Well we have discissed the 357 max, and hand guns in general as well as BBLG's. Do we have any clay target shooters or Bird hunters ? My personal one at the moment is a Berreta 687 Silver Pidgeon clays gun That I use in the field as well.

Got a 4300 hydro (early model) with only 230 hours on it used primarly for cutting grass and plowing snow. Over the weekend while cutting it just stopped, almost like I got up off the seat w/ the pto on. I checked all the safety switches I could find. Checked the fuses. Checked the relays. Looked for loose conections, found none. The dash lights come on, but it doesn't turn over. Any ideas on how to get mowing again, grass is getting pretty high!

I have the 4610 with a MX6 cutter. I agree with your concerns, but mine stalls out if I try to engage much below 1,500rpm's. I'm still trying to find the lowest rpm's that will engage the pto but now stall the tractor - somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500. It is a bit of a jolt.

Do you have the 72" MMM? Mine has the locking device to hold up the linkage when the MMM is not installed, but it did not appear that I could raise the mower high enough to engage the pins with the mower installed. I'm sure my manual will cover this, I have been busy as a one armed paper hanger since taking delivery on my tractor. I've only got 1.6 hrs on it, and have not had time to fully check out the features nor read my manuals. If you can indeed lock the 72" MMM in the up position, that would work great for me.

I doubt there's a hydraulic pump seal problem on a new tractor but you might check the engine oil level. On many tractors a bad pump seal can leak hydraulic oil into the crankcase. That's about the only place oil can get out of the system if it's not going onto the ground or into new implements.

The well water holding tank is PVC and holds about 1000 gallons. Would this be something that is usefull in a fire situation, or would something more substantial be required. What about automatic fire sprinklers? What would be required in the way of a pump and what would be required in the way of a resevoir?<br>

Also, almost every home in the area seems to be covered with wood siding. Is there a reason why stucco isn't used? Is it problematic in some way in the colder climates. Does it not hold heat well. It seems that it would be cheaper to me than wood or synthetic siding, and much more fire resistant.<br>

Also, regarding those new imitation roofing shingles made from concrete, how much heavier are they? Is extra structural support required? How well do they work in cold and snow climate?

Great shots! I saw these the other day at the same moment that you were (up/down) loading to the site. Could not register comments at that point in time.

Unfortunately, I never have my camera handy to grab such photos. Case in point, this past winter, I heard a terrific whine heading south over the lake in VT, and in my direction. When I stood up and perched out from the barn in the deep snow, I could see what appeared to be AF-1 descending rapidly towards the lake. All that I could think that the pilot was gonna try to set this bird down on the frozen lake, certainly is big enough.

As I ran back to the house to grab my camera, not knowing for sure what was going to happen next, the bird took an extreme hard right bank turn heading west. This baby leaned over so far, I thought the thing was a sure hit in the mountain that it was approaching. You really had to be there at that moment to appreciate just how low of altitude she was flying at. To this day...I still wonder why it missed the treetops!

Your photos depict an era of aviation that tells a tale like no other. Congrats on those pics!

I just got some info on the Jinma today off the web. Anyone have a feel for whether the Q18 is big enough to handle life on a 10 horse farm? ie hay,shavings,manure etc? How about the kubota Bx1500 or Bx1800?

Make sure you get the winter version of winshield washer fluid. Much of what is sold does not guard against freezing.

The calcim chloride soloutions are not cheap at about 5 lbs per gallon of water ( for -20f antifreeze) that gets expensive fast. I think I could buy and use cheap antifreeze for about the same money with no rust problems. I know it will not weigh as much as the calcium solution would but oh well...

How much do you guys pay for calcium chloride ? Here it is about $1.00/pound. at 150 lbs or so for a 14.9X26 tire that is not cheap.

To bust rusted bolts nothing beats PB-BLASTER,soak the bolt/nut 0on the exhaust manifold and in the morning with slow and steady twist, bingo.
To coat something I have yet to find anything that works better than FLUID-FILM and the only place I have been able to locate this stuff is (home and country) also the parent of DR CHIPPER.

I have a need for a small utility trailer to haul around our property (not on roads). I'd like it to do things like haul firewood around, move equipment between buildings, haul fenceposts and barbed wire, etc. It would need to have decent tires and (I think) some minimal suspension for rolling over rough ground. What do you guys use for a trailer like this? Northern has some two and four-wheeled agri-fab trailers that looks like they'd work. Anyone have one of these? How does it work?

The PHD is the most difficult to manage, and few easy solutions. When stored, mine is chained to a corner of the barn, and hanging from a stand I built. When hooking it up, I use a hand winch to raise or lower it. Still a pain, but now its done safely and no problems. Many owners eventually build customized racks, stand, or frames to hold them. The one that's best is the one that works for you. I saw one for sale on Ebay once, and I'm sure there are more on the net.

I've heard algae is a problem in cold areas only. Moisture probably comes with the cold, or moisture condenses in the tank if the temperatures are right. Marine supply shops carry a diesel additive to keep algae from growing. It's also not a problem if you only store small amount of diesel for a short time. I imagine jet fuel tanks get pretty cold at times, maybe that's why they get it too.
