The level also will vary somewhat depending on whether it's checked when the loader and 3ph are up or down. Like Art said some new implements come from dealers with the cylinders charged and some don't. If you've hooked up a new implement (especially something like a wood splitter) it will take quite a bit from the reservoir.

Certainly looked like a B-17 to me.

No I do not listen to talk radio I find very little constructive talk there. A lot pointing of fingers and very little solutions or logic. Nearest I can figure it appeals to the same crowd that loves pro wrestling trash talk. About the closest my dial turns is Dr. Dobson.

I have the R-4 tires on my 4410. When I had the loader installed and tires filled. The mechanic told me he put 55 gallons in each tire. Seems like alot for a tire that size but I was not there to see them measure out the fluid. I can tell you that it made a HUGE difference in weight (as I found out when I drove it up on my trailer.

Buy a new one. No seriously, the last time I fooled with one, I said that a disc mower was the only way to go. Maybe mr. Corriher can shed some light. He is NH. Lets see how good his service is. I used to work for NH, but it has been so long that I can't remember exactly what to do to relace the belts on the old 472's. Maybe if you refresh my memory..... I can give some help. Seems that there is an adjusment bolt that is the key.

Good luck! I just bought a 4310 about 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier! The product has been outstanding and the dealer has been great to work with. In my opinion we have bought the best.

Is your ground wet? The BX 2200 would be a wiser choice as it is lighter ground contact. Just think of being able to have a great looking lawn and not have to areate it all the time. The deck is suspended so it doesn't ride on the lawn but hangs from the tractor. The low center of gravity makes it good on hillsides. The lower hoods as well as the tractor in general will get under trees easier and with the overhang of a 60" deck on a tractor that width would make trimming easy. Unless you had enough acrege to justify going to a 72" deck you wouldn't need much more, or would there be much difference in the ability of the tractor.

Billy, I can't think of a manufacturer that does build 100% of all parts and pieces. That was the way for many companies years ago. Today it is hard to tell who is building what part from one day to the next. I like hybrids, when you take two different types of designs and designers and put them together things only get better. Kubota is very diverse and owns many companies, just like Deere that builds many of there components used in there equipment. It would be very expensive to buy tooling and machinery to build all the different compononts of a tractor and do it consistant enough with a high degree of satisfaction. They do build a lot of the tractor from the drawing boards up and out. I relate to Kubota in tractors, as to Sony in electronics.

whew...I fell much better now too....the dealer showed me the crate that my new 3010 came in and told me he had to finish asembling it, and I just assumed he meant stuff like steering wheel, ROPS and wheels / tires and such....

I sure was hoping that the engine and transmission came already installed...

It might be a good joke to the dealers, but its 15-20 grand of our money that we're spending, and I really want a dealer who shoots straight and doesnt kid around about things like that! I dont mind kidding around about muffler bearings and changing the air in the tires, but I would of seriously considered not buying that machine if the engine had to be installed, then who would the joke of been on?

is that rockett Cafe still open?..that used to be a Friday evening staple for me and the wife....I moved up north (Flower Mound) in 1993, after I got laid off from the Times Herald....I built on 13 acres just off off I-35 / 387 exit....sold my place to a horseman who got moved up here to work on the Supercollider!!...We drove by the place a few months ago, still the same barbed wire fence, but man has Waxahachie changed!! Got a TSC where the old WalMart used to be I noticed..wish that was there when I was living out there....there sure are some beautiful old Victorian houses in that part of the country...those sure were some good times back in the days!

I have a 4400 that I use to pull around a 513 rotary cutter, (among other things). I originally bought the cutter with a shear pin drive but eventually installed a clutch drive because I got so feed up with breaking the shear pin even when I would engage at idle.

There's a hell of a lot of torque generated and any slop in the shear pin hole will cause the pin to snap. I even tried a class higher in the shear bolt to no avail, (didn't want to risk breaking something by going higher). (BTW, my dealer eventually did say that he sees a lot this, and sell a lot of shear pins as well!)

The clutch system has been working fine. It's designed and built to take the stress. I figure at worse in a few years I'll need to replace the plates.

Glad you survived to tell the tale. Life is fragile and extinguished so quickly.

Those sights and sounds will stay with you all of your life. I tipped a tractor over nearly fifty years ago and I can still remember the details like it was yesterday.

I got away with bumps, bruises and the shirt torn off my back. The whipping I got from my grandfather was worse, by far. If he had gotten his way I would not have eaten for a week. Thank God grandma had apron pockets big enough to smuggle sandwiches into the bedroom where I was confined.

Tractors without ROPS and old cars without seatbelts should be relegated to the back of the lot where they can keep the weeds company until they rust into oblivion.

DKI The old M has about 5.5 face cords and little JD has almost 7 on it. Wife runs an embroidery business (if the IRS reads this) and sells to fire wood guy and he sells to us. It is a good arrangement. It is also a lot easier on equipment, and me, than going to the woods.

Bought tub spreader at auction for $35.00 full of "HUMUS" had to do some cutting and fixing...

Have 30+ face cord of wood at boys (oldest son) house to cut up and split yet this year. We cleared some land for him to build a big garage/shop.

Have to build a new wood shed this year, it's in progress now, my old wood shed has been enclosed and I have 2000+ board feet of lumber stickered up drying and other toys stored in it. Plus all of Boys stuff that should be in his garage if he'll ever get off his butt and get it started.

Wife said I could no longer use the cover by the pond for wood because that was built for pinic cover on Sunday afternoon Bar-B-Q's rain or shine...

Too much to do and not sure where to find the time...

Speaking of wood, that is what I will be doing AGAIN today. Hopefully one of the last Sundays I will have to remove lumber from my yard due to ice storm damage. I will go after the small trees today and that will leave two or three large ones to pick at this summer that are not half down blocking my mowing operation at this point. My fields/woods are a mess, tree limbs everywhere :<

mark, I noticed this morning takeing a quick peek at the Winchester web site that they are makeing a '94 chambered in the .480 ruger. I thiught that would be of interest to you being a wheel gun fan as well. I know what I have read about this one but nothing more. You think it will gain any yardage ove the 44 mag out of a 20" tube ? I have to admit to still being very drawn to the 454 Casull in a lever gun.

How many hours is on it???? It sounds like a fuel starvation problem. What condition are the lines in? Bends or kinks? Rubber sections are fuel rated and not comming apart inside?

CHECK ALL OF THE CHEAP AND EASY TO FIX FIRST!

Are you pouring water on the injector pump while it is skipping and hard at work. Or did it get a chance to rest a little while you got the water?

If it is the injector pump I suspect you would have a problem across the board with it. But strange things do happen. Unless you have something very weird I would not support vapor lock theory.

Does this model have a fuel pump seperate from the injector pump? Or is it buitl in?

Also to buy into Tom are you sure it is a good grade of fuel?

I think it takes moisture to support bacteria and algae so the problem really is old fuel and poor storage that allows condensation fo form in storage tanks. Most the algae problems I've about have been related to practices of fuel suppliers. It's good to get fuel from reasonable high-volume dealers.<br>

after many years of owning tractor trailer units, I always used Howes lubricant. THe name tells it all, lubricant.. Power service and most of the rest of them are mostly alcohol. At least with Howes, you freeze, and they pay up. I have an 01 quad, 4 X 4 short bed, 6sp tranny with the HO motor.. 16 to 21 MPG and it is continuos. I do the worse and that is 4 mile trips here and there. Once, with a heavy tail wind, on the way to Boston I got 26.

AC: Thanks for the explanation. I never knew why sub-panels aren't bonded--just that it's one of the things inspectors always check. An inspector told me that the utility did some research and the even with proper installations, typical grounds start deteriorating after only five years in the soils around here.

I guess that a 3-point transfer switch breaks the neutral from the utility and makes it to the generator feed. The service ground is still on the panel side of the transfer switch so the generator neutral is connected to the service ground. My generator panel is a little different.

The important thing as I understand is to ensure that a generator has its neutral bonded to a good ground somewhere and ideally at only one point. A floating neutral can produce 120V of ground potential.

My generator does have a bonded neutral and ground as it has to for standalone operation. I connected the generator ground into the shed's supplemental ground and I leave it that way. I suppose that does give me two points of grounding and maybe some loss of efficiency through ground loops. However, then I'm sure the generator is always grounded when I use it as a standalone. Otherwise I'd have to make sure the feed line to the house was connected just for the ground connection.

I had a sideline sound and lighting buz for ten years and grounding can become a specialty all its own.
