I had my reservations some 10 years ago about the "portable buildings". Eventually, I decided to get one for several reasons, the two main reasons were a) cost and b) taxes.

I wanted to put up a building that could accomodate my tandem flatbed trailer with tractor and Bhoe intact on the trailer, as well as my tandem dumper and other "stuff". The ending result was a "portable building" that measured 10 feet on center, 24' x 22'. I can't say for any other area of our country, however, here in the NE, property taxes are ridiculous. The tarp covered tubular frame, is not subject to annual property tax, because it is considered to be a "portable building".

It is a Cover-It brand building, designed with heavy snow bearing structure. I have had 3feet of snow and ice on it with the wind shaking the bejeebies out of it, ten years and counting!

Once you use the HST for a while you will and your resale will be better. In some respects you are compareing a manual trans to a automatic. There is especially a noticeable difference when useing some implements. $500 for HST is a bargain.

I agree completely. I learned this one the hard way myself on a motorcycle. I did get my bike back and the joker did go to jail but it was a huge head ache and my bike was pretty beat up and worth a lot less $. I now only take checks and money orders in advance and I insist on a tw week clearing period. The only exception is a US postal money order and I still get that up front but you can cash them on demand at the post office. If you get a joker that pulls a scam with one of those its a Federal offense. A few years ago I sold a couple of Jet skis and the couple that bought them had a poop fit about bringing cash. My response... No Cash no title or bill of sale you get nothing, and yes I do check those bills. They showed up with a check and were showed the door. I guess they thought I was a push over but I said there are three banks within 1 mile, go get the cash or get lost.

The problem that one is faced with when running the engine dry of fuel, is not so much of the engine running dry as much as the injectors. The reference to bleeding comes into play with the injectors. If the tractor has run out of fuel, for whatever reason, the fuel injectors ultimately were run dry, thereby forcing(injecting) their last bit of fuel into the combustion chamber. Once this occurs, the injectors are now dry, or filled with air.

In order to fire the engine again, these injectors must be bled of the air that was sucked in. The procedure is quite simple, usually only needing to turn a petcock one way or the other and crank the engine a few seconds, which will bleed the air out. Once completed, you reverse the petcock again and the fuel will flow properly. The procedure may have to be repeated, but it is very simple and quite a quick task to perform.

well, i have baught the kk tiller a few weeks ago, and i am very impressed. The only problem now is i am out of places to till up!!! I have tilled about two acres so far, some for garden, some for new lawn, and I love the machine. The slip clutch works great, and it tills very deep. I run my 2 bottom over it first of course. I hit a huge rock (2x3x1) and the slipclutch worked great. It leaves a very good finish, even when wet or sod. Very easy to hook up on my tractor. The finish is not much to be desired(paint) but the unit is solid. I am wondering if landpride isnt pricing themselves out of the market. No offense, i have lp equip to and i love it as well. But im sick of paying out the nose for it!

I am inclined to follow AC5Z0's line of thinking insofar as the tractor's ability to maintain lubrication and cooling. The 'difficulty', if you will, is as Mark H. mentioned, the design of the hour meter pickup, will eventually show a ridiculous run time, even though it may have only been idling as opposed to actually working hours.

I have always kept my engines running if I plan on stepping off for awhile to do 'chores' of landscaping or the like. Remember, as soon as you shut off the ignition, the entire cooling system stops. If you were working it hard, you may run the risk of overheating the engine,(probably not on a newer unit as yours is), especially the older the engine.

If you are concerned about the hour run time accumulation, one could always disconnect/bypass the hour meter.(LOL)

First off, nice looking yard. Secondly, the B7500 with a MMM will have no problem holding ground with what is being described. One of the benefits that your dealer should have pointed out to you, is that the B7500 is capable of widening the rear tire/wheel footprint just for this scenario. I mow with comparable size oranges with RMM's without hesitation. The other consideration, would be to have your tires loaded offering you better travel stability. In either event, the B7500 will perform fine on this grade.

Mark, thanx but for all the reasons above I sold off the Marlins I had. The 444 is just too brutal for me. I am planning on picking up a model '94 trapper in 44 mag next week. I do like the Marlin concept/deseign but I really think they need to put more fit and finish in their product. On The other hand they have a huge following based on a very affordable price tag and that is more than a fair price. I do like the Case colored cowboy special they came out with all though I am not sure which pocket protector pencil pusher came up with the brilliant idea of only chambering it in 38 special. Good grief at least use an actual origional caliber like 44-40.

yeah, about 8 tons of stuff that soil sample called for on 9 acer field , lime, postash, potasim,sulfur,and fertlizer it called for , I took my sample to MFA and they set me up with what needed. had to have neibor pull spreader through feild beings the buggy full of the stuff was about 9.5 tons, just a little much for the 790.he's 6410 deere had no problem.

The base is a strengthened set of "carry-all" forks. Mine came from Gearmore, but they are available from several sources. Most are rated for 1000 pounds carrying capacity and they sell for about $125.00

Landscapeing is really a seperate issue and you may have to discuss a box grader Vs. a rear blade and add a landscape rake. For the remaining you will get a lot of opinions that often vary by the amount you want to spend on implements. I prefer a tiller but you will likely find many proponents of a disk.

It is noteable that the 2210 frame is a two piece lawn and garden style frame and not a solid tractor style frame. It has been my understanding that this is the reason that JD does not make or recommend a backhoe for theese.

There is a big difference in a 4wd compact tractor and a Garden tractor, both in price and capability.

I too prefer a front blower to a blade, of course it depends on how much snow you get.

I would stay with the lighter tractors like the B7500 ot the deere 4100, too much weight is bad for turf.

I have a larger model NH, but mine have always made a kind of rubbing noise when actuated. They are quiet during normal running.

Yesterday, we had a pretty big fire in New Mexico. Actually there were three significant fires plus the even larger fire in SE Arizona.

I was involved through the Amateur Radio in some of the emergency communications activities. I had an aircraft radio in one hand, a ham radio in another, Channel 13 TV on in the background, and my wife trying to tell me what was going on all at the same time.

I saw one house in particular that had not cleared brush for some time. The fire burned right up the brush trail to the side of the house. The house was stucco and the fire did not take the house even though there was some major charring and soot on the exterior wall. The roof was a combination of metal sloped and flat tar/gravel.

The only house that burned was one that was under construction and it was unprotected wood framing.

This fire traveled up the Rio Grande river basin for over a mile and jumped from one side of the river to the other. We got rain earlier in the year and that caused a lot of small plants to grow, then it went dry and all the little plants died. The trees are dry and but the fire was carried by the low brushy plants. Occasionally it would break into the canopy, but not often.

Natural selection would have dictated that we let it burn and then the problem would not be upon us for another 20 years. But, people have built expensive houses in the area and now they put out every fire, but they do not clear the brush that fuels the fire in the first place. Perhaps now the local government will wake up and realize that THEY have been allowing this situation to get out of control.
