I am in the market for a small tractor. I can't decide between the JD 2210 or Kubota BX-2200. Can someone please give me some input which one is the better tractor and why? Has anyone had any problems with their JD 2210 and if so, did you have problems with servicing? I have read several complainants about Kubota dealers not having parts in-stock!

What region do you live in? I am looking for a JD 2210 and I live in Texas. I was quoted $12,800 for the tractor, 54" mid-mower, loader, and box blade.

I am also having a difficult time deciding between the two tractors. I have received quotes of $12,800 for the JD 2210 with loader, 54" mower, and box blade. I received a quote of $12,525 for the Kubota BX-2200 with the same implements. Is that a good deal on either or both?

"Big enough" is a function of your pocketbook and your patience. The 7500 FEL will hold between 5 and 6 cubic feet and it has enough power to lift that volume of wet soil and more.<br>

It also has plenty of power, and more importantly the gearing, to handle a box scraper at least as wide as the tractor (48 inches).<br>

Tractors of this class will do most any job, they are just a bit slower than the next size up. This is especially true when it comes to running a mower or a brush cutter.

In general the rear tends to give a better cut from my experience. The main question you need to ask is whether you need to pick up leaves or needles. With the rear you cannot blow the material into wind rows for removal or add a vacuum.

I have a Wood's 5000 Chipper/Shredder, it can handle logs up to 5 1/4 round. The horse power required is 15 to 30 hp...

My JD 790 has 30 hp engine, 25 hp PTO, will handle most logs with no problem but large (5 in.) dry Oak logs can stall the engine if not held back. For that reason I recommend a manual feed...

I have an older 950 in pieces. Sheet metal rough, low range doesn't work, turf tires in good shape. Engine shot and apart. Hydraulics worked well last time it ran. The question is: Do I part it out, sell it all or find an engine? I have an offer of $400- is that right? Where could I get an engine and how much would it cost?

Long does not manufacture tractors. They sell what is known as badge-engineered tractors,built by someone else with Long's name on them. The 2610 is from Universal (UTB) of Romania. They do have some problems with bolts coming loose from time to time,especially when loaders are installed. How many hours on this tractor? When was the last time you tightened the loader frame mounting bolts? What about the tranny bellhousing to engine block bolts?

I have seen just about every brand of non-framed tractor come apart over the years on loader use,when the bolts were not checked and retightened over the years.

Widespread scam. I've had my JD332 for sale now about 3mos, sold a couple weeks back. During that time I had 3 of these - hey I'll send you a cashiers check for twice what its worth and you give the rest to me, or my shipper, or my mistress. Mostly broken english. In each case I asked for a phone number to discuss. One guy send me a number and address in Liverpool that didn't exist. Never heard from the other 2.

If it looks to good to be true, it usually is.

its just a little plug in the middle, should be painted orange. If you haven't had it in water then it should be fine. In the newer manual there in a diagram, if you need more help just email me and i can send you the diagram. Just get on my website and you can find the email.. any of them will go to me.

How about cutting the board so that the cut lines up with a supporting cross member and then securing it with screws through the cross member......

or using a Simpson Strong Tie product to restore the integrity of the lumber?

If I were doing it this way I would alternate the cuts with for and aft cross members to ensure the maximum possible strength.

As you stated before to freeze and cause damage you must have moisture.
Sand at the side of the road is not hard find if the climate is dry. In the Canadian prairies you can have dust storms in the middle of the winter.
This is related to putting your clothes on the line at -40 F and them drying in a few hours. The process is called sublimation. This is were a solid goes to a gas with out entering a liquid state. In the lab or food prep it is called freeze drying.

There are several types, spring, bending bar, and electronic. They vary in sensitivity from needing about 25% load change to down to about a 5% load change. The electronic are the most flexible as far as accurate adjustment. Those are currently only available on the larger farm tractors. Depeending on the type used on the JD tractors there might not be appropriate room to install with the top-n-tilt cylinder.

I have owned a 1983 650 for about 10 years with 1100 hrs. The only problem I've had was this year the bucket hydrolic control valve body gave out. The tractor is only limted buy its weight when it comes to working it. I,m looking to buy a wood chipper does anyone have any experince or suggestions.
