OK, so now I have this really great washer like the other Father's day buyers. So I think we should get some do and don'ts:

1) How do I remove the green mold off my house siding if it says don't put bleach through the pressure washer???

2) What is the right nozzle for each job:
a) washing the car
b) Doing cedar siding 6" lap
c) Cedar decking
d) cleaning concrete

3) what would you use that nozzle that has the tight pattern on?

I used the middle nozzle to clean the garage floor that had a failing epoxy finish on it and it cleaned it pretty good and removed alot of the loose paint without any chemicals. Also got rid of the glaze that the tires leave, making it look ready for a new paint job.

What are you guys doing?

As art stated, 30 horse 4x4 would be the bottom line ,with that much land to work I think you should look into something in at least 50 horse are more. you wouldn't be sorry.with 700 acers there no such thing as to big of tractor.

I keep the Sea Ray on a trailer. It is lot easier for me to keep an eye on it that way and the problems of leaving it in the water such as agae growth, mound, and mildew are minimized.
It is like pulling the circus to town when I pull her to the launch ramp but it is really not that bad to launch and retrieve. Just have not had the time this year to use it yet. I was going to get it ready this week but some new jobs came up and now the weather is crap. The Cummins makes pulling that beast real nice.

Reberta,I welded the front and rear fork set ups out of scrap steel myself. there not as preety as the one's you buy, but for next to nothin they work really good.the front one hooks on the same way the bucket does and the rear one yes does hook to 3 pt. some iron, quart of JOHN DEERE green and 3 hrs welding and that's what I came up with.

Doc, that sounds like a sweet unit you have there indeed.

I'm with Lawman on the Ford, we have run them exclusively now since 1992, yes there WERE some problems, quickly fixed for the most part, the big problem was the electronic 4 speed auto tranny, all it took to fry it was a corroded trailer plug. The ONE I had was at the dealer's to put in a reman tranny EVERY 3 months, I used to kid him we were bring in the truck for a new tranny & check the oil!!! Other than that we don't have any problems other than the usual stuff, sticky calipers, etc. After one year he convinced Ford to take the truck back for FULL PURCHASE PRICE and give me one with a gear tranny. The new 6 speed is great, 4.10 power with 3.55 economy and top-end, they run 1500 rpm's at 80 mph, can't ask for more than that.

One of my customers just purchased a 14' single axle and it does a great job for them. They have no monster trucks but pull it with a little ford bronco and it does fine.

Reberta, despite what most women think, gravity is a GOOD thing, LOL.

Carefully dig a hole on the downhill side of the rock, dig the downhill side of the hole all the way out until it meets the existing grade, then roll it out and down the hill. If this is not practical, then dig a hole larger and deeper than the rock and RIGHT next to it then tumble it over in to the deeper hole and bury it.

If neither of these ideas seem workable your only other solution is to raise the road bed over that area if possible, or extend the road out further past it and make the turnaround beside it instead of over it.

I'd sure want a hydraulic top-link for using a box scraper to maintain a mile of gravel drive. The top-links themselves aren't too expensive, but the rear valve controlled hydraulic outlet to run them can get pretty pricey. You might get a better price as part of a package than as a later add-on.

You might check if the PTO can take larger auger bits. I think 790's have the HP to run one. I run a 12" auger with 24 pto hp. A 9" auger would be what I'd use for 6" round posts. For 8" posts or 6" x 6" posts (8.5" on the diagonal) there isn't much room in 9" holes. For larger posts, the placement of 9" holes would have be to pretty accurate to keep straight fence lines without having to shave sides in some holes. Holes with plenty of room also are desirable for digging holes for pole buildings.

Maybe someone can tell me how to reduce the clumps of grass (other than to mow more often!) that my recently purchased Befco 6" finish mower leaves behind. It has the chain guards in the rear. Would raising or lowering the front end more than the rear help?

AcZ , I do agree with you overall. The thought of someone buying a gun who has never used one and never will learn, for self defense makes me cringe a little. But I know it happens. Judgeing from all the people I see lined up at the counters after something like 9-11 buying sks and M15's or clones, Iassume it happens regularly or in a fairly large volume at times. I guess thats another debate entirely. Overall I agree with the Shotgun. Like you said, at 10-20' with buckshot your chances of connecting on that first shot are a whole lot better. not to mention people love to sweep the house with handguns sticking 3' out from their bodys like they are at the shooting range.

A 6,500W peak, 5,500W continuous standalone is what I have. It can power most everything in the house but not at the same time. I have to do a bunch of load juggling when we're cooking etc. but that's OK for emergency backup.

It is convenient to have emergency power without having to mount a generator on the tractor etc. first. Especially since I'd many times I'd be doing it in the dark or sub-0F temperatures. The cost of decent quality stantalones of the size I have aren't prohibitive. Larger standalones become expensive and tractor mounted ones start having a definite price advantage. Nothing wrong with a 3ph generator and there are some fairly inexpensive small ones. It's just that I don't think of them as very convenient. I also use my standalone back in the bush where it's too far to drive a tractor. The main thing about a 3ph generator is that they already have gearing and couplers to use 540 rpm pto input from the tractor.

If you are thinking about backup power, it probably would be good to think about how it's going to be hooked up and inform yourself about the codes in your area.

The formula dealing with standardizing dyno readings basicly adjusts for air density. I have done this for my tractor.

Altitude, temperature, and humidity all affect how much torque and HP you can develop in an engine. For example, I am at 5300 ft above sea level where I live and the air density is only 85% of what it is at sea level. Up to a certain altitude, you can use this number directly to calculate engine output by multiplying the density percentage by the dyno HP.

So, my 45 HP tractor will only deliver about 38 HP. Here again more displacement saves the day.

Sorry for your loss. I am sorry for the rest of us too in that we all are better for the presence of good folk and we all lose when one leaves. Take heart though, for as long as we recognize the Good Folk and promote those beliefs we will perservere.
I can only live well and teach my twins to live well and respect the good and recognize and avoid the bad then the world will be a better place. We shoot and hunt and respect the beasts as well as the humans although sometimes it seems the humans are harder to respect in some cases.
There are a fair number of good folk out there, witness this forum.

My local dealer was the same price as Corriher, but not on my first call. Corriher gave me a bottom price right off the bat. I got a TC24D for 11,650 delivered with a full tank of gas. I bought implements from Corriher because they blew my local dealer away on price + quality. Kubota was $1270 more expensive!!!

Sounds like you made some good choices. I'm green with envey ! lol. It really is amazeing how things can cost so much more or less from area to area. Like billy had said in some areas its just not a option on the insurance due to all the storm damage in recent years. It reall looks like a nice machine.
