My dealer went through several checks of all of the safety cutoff switches, fuel solenoid, etc., with no sucess. I am interested in buying my friends 1980 Yanmar 240d, diesal, 240 original hours, 24 hp, 4 wheel drive, 2 sped power take off,(540 & 1000), 3 point hitch,green, standard bucket(4 foot wide), in near perfect shape. I have no idea what it is worth. I was hoping for some suggestions. If I bought it I would need to buy a backhoe attachment, anyone have any idea how much thaaat will cost? Massey Ferguson MF240 (a 50 engine HP tractor, i dont know its PTO HP but can guess that its about 40) uses about 2 to 2.5 liters per hour at idle and about 3 to 3.5 liters per hour at maximum load. tom , cub tractors and farmall H's, never saw one that was four wheel drive nor did deere lets stay on tract and finish deere doesn't hold a candle to kubota's market share under 40 horsepower. deere is the recognized marketing leader another words leader in B.S. ie deere coming out with a new way to measure loader capacity!I've not seen another piece of literature that measures load at the pins . I can go on for hours and days about stretched truth's. There are manufacturers that are right on with there claims and there are those that are underrated and then there is deere, read the fine print I know because I do demo's when needed and I've been at this a long time and deere isn't the only one out there doing it just the most recognized in the industry. I don't sell one brand of tractors nor any other products I have at least 2 lines of every product I sell often they are rated by shop frequency and customer satisfaction. I know what I can trust to perform the way it needs to, my eyes are not closed but wide open with 30 years plus of this buisness and more to go and looking ahead wide open to new ideas and concepts. When something new comes out thatis able to prove itself I'm ready!

Iseki engines are made Izusu so check out oil filters for japanese cars. My 3 cylinder diesel 22 horse takes the same oil filter as a Toyota 1984 Camry.I went to Fleet Farm a, big Wiconsin hardware/farm supply with hundreds of filters on an open shelf.The Toyota/ Fram was .something like 2956 and was about 1/2 inch shorter

Fleetguard makes excellent stuff and probably makes the original filter. I would call your local dealer parts dept. and have them look it up. Napa gold is good too. Napa has all the cross-reference manuels and part no. The counter guys can look it up for you. I use the Napa Gold filters in my tractors.

the bucket to push against a rock. Just like a flash, the lift arms
jumped a few inches. When the arms came up against the preventer, the
resulting forces encouraged the draft compensation to re-engage the
hydraulics and lift the arms a few more inches....now the preventer is
bending (I had the backhoe on my big Ag JD) and I hear the darn draft
control re-engaging for another lift!! At this point metal is starting
to groan and it has only been a few seconds since the whole cycle started.
Frankly, I bailed off of the backhoe seat and ran. Eventually the hydraulic
load got so heavy that the engine stalled. Lucky for me I was working with
the engine at an idle. If it had been at full power the damage would have
been worse as well as happening quicker.
