maybe you can get the factory to repair this under the warranty?...I mean, does the owners manual actually say NOT to drive this tractor into ponds???.....<br>

sorry my last message posted while I was still typing. Still getting used to the shortcuts on this laptop :)
Reason I was saying it struck close to home is, I have a photo that looks just like that of one of my tractors. While back, it was getting late and I really wanted to get a area bush hogged and figured I'd hit it real quick and get home. I knew the slope ( I thought ) and ran straight up it making good progress when I realized ( too late ) the brush hid about a three - four foot wide depression and I hit it just to the left. Not deep at all but the brush hid it well. At first glace it was not evident as I was clearing some very heavy brush. tractor fell away to the left pretty quick and I leaped off safely with only a few minor injuries( no ROPS - fossil tractor ). Lucky me ! A very terrifing sight seeing that bush hog running wide open as I leapt away ( over ) from the tractor rolling into the brush.
I made all the fundamental mistakes and I certainly knew better than to do what I was doing. Guess I had become too comfortable. Can't say enough about taking some time to walk the land first and get a feel for it. Take a machete along to cut thick brush. scary how quick the land can change on you.

Now that you mention it, a neighbor of mine, use to work for "Clean Harbors", a environmental waste handling company out here. He told me one time about something that dissolved oil spills etc. but again, really did not have a need to retain that particular type of information.
Some of MY injectors must have been clogged at the time so that I was unable to retain the info, don'tcha know?

The manual says to adjust the engine speed to 1500rpm and engage the PTO. Then adjust to desired speed with throttle. I will see how it works tomorrow. I dont think it will matter on something like a chipper or a pump, but on a 6ft field mower it will strain the clutches.

The price does include a Erskine two stage. Tractor is $14400 plus $4000 for the Erskine either 5' or 6' I'm not sure though,I'll find out Tues. Plus tax.

I also have a 332 with 50" deck and 54" snow blade with hydraulic attachment that I'm planning on selling. Mine only has 398 hours on it, not cosmeticly perfect, guy before me stored it outside for over a year. But everything works great and really isn't what I would consider rough. Only reason I'm selling is to get the 2210 with 62" and FEL. I'm going to ask around $4700 - 5000 for starters, then maybe take $4200 - 4400 I hope, per my JD sales rep advice..

The Kubota 2400 would give you a bit more power than the 4100 and would be about as small as I would want for landscape/loader work. I owned a 4100, nice tractor but I thought it a bit underpowered and front end heavy with the loader attached. I like the R-4 rubber, but there is a downside to everything, check the prior threads there are plenty on tires.

Just personal preference, but I did not care for the J/D belly mower either. It is not a full floating deck and does not mow as nice as the Kubota or N/H on uneven ground.

I recently purchased a 2210, and mine has the turf tires. I also purchased it with a loader, and a 62" mid-mount deck. I haven't had it on a hill, but it appears to have more than enough bite for the loader. I can dig without any problems. I also purchased a 60" box scraper, and it works fine with that as well. I think you may be happy with the turf tires. The tractor is heavy enough, and the four wheel drive does the rest.

The B7100 had NO optional PS kits available for its production run. In the mid eighties, as the B4200 -B9200 series evolved, orange had an optional PS kit available, however it was not as we know PS to be today. It basically consisted of an add-on cylinder to the tie-rod for steering assist. Most found that it was an expensive waste of money that offered little to no improvement to the steering function, and ultimately stayed with "SAS", or strong arm steering. <br>

Later years presented a rebirth of sorts, as the B7300 came out. This unit offered PS, I believe, and, was virtually the same tractor as once was the B7100HST. What you may try, is to locate a PS unit for the B7300HST, and incorporate it onto your B7100.<br>

With these compacts, I have had both...with and without the PS option. My B7100 with FEL, my B5200's with FEL, all had no PS. My B1750 has PS and FEL. Truthfully, carrying a heavy load of wet gravel in the FEL, is virtually the same w/or w/out PS. Bear in mind that you are rolling most of the time anyway...in tight working areas, PS is warranted and desirable, however for the most part, all I see that it does is allows me to tear up the lawn easier - with turfs.<br>
( I know that there are the critics against what I stated, there always will be, but that is my experience )<br>

I have a 2850 28 hp Kubota tractor. When it has been run hard for an hour or so and is hot, the engine power drops off (almost stalling) and developes a terrible skip. When the tractor cools down it runs fine again. The fuel filter has been changed, the gas cap is vented OK. The tractor has not been run out of fuel. Suspecting a temperature related problem with the injector pump, I ran cold water over the pump when the problem developed (while the tractor was running) and the problem completely dissapeared. When I continued to run the tractor, the problem came back again in about 10-15 minutes as the pump heated up again. I repeated this 3 times with exactly the same result.
Does anyone know what could be happening with this pump? Could be cracked or have a bad seal? Can it be rebuilt?

Sounds like fun to me. Probably seems a bit tame to a 444 Marlin fan. Speaking of Ackley Inproved cartridges the one I have always wanted was a 218 ackley improved. I am still curious to hear about that 416 !

i bought a 28 last year.i use it to mow smaller fields and my yard.i got to say IT'S A KEEPER.the kubota dealer says the new deck is for the commercial mowers.the stamp deck does an excellent job but the welded deck will take more abuse.you know like bouncing off trees,houses,key stone walls,ect, ect.you get my drift.we,ve alway had front runners in the past.the only thing i miss is the 4wd.good luck

Although I do not have the experience and would be considered a novice compared to Mark & Art, I do own the BX22 and I am more than satisfied with it. I bought it to do many of the things you mention. I used to hired a backhoe every year to do some of the things around my lot that with a shovel and wheelbarrow would be way to much. So far it has perform better than I thought. You have to be patient with the larger tree stumps but they will come out.<br>
It is my suspicion that your dealer can get his hands on a B7500 alot easier than the BX22, but again thats just my guess.
