Question's! how much will your tractor's 3 point lift @24" back? My landpride overseeder weighs about 1600LBS empty. They are a good envestmint if you are going to use it enough. I have one I will sell (used) if interested.

landpride does make a 42" rotary mower, might be about right for a BX. I'm just guessing!

I have a 4300. On mine there is 3 postions for the PTO. all the way forward pto engaged, middle detent is pto off but free wheeling (depends on how far the lever is pulled back) the closer you get to the last detent the brake will stop the pto. all the way back (last detent) pto is locked in stoped position.
The middle detent, mover the lever very slowly and you should be able to hear you pto driven machince slow down. I hope I helped you guys, at least this is how it works on mine.

I used to have a 855 and still use my landpride 2572 mower. The 855 handles it well.

I had the same problem with a landpride 2572. Heres my thoughts and experience, A land pride has several different pin holes for the bottom pins. if your mower has this option move them to the last hole, this will get the mower alittle furture away from your tractor so the grasswill stand up for a better cut.
High lift blades are also very helpful.
Cutting grass 8" tall does require to mow it twice to get a good cut unless you drive slow.
If all else fails mow in reverse (works good in tall stuff for me).

I use a demster planter (2 row unit) 3 point hitch. with a 20hp compact tractor. no problems pulling it at all.

The only brand I can comment on is a GB. I have a 260 GB loader on my 4300. I'm very pleased with this loader. The only reason I did not get a JD loader was GB had more lift cap. and 2 year warrity (can't spell) and I liked the skid steer capatable quick tatch bucket and pallet forks ect. The only draw back is that it takes alittle longer to hook up or remove, about 3 min. but I like this brand myself. Happy Hunting.

I was told that there is another filter inside the tank of a 1996-855. It might be worth checking a shop manual.

I got a free video from them. I think they have a great machince but since I have the other attachments I don't need it. I personal think it's over priced. But call for a video, it's free and you can make up your own mind.

My first tractor was a 755, 4x4. I plowed with a one bottom 14" plow, pulled a 5' disc, 50" tiller, 2 row dempster planter, 5' bush hog (4'would be better). In tall grass it was too much for it, but I could creep along and get by and I would take half swaths with it. thin weeds and grass it was fine. This has been my experice with a 20hp tractor.

Neil, I have and use a landpride quick hitch. I'm always swiching emplements.
I would not give it up. But as stated in don't fit everything, what didn't fit did after alittle work (torch & welder)Used with a hyd top link it is a system that can't be beat. I looked at the freedom hitch but since I have over a dozen 3 point attachments it was not cost efective.

Last Dec. I looked at tc33D and 4300. I liked the NH better but the decideing factor for me was the 4300 had alot more loader lift and 3 point lift. If the NH was the same I would have bought blue. Don't get me wrong, I love my 4300. Got it jan 12 and over 110Hrs so far, if it ever drys up I'll put alot more on it.

Should I buy the New Holland TC 33 D or the JD 4300

You get what you pay for,I agree. I'm also takeing delivery of a landpride 2570 tiller tomarrow. I give $2400 for it. I use mine enough that I replace tines every year on my 1550 I just sold.

To all you tractor lovers out there, let me tell you something.... I am the wife of a tractor lover and wouldn't let him get rid of it for nothing. When that money comes rolling in from snow removal and yardwork, it's kinda nice. It also keeps him out of the beer joints. To all you wives, let them have their toys. Your marriage will survive and who knows....you might get something out of it yourselves. I got a diamond for Christmas this year and didn't have to pay for it myself after the credit card statement came in. My husband is even talking about going on a vacation this year. If it wasn't for his tractor we probably wouldn't get to go. Hang in there ladies....you will get something out of it!!!!!!!!

I have a 4300 but it's the same. So far the only time I use the float is when useing the rear blade for snow removal. When the blade is angled the front corner hits the ground first, in float it will level it's self with the ground (I'm normally on asplaht or concrete) and useing a rear finish mower and rotary mower so they fallow ground conture better.

I ordered my 4300 this the 3rd scv on it for the same perpose. My dealer installed it, I my case it was a good thing, there were som e small parts missing from the kit. How ever you can install it your self, it just takes alittle time. Instructions say to drill a hole in the fender to run the cable through, the service mannager did not like that idea. He looped it around the fender and replaced the bolt with a longer one (bottom rear bolt that holds the fender on) and used a cable clamp. You need to remove the seat and right rear tire. A pic would help alot, if you want one let me know.

A auto parts store can get filters for tractors the next day if they don't have them in stock. Were I live the NAPA store is alittle more than my JD parts man, go figure!
