Four wheel drive? I think if you can hear a noise from a front wheel sitting the the seat you need to open it up and think you will find a part is broken or at least bearing shot. If four wheel drive first check the oil level.

If four wheel drive you may want to try seeing if that wheel is still pulling when in four wheel drive. But could be risking one damaged part broken pieces damaging the other gears doing the test. Check the oil if that is not the issue i think you must open it up.

Have not even looked at removing a Gator fender and have paid no attention to how they are bolted on our Gator.

Needed to remove rear fender from John Deere tractor this week and saw very obvious row of bolts and removed them. Oh that was not bad. But the fender did not wiggle, guess those bolts were for looks. Looked up under the fender and found along the top a much less obvious row or more bolts. When I did see they ended up under the side console thought, ask JD dealership on this. They offered to send me parts breakdown picture but it was decided they would do the job due to how large it really was.

So look carefully for hidden bolts, try wiggling the fender to find the area that is not free and look carefully. Also some shops or parts department will be glad to print you off the page showing the installation especially if you bought the fender there. Do assume you checked you tube to see if there happens to be video there.

I had a problem with my rear axles this year. I guess I was lucky that they were not stripped out. I lost bolts and the ones that didn't fall out were backed out a lot and only barely in. I was not able to move the tractor from the field because a axle broke. After I got the bolts back in I got it to the shop by having the diff lock in as I drove it, try that to get it home. I replaced all the studs and used tread lock, red for the housing and blue for the nuts, so far ok.<br>

I have a 2000 Turf Gator that doesn't seem to charge properly. It's been mickey moused around so that it has a golf cart 3 wire voltage regulator, not an original JD Gator. I'm not smart enough to put a JD back on it.<br>
When I check the battery with the gator running and the voltage regulator plugged in the battery shows barely 12.0 volts. If I unplug the voltage regulator and check it, it shows 12.7 volts when running. The battery is new and shows 12.9 when sitting.<br>
Suggestions would be appreciated.<br>

PS before switched to the 825 gators we bought hotter plugs and swapped them very frequently.

In fact you can tune your ear to know when you are not getting a complete burn on the plugs and need to swap. I also bought a harbor freight plug cleaner and just rotated them out. I kept extra plugs and a plug wrench with the gator at all times. This got us through it.

Spoke with Harold at Affordable Tractor. He said the shutoff actuated a rod inside, that the governor box was to have 3-4 oz. of oil installed thru the breather on top of the box, nothing would go flying off when you pull the box off, there are no gaskets available nor shop manuals for these. Really good to find someone with experience on these. I'll post my experience here when we try it. Thanx again!

Yes, the counter balance should swing freely below the engine so you will have to take the engine out so you can tilt it so that the hole is directly underneath the engine, in the vehicle I guess you would say it's at seven o'clock as needing it to be at six o'clock, make sense?

My Gator XUV 4x4 diesel dies whenever the coolant warms up enough to turn the cooling fan on. It will start right back up. I have checked the fuel shut off solenoid and it is dropping out every time the cooling fan comes on. I tried a new one and it does the same. Voltages and battery seem to be right on and Ok. But it seems that the surge of current required to start the cooling fan is dropping out the fuel shut off solenoid. Any ideas???

Got the parts manual in the other day after looking it over took the cover of hydraulic lift off going to order new O rings and gasket but after its back together could someone tell me how much and type of fluid to put in where to fill it to looks like it holds alot

Having never changed a water pump on a Ford 1510, I would appreciate any does and don'ts as well as tips and pitfalls for the job. I plan to use all new factory parts. I've had bad experience with aftermarket and rebuild parts in the past and this is one job I don't care to repeat. The one question I have is, do I have to pull the radiator to replace the water pump. Thanks in advance for the help.

It sounds like the feedback linkage may be broken or unhooked. Check #19 in image link. The linkage connects to the left lift arm on the rockshaft.

Thought I had it fixed, can not find anything wrong with wiring harnace. Have double checked all the switches, but the oil, air, and battery warning lights come on dim then get briter. I ohmed the diodes, but by my repair manual I am thinking that they are breaking down. The lights only come on when I shift in to hi, med, and low range. Anyone out there have any suggestions. New wiring harnace is around $750, but I can't find anything wrong with this one.
