4020 JD After cranking sometimes you can hear the starter motor still running and you have to jump off and pull a wire off the battery to get it to stop. Even if you kill the tractor it will still run. I thought it might be a sticking solenoid so I took the starter off and hooked all the wires back to it and tried it. It works perfectly. Anybody have any ideas?

A friend got a 1985 Belarus 250A , his hydraulic system failed so I removed inspection cover on side of PTO and discovered that the two bearings were tore up . Question when I removed the hyd. pump from PTO I saw where I think there should be 4 ball bearing that couple the PTO to the pump. I am assuming that they fell out when the main bearings failed. Is that how the pump is coupled to the PTO ?

1)Handling On Road -- I always drive significantly faster in the RAV 4 than the Crosstrek on the highway and country roads even though I prefer the better visibility in the Crosstrek. And the weird thing is I do not notice I am going 50 where I would only drive 40 in the Crosstrek.<br>

2) Ride Height--The Impreza is low to the ground I still find it an enigma that I hate the look of the Impreza but love exactly the same car that is lifted! Having a little more height is good on a side impact accident :-(<br>

3) Weight -- the added weight in the Hood , Doors and Trunk lid is impressive on The RAV 4. While the Impreza has great crash tests, in an accident between the Impreza and the Rav4 the Rav will be victorious by a wide margin.<br>

4)I would only by the Impreza if I had another car like the CRV or RAV in my car inventory.<br>

5) Transmission -- The Crosstek has a CVT and if the 15 is like the 14 it is a no joy rubber band acceleration on hills. I have paddle shifters which you could use to offset the CVT, but the gearing is so economy mode there is little love in the shifters and I only use for hill descent. The RAV has conventional auto and is awesome by comparison.<br>

6) Engines if you want to pound on the peddle to pass or climb high elevations, the RAV is a Rocket and the Impreza ia a snail. The snail will get the job done nonetheless.<br>

One of my main reasons for buying the Crosstrek was that I have two kids in College and I wanted to buy an AWD SUV with Leather interior for the least amount of dollars, at the time about $5000 less than the CRV EXL. And it was to be rarely used supplement to my RAV and CRV.<br>

The choice is still a headache.<br>

On the Rav you will absolutely hate the choice if you change your own oil, with the god awful EPA oriented reusable cartridge that spills oil all over you from under the car every time regardless how careful you are.<br>

You will also hate the RAV 4 Munchkin size clock on the dash and the stupid small outside temperature display by the odometer. You will long for the High Mount Subaru center dash display, in 2018 most manufacturers other than Subaru have ditched, in 2018 the Crosstrek Center Dash is even better, I like it so much it is one of the reasons I would consider the 2018 Crosstrek.<br>

You will also long for the nicely raked windsheild on the Crosstrek with outstanding visibility to the right and left. The windshield pillars on the RAV have blocked my vision for a couple of close calls....<br>

my 2003 L3130 GST has always been in 4WD except when traveling on hard packed roads. there are certain things that ya should not do in 4WD--like pulling hard in reverse. I have had no problem in 15 years with the tractor. Hope all's well on Christmas Day.

I am restoring a vp75 right now..the pitch isn't set by the blade clutch its set by raising or lowering the wheels via a crank on back of machine.Mine was froze up basically a piece of all thread in a coupler.mine has the blade clutch on it I went thru it made new bushing and two new clutch discs do you know or anyone else know how thick the clutch discs are supposed to be?I made mine 1/4 inch thick they are to thick to fit looks like 1/8 inch thick would be correct but be nice to know original specs.also like info on how the blade clutch works I understand the disengage by lifting handle and latching it up for neutral but to engage does pushing the lever down does the clutch snap engage or is a spring required on the handle

I recently lost four wheel drive on my 4310. I took it to the local dealer and they said that a gear spline is stripped and the front end needs to come off in order to make the repair. Bottom line.. $3,000 to fix it. Maybe that is high, maybe it isn't. In any case, it's more money than I have to spend right now. Im trying to decide whether to take this on myself or not. My mechanical skills are ok, but I haven't worked on tractors. So... using the limited information I have provided, can anyone advise on my course of action? Thanks!!

My father has a Hefty G similar to the Allis G which he restored 20 years ago and has been covered in the tractor shed covered up. We are thinking about selling it but no idea what's a good price range. Resto was done really well.

When all I had was the old Jubilee I bought a scoop from an ol' boy. Did a lot of work with it, from digging ditches to spreading tons of rock to hauling wood. If you don't have a loader a scoop is the next best thing. I've got 4wd diesel with a loader so I gave my scoop to one of my boy's who has a old ferguson. He dug a pool out with it this past summer. It's a usefull piece of equipment.

When I replaced the water pump on my 6by4 gator, I could see that the first gasket I replaced would allow coolant into the oil if the gasket was bad.
I replaced 2 gaskets when I replaced the water pump and since it was the first time for me, it was a pain in the butt taking out the bolts so that I could remove the muffler to expose the water pump bolts.
I'm betting the gasket is causing the issue.

Any idea as to why the PTO shaft would be rotating constantly on my L185? Gearshift selector is in neutral, but it continues to rotate slowly while engine runs.
