So I loaned my tractor to my good friend, who is always very kind to my tools. Unfortunatly, pulling a 6' box blade, no scarifers, somehow he broke the right side lower 3point attachment point. On my L4330 HST, this mount appears to be cast integral to the right side of the differential housing.<br>

My dealer quoted me $249 for the casting, and $700 minimum to install. The used tractor dealer (sells everything) said they could do the work for $350 if I provide the parts, and seemed to want the business.<br>

A) Can this be welded?<br>
B) It appears to me I need to remove the wheel, axle, subframe, then replace (sealant/etc) the casting. Are there any magic tricks to this.<br>
c) Wouldn't it make sense to make this a bolt on piece like some of the other kubotas (LA)

I've owned and used some grizzly, jet, and bridgeport metalworking machinery. I'm not an expert, but the grizzly was no where near as well put toegether or accurate as the jet... The jet was a BIG step up.

That said, this was for CNC machining, and I ended up trashing the grizzly acme screws and putting ball screws on it with my motors. That single change improved the grzzly 100x.

For things that are less precise, (sanders?) It might not be a bad deal; I put a couple thousand hours on the grizzly machine, and it still runs pretty good with brush replacements. I buy brushes at my local electic motor shop.

Is this going to be too small? I'm guessing I'm going to be a couple of inches wider than my blower if I bought this one; It's a local deal and used, and clearing the drifted in snow is taking quite a while with just the fel since I can't "push" at an angle... <br>

I don't have the time to do my plow setup and am thinking of buying this blower if I won't regret it being just a bit skinnier - We live in 4wd country anyway, I just want to be able to do a couple of passes.<br>

It appears that you set the "bucket angle" and then disconnect the hydraulics and connect the plow angle cylinders to the bucket angle ports on the loader valve, correct? Your loader valve would then operate the plow angle and the loader arms?

If I read correctly, that prices includes installing a new backflow preventer, implying that there is already one on it? I would expect that it would.

These systems are typically maxed out pressure at around 15-25 psi. It's unlikely that backflow would occur, but having a working preventer is mandatory, and code in most places.

My system (installed 2 years ago) has the non-toxic "RV" type antifreeze installed in it. Automotive antifreeze will screw up most boilers, plus it's toxic. It's pretty dilute - In 7200 sf of heated area(house + garage, with the antifreeze in it because I heat the garage too), I think there is about 10 gallons total of the antifreeze, of course mixed with a whole bunch of water.

The price seems high. I'd expect to see how much was for the backflow valve and how much for antifreeze, but shop around. Is this an infloor system, or baseboard radiators? www.radiantdirect.com might have some manuals on flushing if you were inclined to DIY, but since you don't know what the old stuff is, it's probably better to hire it out.

I'd guess a show host who doesn't have a BS detector. If you look at typical the service intervals, you'd only replace hydraulic fluid 2 or three times in the lifetime of the tractor...

How does this sound:

I found a 7' western plow locally with angle cylinders and the A frame, but no truck mounts or power unit (which I dont think I need). I'd mount this to a bobcat quick-tach plate such that it can float up and down, and use a section of chain to keep it from falling when I raise it. Use a pin to set the angle, unless you guys think I can use a the valves from the loader bucket to adjust the angle?

For a gravel drive I was going to add a rubber wiper and skidshoes?

Thanks for the pointers - My valve freezes when we get cold wet snows (temps below 10) and it takes idling about an hour before the fluid warms up enough to operate it. Is it water freezing and blocking things, or just cold hf?

Your mileage may vary, I found that the 3 point PHD was worthless in my soil and sold it. I would look at a unit that mounted to the backhoe or loader - You can get ones with a gear drive between the hydraulic motor and the auger to give you a little more margin with limited GPM.

I now borrow my neighbors skidsteer and PHD; Although I'm casually looking for a new one (hyd) for my 4330.

I have a backhoe, 12" bucket, but to do post holes with it you end up disturbing a 14" x 20" area, which makes for not good post holes.

Here we pay no less than $5 per bale for a decent quality mold free grass bale. Alfalfa is usually a little cheaper (good hay, no mold) but sometimes things get tight, and they will go for the same price.

I'm getting ready to sod my yard and cover the mud... I'm laying a lot of grass to reduce snake cover, make a nice place to play, and offer a bit of a fire break.<br>

Up till now I've always hand-mowed with a small husquavarna mower. I've got a finite amount to spend, around $2500 max. Should I buy a mid mount mower for my rather large 4330? (Does a MMM even fit with a BH90 backhoe subframe on it?) or should I buy a big box (cub/deere) rider or ztr. I doubt I can afford something with a real dealer...<br>

I've designed the landscaping to have a minimum of areas that I can't reach with a rider of some-sort. I like the thought of only maintaining and storing one piece of equipment, I'm thinking some sort of lower end rider might fit the bill better, rather than tromp around my grass with the R4's and a big tractor. Plus save hours on the important toy.<br>

Along those lines, any suggestions on a 'budget' mower? I know you generally get what you pay for, but I don't need brand name green or orange if the mechanicals are manageable. I'm handy, is there a jinma equivilent in a wide ZTR? :)

With fuel prices the way they are, I'm paying my excavator in a couple of weeks to take one of his loaders and dig a small pond from the lower end of my lot and shuttle the dirt (in the loader) to the high side, which is where my house is, surrounded by rock. Going to try to get 6-8" over the rocks and grow a little grass.

Paying to bring in the loader and run it is cheaper than paying for the dirt, then paying to truck it in. Topsoil here sells for ~$25.00 per yard, plus delivery.

That's what I was thinking - but I think I need open center, correct? I'll look for the factory kit first, before I start rolling my own. My dealer keeps say, use the FEL, otherwise I can get you _1_ remote for $800.

Would I get into trouble oversizing the valve, as long as it is within reason, say, 15 or 20 gpm, and not 100? Otherwise I'll look for 10/12. The BH90 connections have 3/4 on them.

Answer: "The T4000 Tructor with transferable power down hitch and 3 person seating....."

Give it a rest. If the price was a little more comprable, with a backhoe and loader, to something like the mid size Kubota grand L series, I'd be all over it. But even if the price comes down now, I'll avoid it like the plague and hope your guerilla marketing and spam doom it.

I ended up running #12 THHN. I'm only pulling 300w in a resistive heater, so it will work fine even with a voltage drop (we're at less than 3A). Not really big enough for most tools, but it will run a light or the tank de-icer.

How big of trailer do I need to haul my L4330, with the LA853 loader and the BH90 backhoe? I have the weight of the tractor, but don't have the weight of the attachments. I can figure out the dimensions I need, just worried about capacity. I'm thinking going gooseneck, depending on which truck is better suite to pulling it.<br>

Are you guys adding lights to the kubotas doing a home run fused supply line from the battery back, or is there a factory line that get's most of the way back? If you are running a new/fresh line back, what route are you choosing that protects the wire and makes routing easy? I want to put 2 on, 2 forward, 1 reverse for BH work, all relativly low wattage (esp the reverse). (say, 15 W each).

Well, winter is in the air, and I've just finished building my 'Murf tube' for the front of my FEL. (Thanks Murf!).<br>

Now, I need to get power down my hill to run a small (300w) tank de-icer for the horses. When my excavator blasted for the water line, he left a shelf on the side of the trench for me to throw a conduit in (yet not have it at the same level or position as the water line in case we had to service either.).<br>

In this trench, I put a 1" sch 40 grey PVC running from my garage down to where I need to put an exterior outlet. My plan was to pull a 12-2 with ground and put a single outlet down there, with the GFCI protection for it in the garage so the whole run is 'protected'. The run is about 270 feet.<br>

Now, today I hooked up the shop vac, tied a small piece of baggie to a monofilimant line, and started to feed it up, as my electrican had done with the service feeder conduit (3"). <br>
<br>
The end at the house had been capped, but the end of the run that terminated outside was covered with duct tape, which had weathered and fallen off.<br>
<br>
I'm convinced I have a partial blockage at around 150' or soo (guessing by how much string I was able to feed up). I tried clearing it with compressed air, etc. I finally glued on an elbow and started flooding the run with water from a garden hose (but our water pressure is low up on the hill). The water cleared out some gravel that appears to have gotten in during assembly.<br>

Ideas for clearing it? I guess my alternative is going to be to try to measure the approximate length of the run until the string/bag hits the blockage and dig it up (which if I do, I'm going to put in an access/intermediate pull box like there should have been in the first place). <br>

I looked at ARXX - You definitly need anchors for hanging stuff, attaching siding/drywall/etc like arxx and the others have.

Nudura (www.nudura.com) has forms that fold/hinge on metal pins that are molded in the plastic webs. you unfold the forms (8' long, they go up fast) and then snap them to the block below. The nudura forms plastic ties are molded from the top to the bottom of the blocks, so you don't get compression of the foam. The tops/bottoms of the forms are design to lock toegether with a little ratchet toothed prong/socket (similar to a weak zip tie) so when you stack them, they stay stacked and don't float.

I don't sell them or anything, but I looked at every block, and this one had a bunch of advantages over the others. 2 of us stacked a basement with a 10.5' wall with lots of corners and T's in 2 days.

Since it folds flat, then hinges open, you don't have to ship air all over the place.
