I am interested in finding out the fair price for a 1986 Ford 1910, it has 1800 hrs of service. Other features include: 32 HP diesel, 4X4 , synch shift??(select range, shift between gears, the shifter is on the steering column)<br>Overall the tractor has been rode hard and put away wet, it is currently overheating during operation, the owner figures he could get about $8000.00 for the unit, any thoughts or comments will be helpfull.

I bought mine about a week ago. I already have 12 hours on it, Grading and loader work, I love the tractor. I did not have a need for back hoe at this time either, if I did, I would have gone with the B2100

I have been waiting to see follow ups to your posting, I'm surprised there have not been any. I cannott provide the techinal data you asked for, I can only say how happy that I am for spending the extra for the hydro. I was using the tractor for loader work the other day and tried to count the number of times that I would have had to shift, I lost track - GO HYDRO!

Vince,<br>Your Neighbors must not be in the same situation as you, with all your property, or they would understand the need.<br>I went the less expensive way four years ago, I bought a $7500.00 dollar Garden Tractor, I used it to finish mow 3 acers, snowplow and grade a 400' driveway, and hauling trailers around the property.<br>It was a fine lawn mower, I spent about 3.5 hours a week doing my mowing, longer if the grass was tall. <br>It was a pain to do the grading with the tractor, I had no 3PT hitch so I had to drag a steel I-beam over the driveway. <br>It handled the snow just fine with a 54

I put almost 400 hours on the unit, blew the rings on the left side, and had to replace the carb. It was tough to sell a 4 yr old Garden Tractor with 400 hours on the meter.
This year a bought a new tractor, I looked at the b1700 and the b2100 as well, look like great tractors, I ended up with the JD4100 and I really Love it.
The point of all this is, don't make the $6000-$8000 mistake that I did, buy a tractor now, so that 4 years from now its paid off instead of, 4 years from now shopping for the right tractor.

Greg, <br>I spent two months looking at this board before I bought my tractor. I can tell you that your previous postings on your topic are right on the money. Go find a dealer you like who is within a resonble distance, compare apples to apples and by one-your gonna need it. Kubota, New Holland, Deere its all good stuff.

Rule # 1 - If the driveway is not frozen, don't plow it, wait for it to freeze. In southern MI we get alot of storms that start out as rain and change to snow during the night. The mud beneath the snow moves off as you plow, all of your gravel goes with it.
Rule # 2 - Even when the driveway is froze, the top layer of gravel is going to move off with the snow. Put it where you will find it in the spring.
Rule # 3 Don't push the snow out into the road, the gravel goes with it. The road commision likes it when we make donations, but they don't pay for your gravel.
Rule # 4 Be prepaired to touch up the bare spots on the driveway in the spring.
