On a tractor that size the hydro will consume too much power and your tractor won't pull much of a drawbar load. If your primary use will be mowing and other light draft work the hydro will be fine. The first compact I demo'd had a hydro, personaly I did'nt like it, so I've bought three Deere 12/12 reversers since, and would'nt even consider a hydro, just too much power loss, and too expensive. These are only my opinions, others have their reasons for liking hydros. Best of luck, Frank.

I don't have any experience with Kobota engines, so I'll just give you some guidelines I've learned with past experiences with oil in the coolant. Being oil pressure at operating speed is greater than coolant pressure there has to be somewhere that a crack has developed or a seal has failed. If this engine uses a water to oil oil cooler they can develop a leak and let the oil pressure force oil into the coolant, those can be pressure tested. I had a Ford gasoline engine once that had a hole drilled too close to an oil gallery, over time a leak developed into the water jacket of the engine. I don't know if your engine has wet or dry cylinder liners, but usually if a wet sleeve cavitates or a lower sleeve O ring fails the coolant will go to the oil. Your water pump may be gear driven from the timing gear set, I've also had this happen that the seal on the shaft of the water pump will fail, but again the coolant will go to the oil. I'm only giving you general possibilitys that apply to most engines, not a real answer. Best of luck. Frank.

Hello everyone. I have watched all the posts on this and am a little puzzeled.It is without a dought the dealers fault, but Lenar is responsible in the end.Greg, get a life. If it were you, you would be mad to.Yes Patrick is upset and talking with emotion but that is something that Greg lacks.If Lenar was a stand up company they would have taken care of this problem a long time ago.As I see it Patrick get a lawyer and make them be a stand up company.It would probally only take one phone call from a lawyer or your states atterny and Ben or his boss would have a different outlook.
Is a Lenar a Jinma tractor? I own a Farmpro and love it. I had a little trouble when I first bought it and had dealer issues. I called Homier which is the importer and company that sells them and talked to the plant manager. They were great to deal with and fixed my problem.They have even called to make sure it is still ok. That is a stand up company. Good luck Patrick

Great ideas guys! I definetaly need to be able to move impliments around easily. My back is not so good sometimes. I plan on making a roller stand for the rotary cutter and would like to make stands for the rest of them for positioning. Just wanted to make sure someone dont market stands cheaper than I can make em out of wood and it sounds like the home made wood stands is the way to go. Murf your idea would be great if I had more head room, I dont have a ploe barn just a regular garage but I will keep my eyes open for that kind of system for in the future I am sure I will build a small ploe barn with 12-14' walls to be able to get larger equipment in a heated area for work. Thanks for you ideas

In addition to the 970 (1998 model with 1,000 hours) we bought a 430 loader, a LX5 cutter, a box blade, a rear blade, and a rock rake.

In addition, while at the dealer I saw a Trail Gator and laughingly said I 'd love to have it but my wife would never stand for it. When I told her the story she said, "Go ahead." After stewing about it for a few days, I decided I didn't want to be the first husband in history to deny his wife a Trail Gator. I get to borrow it when I'm training the dogs.

I ordered a Milemarker hyd winch , the plan is to build the mount useing the plate thats welded across the front of the tractor just below the hood. I ran this idea past my dealer and thought it would be ok. Just wondered what anyone else has done.

I have a 1300 Ford. Last week my water pump went. I went to my neareast NH dealer and he got the parts within a few days. My tractor was made from 1979 to 1984, and I was wondering about getting parts. The dealer told me he could get almost all parts. He said there are some exceptions, but usually he can get the parts.

The diesel is a few hundred more but without the mower deck which will probably be about $1500 additonal. No question that the diesel engine is stronger, longer lived etc but it costs more, diesel fuel stinks, starting in cold weather may be harder. I went with the gas version simply because it was such a bargain. $7300 with a 60" deck. I also got the loader. Gas or Diesel I can't imagine you would be dissatisfied.

stay with kubota woods loaders may say they are "rated" for more weight than the kubota but last time i checked woods did not make the tractor so what gives them the right to put more weight and stress on in. Kubouta designed it and the loader and spend millions on r&d to find the right loader. Woods one loader for many tractors.

one thing that i found to work for most of the tractors with hydro is to push the range lever while you ever so slightly tap your hydro pedal, the gears will mesh and it will fall right in but unlike bliz suggestion you want to do this at a low idle.

Short answer is yes, they are basically an identical tractor to the old Ford 2000-4000 units. Only difference are the brakes and injection pump (smoother operation). The FarmTrac 35 which is basically a Ford 2000 starts around $9000 with a 3 year warranty.

Several considerations...cutting width, number of blades, blade size and weight...there are many maufacturers but for example the Rankin 327 with a 4'6" width and 400lb weight would work nice with the 4100. I think you could go to 5'6" but I'm not sure I would go further. As usual it depends on the conditions...if your on the flats, no problem...dealing with some slope, soft ground, wet conditions and you'll bog down pretty quick.

Different problem. The clearance is very tight between a hose connection and the backhoe seat when the backhoe is installed, making it difficult to connect/disconnect the hose.

Not only is the 2210 probably underpowered to properly grade the 2 acres but what are you wanting to do in the next few years with the 35 acres? I made the mistake of buying too little tractor and buying the wrong tractor...but I digress. Once you have the tractor your list of things to do with it will expand dramatically and I suspect the 2210 won't keep up...down the road you'll want to trade up. Look at your financing options to buy more now.

I had use of a 4210 for about a month and on several ocasions found the power lacking when using the FL...I would suggest you take the long view...you may not need the PTO HP now but in 5 years or 10 it may be a different kettle of fish. I suggest going for the extra HP...its peanuts when spread over the life of the tractor.
