Alan, the first thing I,d look at would be the wheel hubs that connect the wheel to axle they might loosen up causing the pboblem you are describing. It is not normal and can normally be fixed by tightening the hub.

Bob:<br>I am acommercial landscaper who, among other things looks after 8 plazas larger than yours and have for years. Without a doubt, the fastest, easiest way is a frontmounted power angle blade, either as a stand alone unit, or replacement for the bucket of a loader (my preference). As long as there are no trees etc. on the sidewalks you should be done in no time. Also with a blade on the loader frame you can easily stack snow with it, and with the bucket back on can easily load trucks to haul it away. A broom makes sping clean-up of sand a breeze, and will dethatch grass in record time, but, do NOT get a rotary broom, it will only make the sand airborne to cover everything in dust and get everybody really ticked off at you!! The 70 series was built by Yanmar. The 4xxx series is made in Georgia but they use Yanmar engines. I believe the 4100 is also made by Yanmar.

Mike,<br>I don't know much about greys. Mostly what I have found on the net. For me I bought a regular market tractor to avoid the hassle of the parts situation. I have to chase parts all week for japanese machine tools on company time and don't want to have to do it for my tractor too.<br>This does not answer your question but it may be worth while for you to give Steve Carver at Carver Equipment a call or e-mail. His number and email address can be found on his web site. He is not far from you ~90 or so miles at the I-40 and I-95 intersection. He may have a used or a lease return tractor that may suit your needs and have better parts availability and resale value. When I bought my tractor he had some interesting financing options (ie: monthly rental with the rental $ going towards the down payment when you purchase.) They are good honest people there and provide EXCELLENT customer service at reasonable prices.<br>Jeff in NC

Why do you think wet filters are nessecary? Most farm tractors since the mid-60's have used dry elements.

Wet type air filters are a necessity for all general purpose tractors

jay, With being a case-ih dealer if you were maybe a ih dealer than you should know that mitsubishi originally represented it self here as well as yanmar before any of the majors looked at them JD-yanmar was first and then IH-mits. The first that came to my knowledge was kubota. You are right about them all having lemons or problems. I as a dealer look to a company that deals with them, not just dances around them. There is no one product that is right for everyone, there is acceptable things to you that are not acceptable to me, that is why there are so many brands. Quality is a touchy word, what is quality and what do people accept. I sell husky and stihl chain saws, had a short line rep stop in and tell me I should be selling his parts rather than oem I asked him why, when oem quality should be better! He told me I'd see my customers more often and make more money. I asked him to leave would you? Jay check your facts on timing on mergers as to what happened first, get back to me if I'm wrong sometimes my memory does goof up but in general I don't forget my metal.

Terry,<br>Swapping the circuit breakers initially worked for me too. Days later the problem resurfaced. The fuse link they repaired required the dealer to remove the fuse box and solder the replacement in. 4200. Hello, I have some experiance with the 4200 as I am the unfortunate owner of one. I have nothing but hydraulic and power problems with the tractor. There are others with the same problem. The dealers is unable to repair the hydraulic problem and the tractor has been down a total of a month. The tractor only has 200 hours on it!!!!!!!I have only had the tractor for 7 months. I am going to try and get my money back and buy a Kubota. All the other farmers around me are now buying Kubotas and I have the only new JD compact around. Makes you want to say HUMMMMMMM!!! jtparts.com has a site that cross references the manufactures of several compact tractor with horse power,gas or diesel,2 or 4 wheel- drive against the origenal model number before JD,WF,NH etc. paints them their own colors and puts a different model number on them.This is handy for part hunting.

I butt heads with the manufacturer five days a week, which is becoming my favorite pastime. I don't know how much I can do to make a change with JD, but I think this one deserves a little fight. I am interested in buying a post hole digger for my JD755 tractor(20 hp). Would like suggestions on type and price. Only going to use on occasion, not commercial. Do the post hole diggers even work well with this size tractor? Any help would be appreciated.

Mike--the PTO has locked up on some of the new 4300 and 4400 tractors and JD is aware of the problem. My 4400's PTO locked up (while engaged) with 8 hours on the hourmeter. The fix required a tear-down of the tractor from the dash back. According to JD, the PTO was set too tight at the factory to release properly. If your neighbor's tractor was manufactured recently, I would be surprised that JD had not corrected this problem during assembly. By reading some of the older postings on the JD part of this forum, you will see that the 4200, 4300 and 4400 tractors had some problems early in their manufacture. Surely by now, JD has eliminated nearly all of these problems that plagued those of us that purchased the earlier models of these tractors (except tire scuffing).<br>Mike S.

In posting about the trailer axles made from moblie home axles is a good point. I would avoid buying a trailer with this type of axle. I worked in the moblie home industry for 15 years and speak from experience. The off size tires and type of rim to hub attachment is the main concern. Its easy to check if its a mobile home axle. The rim the tire is on is like a donut (no holes in the rim)like a carlug nuts and it has a type of wedge and bolt system to attach the rim.<br>The problems with MH axles.<br>A lot of the tires are dry rotten and the 14.5 tires are no longer allow in some states. So there are a lot of old tires floating around so beware!<br>If you no not set the wedges so the tire is attached evenly to the hub you will get uneven tire wear. If all wedges and lugs are not tight you will have a rim flying off at hi-way speeds.<br>Last the axle is 8'-6

The backing plates are very cheap. No total cover for the brakes and magnets so road dirt and debris is a problem. This added to magnet wear and severe rusting of the steel backing plate for the magnet to attach to during braking. This will over time reduce braking ability of the trailer brakes and add to maintenance.
Last thought
Stick with a Dexter axle used in better factory build units. Any RV dealer will have magnets and brakes in stock and the cost is far less. Any auto tire will work and no parts hunting needed. "> Trailer for hauling tractor

Ultimately it will depend on how hard the generator is working. If you are pulling a lot of amps, the tractor will burn proportionately more fuel.<br> Compact tractors get great HP hours per gallon. It would be hard to find more efficient motors. I wouldn't be surprised if a 5 to 10 KW generator burns less than a gallon/hour in normal home use.<br> As a general rule, the governor on a tractor has a wide range and the motors have heavy flywheels to help smooth the governing. A tractor should adapt to the load very nicely. If you are doing something that is extremely frequency dependent - like running a vintage hi-fi with a turntable - then any small generator will fluctuate more than you like. <br> Roger Loving<br>

All of what I have said, can be done better just the way I said. As far as warranty claims waiting to happen. It has never happened! Not in the 13 yrs having a Compact tractor. Maybe that is in your Kubota Manual. They mention those things for in manuals for liability purposes for inexperienced users. I personally don't think you even know what you are talking about when it comes to this subject. So don't throw your two cents worth in till you know what you are talking about. If you have never picked your front wheels up off the ground to do any kind of work at all to apply preasure etc. you are either a wimp with your tractor, because of inexperience or just lying to me for the sake of argument. <br>
