I don't think you would have any problem with the cutter, but the baler would depend on the model and HP requirement. There are vastly different HP requirements if the baler shoots the bales into the tailer etc. or a small baler. There are small balers designed for the compact tractors.

1999 JD4300, hydro, 32 diesel HP, 4 wheel drive, turf tires, tall folding rops, 410 loader, 73" bucket with digging bar (lifts 1700 lbs.), rear light, JD31b post hole digger with 24" & 12" augers, JD ballast box. All in like new condition, garage keep, no rust, only 600+ hours. I live in Maryland and we are moving to a 1/4 acre, so I won't have a need for it. I will miss it, it is the best toy in the world. HEY guys, there is a federal law that states a manufacturer cannot void your warranty if you don't use mfg's parts, The law says if he requires the use of his brand of parts then the manufacturer has to provide those parts FREE OF CHARGE. FOR EXAMPLE.... If you buy a new Chevy truck and you use the proper weight QUAKER STATE OIL and change it yourself and the oil pump fails, he cannot fail to honor his warranty because you didn't have him change that oil with MR GOODWRENCH oil. Tractor manufacturer's do NOT refine there own oil or make there own oil filters. This is a common scare tactic to make you pay the high dollar on service within the warranty period. SAE has specs and test requirements that all OEMS approve. LOOK ON A quart of MAJOR BRAND oil. I will guarantee you that KUBOTA does not manufacturer their own oil nor do they make their own filter.

It seems that we are talking about two different sizes of rocks here.
May I point out that the farmer did not pick up the rocks and place them on a trailer. He would use a stone boat so he did not have to pick them any up any higher than necessary. I have seen the old hood of a car used as an inexpensive boat.

I have a L3710 GST and had problems hooking up to 3pt impl.The lower links would'nt seem to open far enough with the pins pulled on the stablizers. So I went one step further and where the stablizers attach to the lower links [or arms]. I pulled the cotter pin out and put a cotter key in the pin that holds the two to gether. This way you can pull the cotter keys, pull the pins and drop the stablizers. Then the lower links will spread all the way to the tires.
I also have the teloscopic links and like them alot. I would'nt put wieght on them extended, just hook up and back up and they should click in.
I love my KUBOTA. I've had it for 3 months and have 185h on it. The only problem was a leak around the trans. sight glass around 150h. It was fixed under warrenty. I really hated to turn my back on DEERE, but I think lately they have been going down hill with there smaller line of tractors and equipment. Sorry to all the JD fans, I really have mixed feelings. I hope the lower link thing helps you and others.

i AGREE WITH ART. A MMM on a tractor with a front loader screws things up with the low clearance on the mower. I would suggest a 3 pt finish finish mower on the back. THat MM mower is ALWAYS scratching the ground at the worst possible moments.

They are made in Winfield AL, a few miles up the road. I would assume that they are fairly well put together. I guess I could go and look.
Seems like the NA low cost equipment manufactures are all in the area.

Just got back from the JD dealer. He quoted me 14830 for a 4310 with pwr reverser, 2400 for a 420 FEL and 600 for a 513 rotary cutter. TTL out the door of 17830. JD also has 5.5% money for 60 months. Now how am I gonna talk myself out of this deal? What do ya'll think? Good, Bad or just so-so deal?

Well I first saw this post and I did not know what to say. My friend at the lumber yard sell something like the material Mr. Ethics describes. I have never used it so? But the rambling discussion jogged my memory.
Some years ago I studied a material for a company on a short term contract. The material was called Jet Set and was the product of our airforce and the tax dollars. The material was designed to be an ultra quick patch for a cratered runway. The material had excellent adhesion to concrete and hardened immediately.
Anyways there is a commerical material available now that I found last year. I would think these people could provide something to solve the problem if any one can.

I pull a 5th wheel trailer with a 3/4 ton Dodge V8. I put Borla headers and exhaust on it. You keep the converter and you do not have to mess with the computer. Also use a K & N air filter system. It definitely increased the HP and Torque. Pricey but I would recommend both. Borla sells the same set up for the V10.

The Glideshift is exclusive to Kubota. Many of the larger farm tractors have transmissions that shift the same but not in the compacts.

I have a '79 JD 950, 2WD, with loader. My front wheels are from a bobcat (I think). With a load on the loader the tie rods rub the rim and wheel. Checked with John Deere Dealer to buy the correct rims for front turf tires and to the best of his knowledge I cannot have turf tires on the front with a loader! I want to buy the correct rims but the problem is nobody seems to know what is the correct rims. Supposedly the book says 5 x 15 but that isn't wide enough to fit high-ply tires although John Deere does have 6-ply ribbed tires that will fit. I use my 950 for yard work and need turf or street tires. Does anybody know if the MFWD rims (7 x 15) will work on my 2WD 950? If I buy them and they don't work there is a 15% restock and 2 wasted tires. Also can I use either 15" or 16"????

On some tractors they do offer differential lock on the front end as well as the rear. That would be a true four wheel drive.

Very good information. Basically I was able to borrow this tractor from a family memeber to do some bushogging. It's kind of a long story but he couldn't tell me himself how to check the oil, which is probably a pretty good indication of the quality of care this thing has (not) received. I felt guilty and zerked it completely before returning it but it could defintely use a little TLC...

Hi, Warren!

I used to have a brocure on that Dutch machine, but tossed it a couple of years ago when I decided $5000 was a bit pricy for a 4' bush hog!!!!

I will contact my friend in Lexington and ask her for the brand/manufacturer name, model no., etc. She was very positive about them.

The little Postmaster does the job, but I think a proper bush hog with swing arm would be be better. Still, for the money, the Postmaster is not a bad deal.

It certainly sounds like you have enough tractor to handle the load. Always nice to know that I am not the only one around here that adds significant ballast when I hop on board a tractor.
