Jack, so to speak when it isn't running it won't build pressure. I would not be doing anymore runs up a hill low on oil then you have to. A hydro transmission will run indefinitly when luberication is not a problem, but when there is no lubrication then it can also be very expensive to fix.

I have a landscaping/excavating business also. I use a New Holland TC33D which is perfect for landscaping. The 4x4 and Super Steer options are the way to go. It will pull a fully loaded 6' box scraper with no problem.
Price without loader out the door was $13.500, included in the package was a spring-suspended seat, cruise control, industrial tires, tilt steering wheel.

I don't want to sound cheap here Dennis, but, a good many of us offer free advice to many, on alot of subjects. To receive a "teaser" email notification and then have to waste another ten minutes or more trying to find the response in TP,(not toilet paper), seems a little off key to me. Even the prompt link in the teaser email doesn't respond.

You did not identify what year this B1550 is or whether it was a gear shift or hydrostatic. Without this info, merely a guessing game. However, we'll average it and say about $6200 - $6700 merely for the tractor. Add another $1500 for the loader, and usually, a backhoe for this size orange, will be between $3500 - $4500, depending on make, age, and condition. Keep in mind, whenever a compact such as this one is offered with a hoe,check out how "straight" the tractor is...does it have a subframe to capture the shock and weight distribution from the attached hoe, and is the bracketry clean from bends and re-welds. Key points. The same follows true for the hoe, any re-work would signify an overworked unit. Again, you id'd it to be nice and clean, chances are, it still has a long life ahead of itself.

The B7200 that you wonder about is not posted with any hour meter reading. That being said, on an average,I'll base my estimate.

The tractor itself as you pointed out has "VG" sheetmetal, with reasonable rubber, and a power angle plow, NO ROPS.

The price breaks down as follows:
B7200DT 4WD about $6000 - $7000, with a subtraction for NO ROPS of about $500.00, installation labor included. (point worth mentioning, in many states, the selling dealer is now being held responsible for liability incase of injury as a result of rollover injuries sustained without the use of ROPS). Kubota has a safety program in place for about $150.00, for any given s/n 'd unit without factory ROPS, to secure a retrofit kit ROPS.

The power angle plow ADDS value to the unit of as much as $1000.00, if in good to excellent shape as this unit/option is no longer available from orange, only the manual angle kits are in limited quantities, so I'm told.

The other point of value, is what the geographic region bares. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

My trucks haven't seen the inside of the garage in over a year, but the BX22 has! When we move south I'm planning on putting up a building, I've already put a down payment on a 35 X 56 X 15 foot metal building. that should be enough room for all of the equipment and my shop so my wife can have the house back! I'm still amazed at the digging power this little machine has!

Another problem could be gearing.
My brother has an 8n ford.( I think its an 8n) with no low range.
It is geared far to fast in its lowest gear for tilling.

The TC35 is the same frame size as the 40 and 45 so the 758C should work fine. I don't know the answers to your other questions, but I am very satisfied with my NH and I think that it is very well built.

I have a dk35 and cannot find a drain plug on the bottom of the clutch housing.It says in my owners manuual(pg.41) to drain it after 50 hrs of use. No diagram or picture to show the location of this elusive plug.Ive looked the tractor over but cannot tell if there is a drain plug on the clutch housing .I dont want to just start pulling bolts to find the plug.Anyone know where to find it?

Slowrev - don't you have a position on the draft sensing control where it is effectively shutoff? (max. insensitivity) - every example I've seen described had that. At that position, movement of the hyd. toplink *shouldn't* be "seen" by the draft control. (The JD is "top link sensing" - I think some of the bigger NH units are bottom-link sensing which might eliminate conflict as well). In any case, something I'll have to ask the dealer before I ever order.

I have put 250hrs on my 790 in year and half from brushhog to snowplow and I do a lot of woodcutting/hauling (in Michigan)on hilly terrain - I love it. No problems except with the battery early on which the dealer fixed. The dealer is a big key - my third tractor and was true for each. Once you determine hp the next BIG thing for you is your work deck - access to all levers/entry/exit, etc. Rent one and try it out is best or go to the dealer and spend some time on one don't just drive it back and forth once.

Thanks again Art! You must spend a lot of time answering peoples questions here....you have been a big help many times. I think I got a fair deal on the 1740, it runs well, tires all match and are fair, bucket controls nice, just need a little TLC with the drive clutches or whatever is in there. I'm just going to use it to move some top soil for a couple weeks then will likely sell it.
