The loader that I,ve installed is complete and working and have cycled fairly well. My question is that the 3 point hitch does not work like it did before the loader being installed. The tractor is a Yanmar 155D, loader shop built using double acting bucket cylinders, single acting lift cylinders, and double spool, open center valve. I have yet to make final adjustments to the new relief valve, awaiting new pressure gauge'', but it is backed off until then. Also I notice that when the bucket cylinder is backed off completely, the valve handle ''snaps'' differently then the loader handle.

Thanks MarkH that's the one under the subject 'BX Engines.' I never would have remembered it. We sure did hash out the subject pretty good. It never occurred to me to copy the address when in the archives and use it for a web link.

It is a calculating formula that gives the same results as Jeliott's formula, which is in foot pounds. Another version gives results in inch pounds.

When I was in Belarus I didn't see any Belarus tractors. All I saw were Gaz, the company that makes trucks and Volga cars, and they were mostly old machines, Gaz tractors last forever. Gaz doesn't export, you can't buy Volga cars in the USA. They are just as good as Mercedes Benz but half the price.

I would agree with previous comments on the dealer. I received very good customer service, but went through three other dealers before I made my purchase. The individual makes the difference.
I did find something about my tractor that may help someone in the future. The deck will not lift unless you have the three-point spacer bar in place. It is the left three-piont arm that lifts the deck linkage. It catches a bracket as it lifts, and can't do so if it is not all the way out. I had my deck locked in the raised position, and couldn't turn the knob to release it because the arm wasn't releasing the preasure.

I have the 2210 as well, and have been more than pleased with the loader. I have been moving, and digging dirt as well as gravel. Haven't found anything yet it won't handle. The specs. indicate that it will pick-up over 600 pounds, and it does every bit of that. The tractor is also heavy enough to dig as well. I gave $12,500. for mine with a 62" deck and loader.

Not everybody needs what my forklift attachment can do, and you do pay for the features. However, with a hydraulic toplink kit for the carriage tilt it wasn't much more than comparable loader attachments and it lifts more. Plots unit looks pretty good and would serve most people's needs at much lower costs.

I can describe how some of the features such as 3-piece swinging forks makes material handling a relative breeze if there's interest. I didn't get a side-shift option because I don't stack pallets that often.

The make of mine is WIFO. My dealer found it and it may be from a regional fabricator. Dealers generally can find most anything. The downside of the unit is that it is for CATII 3ph and requires sleeves for my CAT I 3ph. The lower link arms barely spread wide enough. It also weights over 600 lbs, which still gives me 1,200 lbs of rated capacity. I've lifted more that that off the ground but I wouldn't want to get anywhere near that much weight to its max height of 5.5' (not including 3ph height). It will pick pallets of building material off of flatbed delivery trucks.

I haven't heard of this one before so I'm not going to be much help.

I do know that many newer power steering systems are servo types. They are purely hydraulic and there isn't a direct mechanical link between the steering wheel and the front tires. In effect, the steering wheels tells the system which direction you want to turn, how much and for how long. At least in theory it's entirely possible for the sensing system to be 'confused.'

This sort of thing isn't something owners should have to deal with. If it's the sort of thing that happens at random widely spaced intervals I have some sympathy for a dealer tech who maybe can't get it to happen when they test it. However, dealers are supposed to have access to factory tech support for such problems. Even if the tractor isn't under warranty a tractor the steers the wrong way becomes a safety issue and it's to the manufacture's interest to solve it. I'd be tempted to make a home video of the steering wheel going one way and the tires the other and make a copy for the dealer. It'd be a rare dealer who wouldn't get excited at some hard documentation and go to his factor rep for a solution.

If the hoe runs from tractor hydraulics it probably uses the transmission oil. A few older tractor hydraulic systems used differential oil. If the hoe runs from a pto pump, the pump manufacturer probably specs an oil for it but likely any generic universal transmission/hydraulic oil would work. Good to check with a dealer though.

I know that the CAD thing is enticing. But what will you have when you finish? About 3000-4000 in a hoe that may or may not do the work you require. And one no one else may be intersted in buying once you ge through.

May I be so bold as to offer an slight improvemnent, one that I was comtemplating for our Mazzotti backhoes. Being a three point hitch mounted hoe, they have the ability to be modified without structural changes to fit on a trailer. Add an engine and a jackshaft(or remove the 540 reducer housing of the pump) and two front stabilizers and you are finished in a day. Yes it may cost slightly more, but you have a industrial backhoe mounted on a trailer. Plus if the day comes for something with four wheels moving under its own power, it can be removed and used back on a tractor. Cost for hoe :$4595

Good to hear that you waded through the safety stuff here and still decided to make it a do it yourself project. Also good to hear that I was taken to mean doing a walk around with the GPS. I'd probably do it while carrying a spray can of marker paint (they spray when upside down). A sack of flour works too.

I hope the 'hydraulic' part of the box is a top-link rather than retractable scarifiers. I think of hydraulic top-links as almost essential for box scraper work. I control how my scraper works almost entirely with the top-link and seldom tough the 3ph except for dumping the box. You can switch from cut to drag to spread on the fly with one. Sounds like you're doing pretty good if you're getting good initial results. For most people it takes a bit of practice with a box before they start getting acceptable results or taking all day doing it.

The scarifiers need to be down only deep enough to loosen to the depth of cuts you are making. On side-grades, it might be useful to have the uphill scarifiers set deeper than the downhill ones but you'd probably pull them all up after a few passes since you wouldn't want them cutting below the intended surface of the finished terraces. Over all, the deeper they are, the more traction is required and gentle probably is better on any sort of side-hill. At any rate you probably don't want them deeper than the topsoil initially.

I can't quite get a sense of the roads. I think they go across the slope but I don't know if they cross the part that's going to be terraced or are above or below it. I guess the turnaround is to go from one road to the other, but I don't know if it's going to be on the terraced area or what the horizontal distance is over the 8' drop.

I would keep in mind that dirt or gravel grades greater than 4% tend to erode and keeping a grade that gentle might make for a pretty long switch-back. A steeper grade could be sloped to the inside to channel runoff to a rock-lined ditch. Stability of the outside part of the road might be a problem particularly if used by heavy vehicles. It might be good to get an expert opinion here. If there's a problem a bed could be cut and filled by rip-rap, covered by gravel and finished with dirt cut from the terraces. The use of fill could help reduce the grade needed. I'm probably getting overly elabourate again but I'm just trying to illustrate potential problems and spending too many words doing it.

There seems to be a mixture of suppliers for the tractors which means that the dealer and parts center has a hard time stocking the parts necessary. If you have to go back to Japan everytime you need a part it takes time.
The new tractors motors are Daihatsu. Diahatsu is known for the mini deisel trucks and cars in Japan and Europe. Some larger trucks here. I am not sure they are manufacturing the tractors, they have not in the past or that another manufacture is placing them in their tractors, like Toro does. It could still be Mitsubishi supplying tractors. One tractor in the current line up is a Daejong (Kioti) 7360. There was a post here that there was a 8XXX series introduced that would feature more Daejong.

It'd be handy if the tractor has a loader. If the loader works normally then the pump isn't the problem.

It'd help narrow down the problem a bit it you noticed if the TX oil was overly hot or frothy when the 3ph quit. If you recognize the sound of a relief valve (sort of a squeal) and one is opening it'd be good to know that too.

Stan may know if a 655 has a rockshaft filter. Some models of JD do and that would be a good bet if it has one. I think they are small screens installed in a fitting in the lines between a loader outlet and the 3ph inlet hoses.

ScottB "What Tom said" Unless you are into sweat get the BH that mounts to the tractor when you buy it. The newer JD's mount much easier than the older models

I needed a backhoe like I needed another butt. BUT when I needed to dig something small it was either wait for a contractors convienence and pay extra trucking for a couple of hours work or get out the round point, pick and beg the two boys to come over for a free meal for some digging. Feeding them I might better pay the contractor. OR I could dig it in several hours myself...

Hard to tell you what size you will need. Its kinda like shopping for a woman... what ever your're told will not be right.

Go out and try them, Just like a date, get what you like the best. All have good points and bad points.

Fog: I don't know which tractor you have. Most 4wd tractors are designed with a front axle lead (the front tires travel a few percent further than the rears). That means the fronts will have some slippage in addition to conventional tire scrubbing. That stresses the front drive train a bit and even more when on high traction surfaces or with heavy weight in the loader (especially if the tractor has turf tires). For most tractors, it's pretty common advice to avoid using 4wd on hard surfaces.

I use a 14' x 25' arctic shelter tent that is wind and snow load rated. It was much cheaper than a building but not exactly cheapo. The shelter was supposed to be a temporary solution for the same situation I mentioned of needing a tractor and hoe in a hurry. Winter was approaching and there were no contractors available or who were willing to travel. Five years later and the temporary solution is still standing. There are a bunch of these shelters around here. Most of them use all weather coverings that last longer in the southern sun. None of them are entirely waterproof though.
