Hi all, I'm replacing the d950 in my kubota b8200. I got a remanufactured engine but the fuel cam has the wrong end for the hydo pump. I want to swap the cams and I'm wondering, are these cams press-fit into the bearings they ride on ? The cam is in awful tight and I don't want to force it out. Service manual shows how to remove it but I could use some advice from any engine rebuilders out there. I've removed the fuel pump and the plate that holds the cam in place but it won't slide out as I'd expect. I've build gas engines but this is my first venture into the diesel engine world.

Thing break with wear etc. but not fixing known defects is asking for law suits. Unfortunately these large companies have their army of lawyers to determine the risk. If it is cheaper to deal with a law suit if and when the person is killed then we don recall the tractors. I realise this is not large money on on tractor but I think Bernie is angry at the fact that they knew it was a defect in the tx and chose not to recall and risk his life and any other that had a tractor like his.

Bernie I was also looking for an 855 project tractor. I don't need the motor.

Youu should be fine using a two bottom even in heavy clay with that size tractor. As mentioned you might need to go to a 16" bottom with industrial tires. Remember if you do have a hydro to get into low range in hard soil or at least medium range. You should be working at near full throttle to have the hydro at it's best for pulling work.

Linesplice - The only way I can imagine what you describe is if you have the top link too far extended. The three point hitch has two lower "draft links" and one upper "top link." The two lower draft links attach to unmovable pins on the mower. The top link should attach between two 6 to 8 inch long pieces of metal which pivot freely between two metal uprights and what you call the thin metal ribs (stays or braces) which go to the back of the mower. When viewed fron the side, the "point" where the tractor's top link attaches to those 6 to 8 inch long pieces of metal should be below where those 6 to 8 inch long pieces of metal actually attach to the uprights and the "thin metal ribs" of the mower. The "point" should also be directly above where the lower draft links attach to the mower. (The attachment point for the top link and the attachment points for the draft links should all lie in the same plane, and that plane should be perpendicular to the ground. Pardon my inability to describe this.) As wolbert said, when the rear wheel or wheels of the mower follow the contour of the ground, the two 6 to 8 inch long metal pieces will swivel between the upright braces and the braces which go to the rear of the mower. This swiveling action is the functional equivalent of lengthening or shortening the top link and is what actually allows the rear end of the mower to rise and fall. The only real purpose of the top link in a situation like this is to be able to lift the mower off the ground for transport. As you raise the draft links via the rockshaft, the rear of the mower will stay on the ground until those metal pieces to which the top link is attached swivel out to maximum extent. Only then will the rear of the mower begin to lift off the ground. If you never have need to raise the implement entirely off the ground, you actually don't need to use a top link, and you have functionally gone back in time to a two point hitch.

Can the b7300 cut it with a 16hp? I have a woods 650 backhoe on one of my B5200's,(13.5hp at engine and 11hp at pto). No problem at all, even with my everyday 16" scoop. Bear in mind, hydraulic "power" is not measured in HP, rather the displacement of hyd. fluid in a given period of time. One should not be running the hoe at full or even close to full engine rpm...this is dangerous territory. By operating at this speed, your backhoe will offer extremely "jerky" movements at best, and, will induce tremendous stress on the tractor as well, with or without subframe, not to mention possible bodily injury. I am typically operating at about 1500 rpm,(engine), with plenty of power for the "nasties".

As far as the tiller, I have been using a 50" BEFCO tiller since 1987. Plenty of power again, just realize the material consistency that you are tilling in. Clay will give you considerable more weight as one lifts the unit out of mother earth, as opposed to soil...and the water concentration is key as well.

If you look around a bit, you can find a unit with a reversable top link bracket. This reversable bracket allows one to either lift the implement completely, bearing all the weight on the 3pt lift assembly, or, merely lift the nose of the implement so as to lift minimal weight if any and keep a weight distribution on the swivel wheel assembly on the tail of the implement. Pretty slick...I use one on my 5' bush hog with my B5200's.

I noticed a while back in your profile you have an M. Good machines, I think. I find it interesting to keep track of who has or has had older tractors and now has compacts.

I'm hoping to have a Super C in the next year or two. Will try to get a belly mower set up for the A and use my NH compact for backhoe and boxblade work only. The SC for working the garden.

Look at the Wood's manual in detail. Get out your welder, chop saw, buy the appropriate steel and have a ball. On my Wood's subframe made for the Wood's 7500 backhoe on my Kubota B2150, I could have made it much cheaper than 400 bucks and more heavy duty if I had the manual. It shouldn't be that hard after looking how Wood's did it, but then again that is just me, my welder and chop saw talking.

No easy way to do it other than hard work. Get yourself some sort of a instrument resembling an ice spud and start chopping. Spraying with a pressure washer takes the dirt out so you can get to the vegetation matter making it somewhat easier. Some times mowing your rye down with a bushhog makes the tilling easier but vegetation wrapped around the tines just goes with job.

Plots good for you, nothing like a woman that appreciates a real toy. Depending on your land a 4710 will run a smaller baler with a small wagon. I would not put it on a side hill and I don't think I'd put a 5205 on very much of a slope. I remember well having to use skids under the wagon tire as a brake to keep the wagon and baler from passing the tractor on several slopes.

extra weight really does make a differance was able to dig out stump this weekend with the addition of my new weights and cutter hanging on back, could do nothin with it 2 weeks ago but spin and make ruts. the added 250 lbs made it feel like a differant tractor.wife is back filling hole from stump in one of the pics.

Thanks a lot for the links. It looks like JD has some trouble with accuracy in documentation. I'm looking at the 4000 TEN Series sales brochure, and it shows both the 4310 and 4410 having 91.3 cubic inch displacement. Of course it also shows the 4310 as being 117" long and the 4410 as being 68" long.

I think that the BX will take that grade mowing without a problem. Wheel weights are nice and less aggrivatition.

David - In similar situations, I've found a sharp utility knife to be very useful. Maybe not the easiest method, but it sure beats trying to unwrap the grass stems from the shaft.
