Thanks for your help.<br>I actually hit the site admin with a note and he said it was his fault. B series had not been posted, until today.<br>I priced out the same machines I got quotes on at my local dealer and they are within a $100 of each other, so I didn't ask about shipping. Looks like the local man wins the business.<br>

Got a price on a 4300HSD w/ 430 loader, R-4s, folding ROPS for $19000.<br> Sounds pretty close.

Take the negetive cable off the battery and fully charge the battery. Running the new battery partially charged will quickly shorten the life of it. If you take a test light and hook it between the neg. cable and neg battery it will light if there is a draw. Disconnect things until the light goes out and that will be the circuit causing you problem. Also check your jumper cables. Cables smaller than 6 gauge will not carry enough juice to start that tractor with a completely dead battery. Also you car may not have a large enought battery to handle the ampere required. Continue to Crank the tractor with insuffient amps and you may also cause starter damage.

Thanks for the comment. Any idea what part of the PTO accomplishes this? I fear it is more than what you suggest because I have a hard time getting it into (PTO) gear - I have to double clutch. But it would be nice not to be concerned about the clicking - a momentum dissapating device - something to do with the overdrive clutch perhaps?

Read something about the same thing on the kubota board relating to the 3010/hyro. Steve carver @ Carver Equitment said all their units pull full RPM in high gear. Maybe give him a call. Sounds like a certain production run number that did'nt have the fuel properly adjusted???

Interesting with your 4200; I have a 4100, same tires and had very early on a large gash develope in one front tire also. a slit about 1 inch long but I was in some cleared woods and small brush cut low of about small finger size is hell on the tires and I believe thats what got mine. A local tire repair shop patched it and put a boot in the tire and it has held up fine ever since with some rough use; I didn't think it would. I don't believe you can get tires much better. You may have driven over a tin can lid or some glass of a sharp rock; alot of things can happen. Good luck.

Yep, you are definately in the used market. I'd recommend something in the 25 - 30 hp range as it sounds like you will be using it for pretty much everything. Be careful, but not afraid, of one with a loader and backhoe on a Dealer's lot. If a contractor owened it, there may be a reason he got rid of it. Such reasons generally involve reliability, etc. Ask about why it is there.<br>Aftermarket hoes are OK, provided you size one correctly and get a good brand. Woods and Arps come to mind. If you get a used hoe, make sure it is not leaking around the seals on the cylinders. Good 2nd hand hoes can be found by home owners and the like. <br>Lee

Jeff,<br>Many of the machines made in the last 20 years have the features you asked about. The best thing you can do is find a machine you are interested in and then solicit input on that machine here. I have a G1800S bought for $5900 w/94 hours. Have the 46

Had a similar problem with gage wheel. Mine was the front. If you take a hard right turn when the bagger is mounted, the weight can cause the gage wheel to auger in. I spoke with local dealer and he said I had an early version and they had an add on kit with 2 tension springs that suspends the deck. I ended up picking up 2 large springs from a junk dealer and using some rubber bungy cords and solved the problem. Doesn't look that great, but I saved $150.00.

<br>I own a JD4100. NOWHERE in the warranty does it say that the warranty is voided if a backhoe is installed on the tractor. This is pure gossip that began as a conjecture and spread until now everyone thinks it is a fact. My advice. Get a copy of the JD4100 warranty and read it for yourself.

The problem with my new JD4300 Hydro that I have been discussing on the message board appears to be resolved. Apparently, the parking brake was adjust improperly resulting a in a slight drag on the tractor. The dealership sent a technician to adjust the brake. The tractor will pull 2,850 rpm in Range C with the Hydro control fully pressed. It also moves up to max speed quickly. Since the tractors rated rpm for max power is 2,700 it would appear that the problem is resolved. I am going to check with other 4300 hydro owners to see if that rpm is about right. Some 4400 owners have told me on the message board that theirs runs to about 3,000 with a light load at full transport speed. But, the 4400 has more power. In any event, it looks like the problem has been cared for.
