I too have an engine heater on my 2210. I also plug it in about 20-30 minutes before use, but only in sub-freezing temperatures. I have found that using the glow plugs works quite well in weather 20 degrees F and above. I simply put the machine in gear (high or low range) with the throttle at the lowest idle position. Then turn the ignition key all the way as if you were going to start it and hold it for about 10 seconds. Now put the tractor back into neutral and start it up. The glow plug works very well for me in these slightly "warmer" temperatures.

jd2210 - I was wondering about the seat you have on your machine. If I have one major complaint about my 2210 it would be the seat, or at least the ride (or lack thereof) that it provides. Those heavy duty rubber shock absorbing bellows below the seat just don't seem to do the job when it comes to schock absorbing. My derierre seems to take the lion's share of the shock.

Anyhow I was wondering where you got your seat and if it has improved the ride over the stock seat that you replaced it with ?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Greg - it really depends on what your main use(s) for these implements would be. If clearing snow is job #1 the blade will be superior to the FEL. However, for the difference in money, the FEL is a much more versatile implement capable of a multitude of tasks. If you're hedging on one over the other, I'd personally go with the FEL since you most definitely can use it to move snow. Just my 2 cents: the FEL is worth the extra money.

The other night I was getting ready to install a rear facing working light on my 2210 and noticed a connector attached to 2 wires(ground and hot) covered with protective sheathing sticking out the back of my machine. I haven't had the time to check it out much yet, but it seems to come out of the ROPS and terminates with a white connector just above the rear PTO. Does anyone have any ideas what this is for and if it is switched to anything ??

You'll have to weigh the financial loss from selling your 2210 against the potential performance gains of acquiring the 4115. As bigpete mentioned it really depends on what you intend to do with the machine for the majority of it's use. I agree that the 2210 may make for a little better mowing machine due to manuverability. I wouldn't think you should have to take too much of a bath on selling your 2210 with only 28 hours on it. Especially when you consider that some dealers are still having a tough time getting their hands on a new one.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I'm going to go with the 54" blade. I do have a 9 hp Ariens 2 stage walk-behind snowblower that can get me into some of the tighter spots if necessary. Heaven forbid I actually have to get off the tractor and use this primitive machine though !! I just like the idea of being able to utilize it for something other than just snow removal and the price tag is a little more appealing than the snow thrower. Thanks again-

I too had some scuffs and deep scratches on my loader from the banding when I took ownership. I guess it's just something to expect, although I certainly wouldn't accept the same thing on a new vehicle. There was actually even a dealer pre-delivery checklist in one of my manuals (that hadn't been filled out). "Touched-up" scratches was one of the items that hadn't been checked off. Anyhow, I got my dealer to give me some free touch-up paint and I took care of it myself. Mark's right though - it hasn't looked the same since then and never will!! A few rocks in the bucket make short work of that pretty green paint.

I do not have a problem with the locking feature of the deck, but my dealership did go through 2 of the lift arm connecting rods before getting it right. First they had it adjusted incorrectly and then they had the wrong arm on. Both situations resulted in bent arms as you experienced. The 3rd time, however, they got it right. I'd share their name and number with you, but based on my scenario I don't think you'd want it.

I've had my 2210 since the end of February of this year and so far I have zero complaints. I have 21 acres that I use it for chopping around tree seedlings, moving dirt, gravel, etc. I've also moved snow with it with no problems. I'm very impressed with the power it has for such a compact machine. I too have noticed the side screens collecting debris, especially when it's dusty and dry out. This is definitely something to keep an eye on.

My deck lock seems to be working fine now. You just have to raise the 3 pt. as high as it will go before attempting to turn the dial adjustment to the lock position. If this still doesn't work try holding back on the 3 pt. lever at the same time as turning the dial as NYYANKEESFAN suggested.

Also, the rattle that I mentioned in my first post on this subject is gone. Some warmer weather seems to have solved that one. I guess I'm a little new to the noises that a diesel engine makes in sub-freezing weather.

The tractor has been returned and the deck is operating perfectly fine. The dealer told my dad that a bracket had been incorrectly installed at the factory and that was causing the connecting rod to bend. I'm unclear as to which bracket it was. Supposedly they did check on the previous attempts to make sure that the rod was the correct length before installing it. Anyway - problem solved so everyone's happy. The dealer called me last Friday and said that my 2210 had also arrived and will be delivered to my house sometime this week. Can't wait to play !!
