Had never heard of them until today. Drove and used a T450. Very nice compact with a 4cyl Kubota diesel engine.

Can anyone share opinions on this particular brand?

Cutter , Although I understand where your heart is at, I believe that will eliminate GW's second term. That is the problem with new laws and amendment changes they sometimes sound good, but can come back to bite you.

Ya boatman is right if you need to replace it welding would result in replacing the bucket,(IF you ever wore it out) but i still think your going to need more than 2 bolts on it for strength. Sorry for last post, must of had a brain fart.

I have an old D12 A/C that has been maintained with utility sae 10 motor oil in the gearbox and hydraulic system since it has been in the family (40 years). I have a jug of sae 20 and wondered if mixing it would harm the old girl. There has been an increased "gear noise" over the last few seasons, perhaps a bit heavier oil may help that? The old timers around here seem to think just about anything is OK for them, but I am not so sure. I only use it in the summer to bush hog but I don't want to cause harm. I was thinking perhaps UDT might be OK as well, no manuals for this and everyone I ask has a different answer!

Good call. As long as the tractor is under warranty I would use the super UDT. I'm just coming upon my 50 hour service and purchased a 2 1/2 gal jug of Super UDT yesterday. Super price they have. Cost me $39.00 plus tax.

This seems like a very good discussion to have. It'll probably get everybody using the same definitions and interpretations.

What Bill and I seem to be using is the deflection from horizontal in degrees of a right triangle where the long leg is the horizontal distance and the short leg is the rise and the slope is the hypotenuse. The rise divided by the horizontal should be the tangent of that angle and the angle can be looked up in trig tables. Hummm I'm pretty sure my table was in degrees than radians (whatever those are). It's been awhile.

Anyway, deflection from horizontal seems like a pretty good interpretation of a slope in degrees to me. It is interesting to hear of other definitions for degree slope.

I couldn't agree with Murf more. A point I was trying to make is that percent grade is easy to measure, calculate and interpret. If slopes in degrees are used in tractor safety recommendations, I can't understand why.

If they are like the kingpins I've replaced on 60's trucks, the bushings need to be reamed to size. The rebuild kits came with a reamer that had a long shank to maintain alignment between the top and bottom bushings. The reamers were a bit special so it'd be good to know if reaming is required. Oh yes, at least on the trucks I did; forget about getting the pins our of the axle loops without a torch. A roll of safety wire was needed to put them back together. Just a few things that might be needed that might not be mentioned in a manual.

Ya any thing that has the letters JD on it is through the roof! some thing's for tractor is best to get through them but as far as implements go i'll try to make it before i'll pay there out of this world price.I'm sure they make quality imps though, At least they should be as for the price they try to get.But if I can put something togather and it will work for me thats what I'll do.also it keeps me busy in the mornings before work, and i enjoy trying to craft things.

Is the 40HP large enough to use the appropriate implements to da a 15 acre hay feild? A dealer told me that it is a marginal horsepower and should go to a TC45 or TN series? I don't want to keep going up in price though. What do you think?

My local NH dealer just gave me his rock bottom TC33D package price. $22,580 for a TC33D, 4WD, SS, loaded R4s, step kit, 7308 loader, Kasco Quick Attach loader adapter, 5' Land Pride rotary cutter, 5' Land Pride box scraper with slip clutch, Land Pride 3ph quick hitch adapter, two additional single spool valves and hoses, hydraulic top link, parts and service manuals, all setup and delivered. Does this sound reasonable?

I was out tractor dreaming the other day and had the exact same question regarding the engines. After close under hood inspections it turns out that a tag on the engines indicate that they are from the same "engine family", but have different model numbers.

I have had chronic overheating problems with my Yanmar 1510, until I finally got sick of it and tore into the thing. Turns out the water pump impeller was severly eroded and the radiator needed to be boiled out. After I rebuilt the water pump and cleaned up the radiator it has not overheated since. At lease its easy to work on...

Grey, CAREFULLY get it back to the point where the light comes on and quickly put a thermometer in the rad and check the temperature that way, also check and make sure it looks like you have good flow.

It could be a bad sensor, gauge, or even just a bad wire to the sensor. If the temp is higher than it should be then by all means have the rad checked and or repaired. Sometimes the rad just needs a good flushing to get rid of accumulated sediment, a garden hose to the rad, alternating between inlet and outlets until you get nothing but clean water coming out will often do the trick.

Something is fishy in Kubotaland. The comparison indicates that the 4310 has 7-16 front and 12.4-24 rear tires (no type specified), but the JD brochure doesn't show those sizes as being offered.

I have a small Deere garden tractor LX188 that will not start. It cranks and has never had a problem starting before. I replaced the fuel filter and plugs to no avail. Is there a fuel pump on an LX188? It acts like its not getting any fuel. The Kubota forum just helped me fix my compact tractor. Hope someone here has some advice.
