I got a quote from Ritchie last year on a NH 1925. His price, even with shipping was about $1100 less than what I ended up paying from a local dealer. Why did I end up buying from the local dealer? Stuart Ritchie was very good to work with on the phone, and his operation checked out A-1 with the BBB in their town, but could not answer the question, to my satisfaction regarding warranty work. He could not assure me that I would not have a problem getting warranty service from a local NH Dealer. My tractor was recalled two months ago for loose steering wheels. Apparently the wheel lock nut has to have a lock compound applied on the bolt, and then the nut has to be torqued to a specific reading. Letter from NH said that selling dealer had to do the work free, but that there may be a mileage charge. Selling dealer scheduled the repair at my convenience, with no charge whatsoever (dealer is approx 40 miles away). Anyway, not a problem, but what would you do if you had the problems that Farminlady had with her Boomer a few months back? Something to think about when making (at least for me) a MAJOR purchase.

Dave you won't find a 100% American made compact. All have Japanese engines. The<br>New Holland Boomers are built in Georgia with Shibaura engines. The JD 4000 series are <br>the same except with Yanmar engines. The rest are 100% Japanese.

Scaper,thanks for E. I'm in se.tx. So far quotes I've been given seem alot higher than e.coast. I know dealer makes a big difference. Customer(such as yourslf)makes a difference,too. Wish I could find a dealer as interested in 1 small buyer,as one with a co. that might be making many transactions,new tractors,implements,parts,services etc. You have bargaining power.
