Thanks for the info. What I am understanding is that with the use of sleeves (or drilling the subsoiler for larger pins), I can use the Cat 0 subsoiler after modifications? The smaller traingle will not make a difference? Will it affect performance? (am I loosing stability? meaning will I have to be more careful when I use the subsoiler because it will not have the larger triangle that a Cat 1 has?). or do I just have to figure if it is worth the $50.00 I will save to buy the sleeves or drill the holes larger or will it be too much aggrevation and just buy a Cat 1 subsoiler.

I got the pedals figured. What I'm confused about is which hydraulic oil to use. According to the chart (for my climate) in the Owner's Manual, I should use Hy-Guard. According to the dealer, I should use Low Viscosity Hy-Guard.

I even emailed JD and all they would tell me was "I would recommend following the advice of your JD dealer. Generally speaking, they are your best source for product information as well as parts & services. They have the knowledge, training, experience and resources to help and advise you."

If that's the case, why print a chart in the OM?

I have a Landpride rear mower, with 3 blades. The dealer told me they came in sets of 3. I asked him if I could buy one but you said he didn't know what he'd do with the other 2. I think he would have sold me 1, if I would have pressed the issue.

Cap/B: I have gone to the "scoop up" FEL weight concept too.
I went to a used sports equipment store (garage sales would be even cheaper) and bought some used weight lifting plates.
Size does not matter much as long as you have the two largest match so it rolls well.

I strung them on a piece of one inch pipe. At the moment I am using 300# (about all I need for my small tractors) but there is plenty of room left on a 48" bar to stack on 500# or more.
If I need a little help rolling it into the bucket, a 2x4 or a another pipe applied like a lever to the center of the weight bar scoots it right in.

I think I'd try it w/o front tire loading and see how often you find yourself carrying weight in the bucket to balance the tractor. I might also check if suitcase weights are compatible with the loader.

I've heard that adapter valves for filling tires are inexpensive and it's pretty to do with with a drill motor pump. I haven't heard of any safety issues about pumping window washer fluid with drill motor pumps--guess somebody will say if there are.

Huummmm! I wonder if bulk diesel deliveries come in dyed and clear flavours? Could be that 4wd would have been good for evading DOT revenuers. No suggestion of advocation or intend here on anybody's part of course.

I know, I'm off topic. I just have this image of trying to hide a truck in Peters's pawpaw grove and hoping the copperheads scare off the tank police.

I recently purchased an FX265 with a Yanmar 300K loader, 2860 hrs, fair tires, and appears to be in pretty good condition. However, no one - including the "dealer", seems to know anything about this tractor. I need an operator's manual, shop manual, and parts manual if they are available. In addition, I traded a Kubota L225 for it (total $7500) and I just wonder if this was a mistake. Any information about this tractor would be greatly appreciated.

Ray, I used to wrap a chain around my 410 loader. I mentioned it to my Deere dealer and he welded three chain hooks on my loader, reinforced with steel, and painted it original green. Hooks are just easier and less time consuming. For bigger or heavier loads you don't want to lift with the middle hook, this is where the loader is most likely to bend. I use 'em to pull small tree stumps, T-posts, lifting implements, barrels, etc. Best of luck. JonB

I am not sure that the test is valid for the Cummins. My Cummins' power definately increase over the first 30K of break in. I you take a diesel off the lot and do these test what does it prove?

Don't worry about reliability and AWS. They have proven to be bulletproof. As for the question if you need it or not, go for a test drive and pretend like you are mowing your yard, if you have a lot of maneuvering to do, the AWS will sell itself.

This looks like an older thread but I couldn't resist putting in my two cents... I have a 1320 hydro 4x4 and run an older Howse 5' rotary cutter that I rebuilt. Most of what I cut is weeds (sometimes quite high) and occasional small brush under 1". The tractor does fine at about any speed in the medium gear range. I recommend a 5' for this tractor so you can cover the width of the tires. I personally think that this tractor is somewhat under-rated in terms of PTO HP but then again I guess numbers are numbers. I would get the 5' and then if/when you ever get a bigger tractor you should be set there too. I have not had any problems turning the 5' cutter but always use common sense too. I don't buy the earlier comment that you would loose any ground speed with a 5' compared to a 4'. If you did it would be insignificant and if your were worried about this small of a difference you are probably cutting for money and in this case should probably be using a larger tractor all together. My local Deere dealer told me that the 419 has a rated capacity of 610 lbs. It sounded too low to me since the 70 had a capacity of 755 lbs. The Deere info to the dealers could be wrong.
On the plus side, the 419 shares the same attachment QA system as the 410, 420, 430 & 460 loaders. This is great if you need pallet forks, specialty buckets, or bale spear.

Yes, we probably manage to get off topic. As long as you're scooping loose material, either Howse or KK would be fine. I've had good luck in general with the other KK implements that I have; I think that my scoop is the same as a Howse, I bought it because the local Southern States store had it on the lot. You can move a dump truck load of gravel in a few hours with one. I see no reason to get the 24" instead of the 30". The only way I've managed to damage mine was by backing up to the corner of a rock, getting the edge of the scoop wedged under it, and backing up while pulling up with the 3-point hitch. Just backing into piles of gravel or dirt, my TC29 would never hurt the scoop; it will spin or stall first.

As for the Kubota pricing check out ad #1715 in the classified section. They're in New York also and an excellent dealer. You're really not giving enough information. I would worry about which machine fit my needs now and in the furure before I concerned myself with price. The L3130 makes one heck of a lawnmower. L3710 is also a great tractor, but does it fit your needs? The NH are also excellent tractors and might be better if your property requires a lot of manuvering around obstacles. They are available with supersteer which really cuts the turning radius. You make no mention of a front end loader. Extremely useful if you own either of these tractors. Generalizing, the more open your property and the more you intend on using a loader the more I would go for the Kubota 3130. Less or light loader work and more manuvering I would lean toards the NH. Either way go Hydrostatic and not a gear shift.

I would be bias to say the least, because we are a Kioti dealer. You will never here us bad mouth another tractor maker, because most of them are good quality tractors. The difference lies in the price. I do not want to sound pushy, but will you allow me to price you out a Kioti tractor package? I can supply parts & manuals for a similiar US tractor. It does not cross to a Ford model. There should be a couple bleed screws on the filter & one on the injector pump. Start at tank , open screw, let fuel flow till no air bubbles, do same with each screw working towards engine.
