The J.D. 4510 is not offered in an ehydro tranny. There is a big gap from the 4410 ehydro to the 4610 ehydro in physical size and horse power.

I have a 1998 Model 1925 New Holland Boomer. The 3-point hitch will not lower. It appears to be stuck in the upright position. Any suggestions? thanks!

I have a tc21d with 7106 loader and a 60" mmm, thinking of trading for a tc29d with 7308 loader and 60" mmm with ind. tires. Dealer is asking for $7800.00 to trade does this sound high for Iowa?

I have a B6200 with 60" MMM. It comes off with reasonable ease, I'd say within 10 minutes. The 72" should be the same, except maybe a little heavier and thus more cumbersome to move around. The extra 12 inches of cut, however, will be a time saver. If your land is flat, I'd go 72"

I have a Northern pump installed for irrigation pretty much as you described. However, what I did, rather than tieing up my tractor, I had an old Wheelhorse garden tractor,c.1968, with a 12hp kohler electric start on board. I fab'd a bracket off the nose of the tractor, with adjustability for belt wear and tensioning, and set the pump up for a belt drive off the mower PTO pulley.

Merely pop the belt off from the mower, and push on the belt for the pump. I put a two inch pump on this tractor, item number 10627-C178 from Northern Tool, for at the time $99.00. It carries nearly 8000GPH of water at 5000revs. I have so much water output for irrigating my lawns and gardens, I put a distribution manifold on and have sprinklers all over a two acre lot!

My 2210 suffers from the same affliction, picking up leafs and dry fern or any thing else in the woods. I think you already have the problem licked knowing that you have to watch the screens and keep them clean. I dont see why you would need another guage knowing the cause of the problem and how to correct it but I certainly would rather have guages as well Vs the dummy lights. If it were me and the machine had overheated to that extent I would top off the coolent, Check the air filter and personally I would change the oil just to be safe.

Those shots truly tell a story...maybe more often than not, maybe not. I don't personally have a BX22, however I have other oranges.

I know on the other B series oranges, the location of the tranny filter screen and bung assembly, is loacted on the bottom rightside of the tranny housing facing the rear right wheel. I can tell you that it is almost impossible to get at these, let alone remove it with out the removal of the rear right wheel assembly. To reinstall with the wheel in place, is almost impossible to get a straight alignment with the chamber.

With this in mind, if the location on the BX22 is similar, and again I don't know because I do not have a BX22, then it would be conceivable that, possibly someone tried to save time by removing it and reinstalling it without the wheel removed guaranteeing proper alignment within the chamber threads.

I would not know why anyone, (dealer), would need to remove at such an early time interval, i.e: at point of sale, however stranger things have happened. My guess is that it was assembled incorrectly from the gitgo. Just kind of surprised that it seated properly and did not show signs of dripping.

Got another question related to this 50 hr. service before I get started. I have the 72" MMM installed. I looked and it is iffy as to whether the mower has to come off to get the filter out. Any of you done this inspection with the MMM installed? Sure would be nice if I did not have to remove it. But then again I was thinking that I don't want to risk getting oil all over the belts and pullies. Maybe I just answered my own question. <;o)

I'm not sure about your color codes, however, depending on the FEL's control valve that you presently have, you potentially have two ports waiting to be tapped here, one out and one return. By utilizing these ports, your not changing lines, or having any other implement potentially suffer non usability from being disconnected. These ports will be embossed on the control valve casting with the letters "PB", which stand for Power Beyond.

That kind of grounding extension is OK.

You should see what kind of grounding I do for my amateur radio towers. Each tower gets 9 to 12 eight foot ground rods. These rods are all buried below grade and the conductor connecting them is welded to each rod. But even these towers are tied to the single point ground at the incoming power service panel.

re: Polymer modified stucco...I have had good luck with this on my current house, but I think that conventional stucco over a wire net is still available. I had a building covered with regular stucco three years ago. I think that the wire netting and thicker coating used with regular stucco would be a benefit in a bad fire area.

You have to be careful relying on wells for fire protection in a remote area. You still need a tank, pond, or pool of some sort. If a fire is coming your way, you may not have power to run your well pump, time to get the generator going, or you might not be there to get the well running on the generator. If you have a pond, pool, or tank that you can fill slowly from your well in good times, you will have a reservoir for when things go bad. I have a fish pond in my back yard and even it has 1000 gallons in it. A jacuzzi has another few hundred gallons. This is only enough for a good start and might help if a fire front does not come directly your way. If you are directly in a path of a fire front, all you can do is wet the area down as best you can and evacuate. It is too late to clear brush and get ready when the fire is coming your way.

Over the years, I have had fires come within one hundred yards of my various homes. In each case these were on the edges and were small compared to the major blaze.

Gosh. My 4100 does not even HAVE a filter. Wonder what is floating around in there?

But then again every automatic transmission I have seen has only an intake screen. Not sure if that makes me feel better or not.

I just purchased a L4330 and want to landscape approximately 4 or 5 acres. Currently this is in grass and pasture. I am planning on killing the grass and working the ground and smoothing it out. I need suggestions on what type of equipment to use. Will a cultivator and disc work and what size can I use with this tractor or should I get a rototiler? I am sure that there are some rocks so I am not sure what to do. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The most important box scraper feature in my experience is a hydraulic top-link. Without one you can end up hopping off the tractor every minute or so to adjust the top-link. A scraper with a hinged rear cutter may provide the ability to use a wider range of front cutter attack angles and may spread a bit better.

I use my fixed rear cutter for compacting and smoothing. Rolling the box down picks the front cutter off the ground so if doesn't pick up much loose material. I think some hinged rear cutters lock down so maybe they'd work as well as my fixed model plus provide better blade control.

Rollover boxes and retractable (scarifiers I guess) are handy but expensive. Mostly they save time for contractors who use their scrapers a lot.

Perhaps the most important feature is simply how much the box weighs. Heavy is good since a light one will bounce along hard ground without cutting it much and might not even sink the scarifiers much. You really don't want to have to use the scarifiers when the idea is to just touch up a drive.

I think that everybody to a large extent develop their own operating styles and eventually do what feels best. This discussion has been pretty good at introducing some ideas and getting us to think and maybe try different ways of doing things in relatively safe circumstances. It is I think everything that should be happening here. Nobody is always right or always wrong and there seldom is a completely right way or wrong way of doing something. Everybody can learn something new and so we have.

I'll add that the idea of using a diff lock should be tempered by the notion that when it's engaged, if you need to steer you can't. For myself, what seems reasonable is to decide if the risks of tipping or sliding are greater and I'll probably do different things accordingly. I still don't know whether I'd rather slide down a hill foreword or backwards. It's a choice I'd rather not have to make. Some of the idea of backing up hills may be due to older 2wd farm tractors that often didn't have loaders and were heavy in the rear for traction. Weight distribution tends to be more equal on newer compacts and maybe tendencies to backflip are reduced. It still is an issue though.

No clutching on hills is a strong argument for HST's. I have a 12 x 4 synchromesh myself. Speed picks up rapidly on a hill and diesels don't have much engine braking. Clutching is a bad idea. When I road the tractor even when unloaded except for loader and a heavy 3ph implement there's enough push going down hills for the rpm to exceed the max-no load point. I slow down before creating hills so I don't have to use the brakes.
