I had a 2000 4100 and I have crawled all over the 4110's. If there is ANY difference, I can't find it.

Wait! I thought of something. I think the SCV control stick has a different bend in it so you won't bump it with your knee so often.

Welcome to tractor point. I flew through Stockholm on my way back from Helsinki. What a great view of the shore line. You guys really have the Islands. I have a sailboat and cruise on Lake Erie. Can not imagine sail through all the Islands on the coasts.

I don't own a hoe for my 7800, but can't imagine fealing comfortable hanging one from the three point. I believe the extra money would be worth it to have the hoe properly supported with frame struts. Busting up the rear case would be very expensive.

Ken - i'm surprised you havent gone to your local hydraulics shop already. It will cost you no more the $30 to have them make you the correct length you need.

The anount of WORK a machine can accomplish is measured By force x distance, or foot lbs. This work can be stated as torque. POWER is the speed at which work can be done, horsepower is a unit of power. In theory, and without factoring in all the losses, a 5hp machine can accomplish the same work as a 20hp machine, but would take four times as long. The increase in losses makes this impractical.

Maximum torque, or available work, usually peeks in a diesel at about 70% maximum RPM. As RPM's increase, work can be accomplished faster, but the torque falls off due to losses and inefficiencies in the engine. Horsepower begins to fall off as available torque falls faster than engine rpms are increased. At some point on the performance curve, torque and horsepower cross at peak operating efficiency, which is usually below maximum engine horsepower.

The purpose of this babling is that published horsepowers can be a little misleading, depending on how they are derived. A few things are givens; 1)A hydrostat will have less power avavilable at the PTO, and also less brake HP, due to the losses in the hydrostat. Heat is power, and for every BTU of heat built up in the hydrostat, power is lost from the engine. There is also a hydraulic loss in the hydrostat that the surge pump replaces. 2)Torque and power are only directly related at the point of the performace curve where the two cross due to losses and inefficiencies in the engine. 3)Different manufacturers post estimated HP at rated RPMs at different points on the engine perforamce curve. The gearing of the pto can fall at different points on the curve. 4)The lower the rpms are for a rated horsepower, the more efficient the engine.

Not sure any of this helps, but because HP is time dependant , it can be misleading.

I just recently traded in a JD for a 3130 kubota. I agree with the comment about the subframe being stonger looking. The kubota is a solid unit & seems alot tighter then my JD ever did even when new. I do miss the loader joystic location but thats just a matter of getting used to.

Look I'm sorry about your situation but there are only a hand full of tc in the WORLD that have broken like that. There is nothing wrong with the tc 33 or the 7308 loader. In fact there are just as many deer and kubotas as new Hollands that have split like that. It is a bad circumstance but some times it happens. You bought the tractor used so I'm not saying you did any thing wrong but the guy before you probably did. You got a bad deal but that is the chance you take when you buy a used tractor modified or not. Next time look at a new tractor Or at least one with all o.e.m. equipment on it. I'll make a deal with you, you pay for shipping to and from my shop and parts and I'll fix it for free in my spare time.

Still haven't bought a tractor, but getting much closer to a decision. I was looking at the MMMs for the TC33DA and had a question about the side discharge, model 914a. How big is that sheild that channels the grass clippings? From photos it appears to be something like 6-8 inches. <br>
The reason why I ask is, I was probably going to get a 60 side discharge, I would like a 60 rear discharge, but it is not available for the 33da. Then I noticed the discharge sheild, and thought, okay, the actual mowing coverage is 60", then add on the extra incheds for the discharge sheild, and you are closer to the 72" deck. So if you are already closer to that, go ahead and do the couple of extra inches and get the rear discharge mulcher deck, right? One reason that I wanted the 60 was for mobility through and around trees, but with that discharge sheild hanging out, I don't think that the 72" would be much worse. Am I right in assuming this?

I've had the 4110 hydro w/FEL,R4 tires for a week. I've dug a 15' x 20' 4-6" deep "hole", moved 20 ton of crush-n-run, and I am currently working on a 80 ton pile of top soil.

Anywho... regardless of the theoretical losses that are being beat to death here... the 4110 hydro is more than up to the task. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The loader control does seem to be in an awkward location but some people seem to like it. Although it falls to hand easily if your hand is on the wheel, the long reach would probably cause a sore arm and shoulder after a long day of loader operation. I like the Deere location better but it's a matter of personal preference.

I did not know what to think, all other levers move easily.
When it does not want to move, it feels like there is something giving but I do not want to pull/push to hard.
That is probably why kicking the PTO in and out of gear until it moves easily works. I will look at manual again, I read it when I got the tractor last month, but did not go back on this item.

No doubt we are Cub fans ! I think the 5000 offers a lot for the money...when I got my 3204 last year, these units were not out yet...if I was shopping again and was looking at the 3000 series, I would be looking more at the 5000 series instead...they are really price effective compared to
an "X" series or some other makes...

If you're looking to make this simple, I'd avoid a large greenhouse (except to start tomatoes, peppers and such in the early spring) and concentrate on a good harvest and methods to preserve it: drying, canning, freezing. Yes, the tomatoes will be much better fresh in August and you'll miss 'em in January, but you can still have them stewwed from jars. Apples and potatoes will keep well into the early spring if stored in a good root cellar. Most other veggie's freeze or can well.

BTW - I'm thinking of putting some lettuce and spinach in my small greenhouse this winter and see if we can have salads in the winter/early spring.
