Thanks for writing back. The "wizards" at Kubota told my dealer to place a certain size restrictor (regretfully I cannot tell you the size of the orifice off the top of my head), with the intention of reducing the pressure and thereby slowing down the left to right movemement of the shute. Well, part of the solution worked. The movement slowed down by at least half. But, now two conditions that didn't exist before are now occuring. First I hear a constant high frequency whine from the hydraulic system and second, it appears that the restriction of the pressure is such that at times when I move the handle to turn the shute, the chute will suddenly stop and not continue to move. Then I have to wiggle the control handle to make the chute continue and to go where I want it to go. I know know two things and fear another.... first, I know that the whine I'm hearing is probably putting strain on the hydraulic system and probably causing over heating of the hydraulic motor. Secondly, I know that the control of the lateral movement of the chute is NOT supposed to stop intermittantly. And what I fear, is that a combination of these problems is going to cause damage to one or more components of the hyraulic system, and something will be damaged or destroyed. And of course, one wonders who will have to pay the bill. Will the damage occur while it is under warranty, or 3 days after warranty terminates. Plus, I use my tractor alot (particularly in the winter), and don't want to see it sitting in the dealer's shop. I say that Kubota's fix is a cheap bandaid repair and I want it fixed now - the right way! So, I hope that answers your question. Let me know what you think! Best regards...... dz

Craig, I have a 7' power angle Curtis plow mounted on a 4700 Tractor with 460 loader. Curtis offers brackets which must welded to the plow frame. The two brackets duplicate dirt bucket part of the JD Quicktach system. The snow plow is connected to the loader arms using the same method as for the JD bucket. After the bottom pin s are installed, the hydraulic lines to the bucket curl cycliners are disconnected and replaced with the power angle cylinder hydraulic lines. This takes less than 5 minutes. What type of pictures do you want? I have the plow off at the moment so I can send you pictures of the Cyrtis Quicktach brackets.

I am in approximately the same situation as you. Mowing, plowing and maintaining a few acres. The R-4's are NOT good in the snow, turfs are better, (I have had both)and my machine now has chains on all fours with those tires. I would spend the $$ for a tc33 as well. The 29 will bog down under a moderately heavy load (so did my 4100).It is a large, heavy machine and can use all the hp you can afford for it. The 33 will give you more power in the same weight package. I plan on trading for a Kubota 2910 in a year. Same HP, lighter, extra cylinder and smaller frame. The features on the tc are very user friendly and it IS a great mowing machine with the 72" belly deck. Happy shopping!

TomG the 8A John Deere back hoe has a sub frame on it how ever it mounts on a bracket by the drawbar an pins on the loader bracket in the middle of the tractor. This is the problem the 1200 lbs back hoe is piviting by the drawbar and pushing up on the middle of the tractor. I am tring to figure out how to keep this form happening again after I put the transmission back together, becouse I am sure that history will repeat its self.

I have a 32 HP Kubota and am looking for advice about a reasonable 3-point backhoe attachment. Also I am getting mixed opinions on running it from remotes or a pto pump, but I am leaning towards the pto pump. Most of the units I have seen run off the tractor hydraulics.

I haven't had a flat myself, and maybe somebody will comment. However, my impression is that a home repair, especially of rear tubeless tires, isn’t too successful. However, many people who load tires put in tubes, since there are less corrosion problems. At minimum, taking rear tires on and off the rims can be a problem. Some people resort to running over them with trucks to break the beads loose, and then use come-alongs to seal the beads enough to start the tire taking air. Other than do-it-yourself, I've heard of something like an agricultural tire cooperative, which is a network of shops that work on ag tires. I believe they provide transportation, but that's probably more intended for farm tractor tires. Anyway, a dealer should know local shops that work on ag tires. A pump usually is needed to load your own tires. I believe there is an adapter sold that allows fluid in and air out. Anyway, a leak while in the field always would be a problem. Stranding a tractor in a field is its own problem, but an additional problem is containing the leak. The type of fluid used should be considered. CACL is cheap but is very corrosive and will sterilize the ground for years. Anti-freeze also has disposal problems and is poisonous. Dogs and other animals like it. Methyl alcohol (automotive window washer fluid) is cheap, but creates explosive vapours inside the tires. Leaks in loaded tires are definitely difficult to manage, and valve stem guards are a good idea if a tractor is operated in brush. Every time I think this subject through, weights seem like a better idea, but then I check the price for weights, and then that doesn't seem like such a good idea either.

1725 is the number they used on the first BOOMER tractors. That would mean the tractor is a 1996 or newer. It sounds like a fair price even if the tractor has the standard 9/3 transmission.

I purchased a 3 point mounted "ballast box"(BB) for my 4WD-HST4200 and have used the front end loader with and without the BB. My experience has been that the BB not only enhances traction, but also lends a bit of stability for those times when using the loader, especially when dumping the bucket while on a crossways slope.
I estimate my filled BB @~400 pounds as loaded with rocks and log chains,

Hi, I too have a jd970 with 7X16 field tires in the front and would like to go with a wider tire on the same rim. Of course I would also need to keep the front to back tire ratio in line while making the change to the wider track.
Bottom line is, what front field tire, if any, would give a wider tread while holding to the exact or close circumfence of the OEM 7X16????

I've got a series 35 Landpride rearblade with a rear gaugewheel and endplates. It rotates, tilts and offsets. A very handy item to have. A rearblade and a boxblade all in one. What works great on gravel drives is use one endplate and then the gravel will slope out gradually . So your not the only one with endplates.

i found this picture of a simple "self levelling" design on a grey market tractor. I've seen this basic design on other tractors as well, but with the cylinder placed further up on the boom. I wonder how well these work?

Since I am considering the purchase of a TC40D, I would appreciate hearing from any owners of TC35 through TC45's that have had warranty repairs and also how supportive NH has been with those warranty issues. I am also curious if it is possible to personally visit with the NH area rep whereas with JD, it is not possible to visit with the JD area rep. according to my dealer

Frank--you really don't have to heat the handle--I removed the black plastic or rubber grip and placed the handle in a large vise with padding on the vise jaws and used a cheater about 5 feet long and just increased the angle of the bend so the handle would clear the grill guard mount, and replaced the black plastic grip. This way it was not necessary to repaint it. The entire fix took just a few minutes.

I'm selling my 5ac country "escape hatch." Want to unload my '89Kub B7200 ( 925hrs) w/ Kub 1630 loader, 5' Bush Hog, Woods 5' finish mower, Yanmar 4' tiller. Also: Ops Manual, Illustrated Parts, & Workshop Manual. Not garage kept. Stuff works o.k. but not "pretty." This stuff is a little overkill for a townhouse. Any comments, please? I'd like to get a fair price, don't want to shaft anybody but don't want to get shafted either. I seem to be a bit better at buying than selling, sez my wife.Karl
