I have a Yanmar excavator that has model 3T90T-LB Yanmar engine. I was told it was tha same as the JD1050. Would happen to know if that is the same model # ? Thanks

I think I have settled on a Kubota BX1500. I have contacted 3 local dealers. One quoted $12,300 w/FEL and mower deck.<br>
The next quoted $10,500 w/FEL and mower. The third quoted $10,600 w/FEL and mower. Can I expect to find a lower price than $10,500 ? <br>
I also have a 1976 Economy Powerking 14 hp, with mower deck, front snowplow, front snowblower and 3pt. hitch. Its in good working condition. What is a fair price to ask ?<br>

Murf, you obviously have the right formula for managing a business. Sounds like the right idea to let your employees handle the business and move on to the next great project. It takes people like you to keep creating the jobs and courage to let go of what you have already accomplished.

My Dad was an apple farmer who got out of the business and recommended that I do other things to make a living. I now have my Ph.D. in statistics and am the forecaster for the IBM mainframe division. Each system sells for $1M and we sell about 2000 per year. Total revenue about $4B per year when you add in other miscellanous stuff. But I often wish that I was able to provide jobs for other people, the way you have.

According to the JD website... ballast boxes are (are now) i-match compatible... I must have been given an old one... ARRRGGGG. I'll be at the dealership in the morning... :( They can give outdated equipment to someone else.

And don't forget that good dealer support is VERY important. If you get bad vibes from a dealer that is a great reason to cross them off your list, even if they are the only dealer for a specific brand in your area.

Last week I bought air filters for my 7360ss and my 7265, same part, the price was 75.00 a piece from my cub dealer. April 03 they were only 59.50. I think this oem parts for cubs is wrong. I have looked at NAPA, even took Mit. part numbers and only oil filter could he cross reference. The hydro filter for the 7360 last year was 89.00 I can't even guess what it will be this year. I like my tractors and believe in oem filters but this is just too high. If you find any other place ot order them please post. Even if a cub dealer can sell them cheaper than the local dealer I am a buyer.

normal operating temp for most hyd. systems is about the same as the engine normally 175 to 195 on others it is above 200 and some below 175

If the wood is clean and not too dry, 500 - 750 hours.

I send them to a fellow who makes the cutter blades for a custom wood moulding shop near me, he sharpens them using a machine for sharpening planes, chisels, and router bits. The blades stay a lot sharper, a lot longer when he does them. His machine grinds them under a stream of water to keep them from heating up.

As an aside, he also told me he could supply with replacement blades for a good price. He wasn't kidding, his price was about a third of the cost for the OEM replacements.

A bit more information. After 15 hours of chipping soft douglas fir I pulled the chipper blades for examination and they were still sharp. Removing the blades is somewhat difficult for one person. I did it by myself but it took about three hours to remove and install both blades with hand tools. The difficulty is that you need to reach into the chute side with a 5 mm allen bit while simultaneously reaching around the chute and loosening the nut on the other side with a 16 mm socket. This is impossible for one person to do so I had to access the chute side through a hole used for the feed roller. This is doable, but a lot of time is spent finagling tools to get the right combination of ratchet and universals and extensions for each bolt while using 2x4 blocks to support the ratchet end so the allen bit won't fall out. It would be much easier with two people, and I'd guess with a helper it could be done in 30 minutes or less. Overall I'm still very pleased with the chipper.

I'm not sure normal is the right way to describe it, but my 7800 pto levers are difficult to shift sometimes. There is even a blurb in the owners manual about what to do if they are difficult to shift. It is just a meetr if getting the gear box lined up for shifting.

Art--it sounds like you're a dealer. Would you possibly have a copy of an installation manual? I'd be happy to pay you if you could fax it or mail it to me. If I just had the wiring schematic as well as wire locations I can easily hook it up to the radio I purchased.

I just purchased a 3-point hitch 7 1/2' Prairie Dog Digger (essentially a Woods 750 clone) with the intent to mount it onto my L225. I just learned that Woods does not make a subframe kit for my older tractor. DOes anyone forsee any issue with just mounting it as a 3-point attachment? Thanks.

Picture #3 is of a robot doing spine surgery.
What looks like a rump is actually the shoulder blades with the arms pulled down to open the area to provide better access.

I am an inventor and the robot in the picture is one of those inventions. I built many of the parts for the robot in my shop at home. I have been working on medical devices used in surgery for over twenty five years.

i let brother in law barrow my tractor a 98 New Holland TC33. He cut his 3 acrea field with it, I went over to his house a noticed he had the grille and radiator grille completly plug with grass and stuff. I know he probably overheaded or got it hot becuase I now when I cut my yard I keep an eye on it and when it gets pluged it will run hotter. He had plugged way more thtn I have ever seen it. This is my only complaint with this tractor. I checked the rad fluid and it was low about a half gallon. I haven't talked to him yet so I don't know exacly how hot it was. My question is how much damage could have been done? It started up and ran fine. Are these forgiving tractors when ran hot? What should I check for? I did not see any coolant in the oil.

Back in the college days, I used to be an Assistant manager at McD's and it is amazing they can make anything out of the nasty grease mess they ship out. It is not only the oil from the french fryers, fish vats, or chicken vats but the grease from the grills as well. In the morning it is very common to have a lot of eggs, sausage, and bacon mixed in as well. Let it set out in the hot sun in a 55 gallon drum for a week or two and it no where near resembles french fries. I know we used through about 100 to 150 gallon of vegetable oil a week. Maybe when they strain it out and refine it, it smells like fries again!!!!!
