The Kioti dealer is Top Flight Trailer and Equipment in Conroe, TX. Tel. is 409-756-9797. They seemed great. To their benefit: I visited a lot of dealers and they are the only ones who called me about once a week to see if I had any questions. ( and I usually did) The guy really hustles.<br>I have to confess, though, that I'm going with a John Deere. The JD4200 26.3 hp for $13,725 (demo with 90 hours) versus the Kioti 30 .5 hp ($14,100). The JD has less hp. But it has independent pto, optional mid pto, and I think equivalent or better 3-point lift capacity. (Be careful, JD gives capacity at 24

Today there are two Eicher companies producing tractors. One of them is located in India, producing standard tractors in the range of 24 to 50 hp (DIN). The other company is located in Germany, producing narrow gauge tractors and special tractors.

It looks like the bid I got back from my JD dealer was lower by a small amount. <br>My cost with loader was quoted at 18,700 vs yours at 19,642 (this includes loaders). My quote also was with a 430 loader vs your 420. Any other feedback from others? Is $18,700 a good price on a JD 4300?

I have been waiting to see follow ups to your posting, I'm surprised there have not been any. I cannott provide the techinal data you asked for, I can only say how happy that I am for spending the extra for the hydro. I was using the tractor for loader work the other day and tried to count the number of times that I would have had to shift, I lost track - GO HYDRO!

The problem I have encountered appears to be a power problem more than a problem with the transmission. The tractor works perfectly in ranges A and B. My dealer has been in contact with Deere and they are working to get the problem resolved. With respect to the followup comment that was posted yesterday

I'm now learning toward a JD 4100. I can get a gear with the selective control valve to accomodate a loader for $10,800. My local Kobota dealers quoted me a B1700 and B2100 for $13,000 and $14,800 respectively, although those were hydros. (In my neck of the woods the hydro adds about 1700 to the JD4100).<br>I drove a gear for the first time today -- not at all what I expected -- very easy and I anticipate no complications for any of the work that I plan. Some newcomers don't know this, but its not like a car -- you don't shift on the fly, so to speak, you start of in the gear that you want to end up in. Go see and test drive one. Be sure and ask about the differences in how the PTO runs gear v. hydro. I suppose everyone has an opinion on this (there can only be two -- gear or hydro and there is no guarantee that you won't change yours after you buy one. Welcome to the tribulations of the tractor shopper. Hope this helps.

I'm an Arps & Kelley dealer, although I sell mainly Kelley. Arps is owned & manufactured by Amerequip Corporation, Kiel, Wisconsin. They also make hoes for some of the major tractor co,panies.

How does this answer the question put forth? Are the Kubotas better at starting than any other brand? I do happen to own a orange tractor and have had days that I needed to jump start in the cold. Any tractor regardless of make may have problems in the bitter cold. So next time please post with some imformation that will be helpful and stop wasting time. your helpful friend, Biff

While the light is on, check the DC voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running. It should be between approximately 13.4 and 14.2 volts If so the light or the light sending unit (if the 320 has one) is defective.<br>If the voltage is between 11.5 and 12.2 the generator/alternaror is not working or you could have an intermittant short some where between the charging source and the battery. A tractor the size of the 320 has a lot of viberation and this is a possibillity. <br>If the voltage is between 12.2 and 13.0 you could have a bad connection or a charging sourse that is defective.<br>Best quess, you have a defection light/sending unit, because you led me to believe you never have had to charge the battery wit an external source. Hope this helps.

It means you've probably got a bad reverse gear. It'll need split and the transmission<br>will need to have a gear put in it. (see original comment for cost estimate)
