Thank you both for getting back with me. It's rained hard the past 2 days here in FL so haven't been able to work on it. I will try all your suggestions and let you know how it went.

And to answer your question nothing happened when it was running. No smoke and no noises.

We don't like it as a dealer either but it is a rare fix that any company that we sell for will pay for transportation. Years ago it was not as big of a cost compared to today for the trucking but times have changed. Even for a car or truck if the buyer deals tight some of the little things like these costs are harder to absorb.
We have been lucky as we are not the leaders to add this cost of ownership on the trucking in this area so many expect it.
It might be as little as a loose clamp that isn't part of the dealers assembly but the manufactuer. There might not even be a possible claim written to offset the time to fix.

I am not familiar with Kubotas, so take this with a grain of salt, or bag as the case may be.
I think you are talking about a single stick two valve loader system.
If it has a rubber boot to cover the ends of the valves, pull it back.
You may have a bunch of junk making things sticky.

It also could be that the 'Tick' was the linkage coming apart, or plate where it links to the valve, broke.
I had one that broke off where the pin went through.
I just made another. A branch in the woods broke it, I did not find it until I went to lower the bucket.

If you do not find anything amiss with the linkage,

With the tractor not running bucket on the ground.
Disconnect both controls (take a picture before you do so you can see where everything goes when you put it back together)
push then pull each rod, see if it springs back to center.
Both should.

I have a Ford New Holland 1725 Tractor I purchased about 6 months ago. It has been running fine until yesterday, the transmission will not shift.<br>
It has the 3X3 transmission. Shuttle type I think.<br>
Anyways, It is stuck in 3rd gear and I cannot get it out. The fender Shifter works fine just the one on the floor will not shift. It has always been kind of hard to shift but it did shift. <br>
Anyone have any ideas? Tear the trans apart?

I know I'm way to late to reply, but for other owners: The steering control unit on the DK35 and DK40 is a very slightly modified Eaton Char-Lynn Type 10. The main shaft seal on my DK40 was a single lip u-cup and measured 25 mm x 35 mm x 5 mm and is available on-line for about $3.00-4.00.

Even a whole bolt on replacement unit should only cost about $350.00 and is readily available, so don't get fooled by all the prices you are quoted.

As far as stripping the unit, if you can unscrew a bolt you are halfway there. If you can screw one back up and have a torque-wrench you are the rest of the way there.

I am posting this as I was also given a ridiculous run around about availability and repair cost.

Total cost of repair: $40 ( I replaced all the rest of the seals as well using a standard kit )

Total time involved ( after the run around ) : 1 hr.

I agree it looks like a Jimma. I've got a Foton and that's not it. The 3105bt is a 3 cyl. diesel, more common with more part availability than my 490bt 4 cyl.

Just purchased a e184 to have a smaller tractor to get through the woods on my place to some food plots. Looking to buy an operators and parts manual. In the meantime had a question. New lever to me on left side, labeled "reduction lever". Is this to reduce rear end ratio? Any hints or no-nos on use? Thanks, Dave.

I had a problem with the 3 point hitch taking forever to go down even with a load. I found info here at this site. Thanks to the person who pointed out that the knob just below the seat that opens & closes a valve to control the speed of the hitch has a set screw that holds the valve in place. It is small & not easy to see. He pointed out you could remove the valve once you loosen the set screw. Well I thought I may have forced the valve to far in one direction as the valve doesn't turn very far in either direction cw or ccw. I thought the valve was stuck that's where I went wrong. The fix: I loosened up on the set screw(allen wrench). I then turned the knob ccw a little & found it lowered as normal. I tightened the set screw & I won't play with that knob again.

I have a Nortrac nt 204c, I need to check the hydraulic pump pressure, I know where the line joins together above the brake pedals. Is that where I would check it,does it have a bypass to keep a line from bursting? <br>

I purchased a N189 about 10 years ago and it has been wonderful....until now. The unit runs great, but the 3 point hitch has taken on a mind of it's own. As soon as I start the tractor, the hitch with a box blade, rises up...all by itself!!!. When I set it back down, up it goes again. Once it has gone all the way up, it still tries to keep going which puts a strain on the tractor motor. <br>
Has anyone ran across an isue like this before?<br>

I cannot tell how the PTO is disengaged.
Looking at the PTO Drive parts, I think that part 15. Tube Assembly PTO Shaft is supposed to slide to the back to disengage.
I do not have this tractor, so I am not too sure of this.

Some mower blades have a bend in them between the mounting surface and actual cutting blade. Are all the blades the same that were installed? Could one be mounting up side down? I've seen this happen lots of times.

I can not answer that directly but was in a parts store about three weeks ago and a man came in with clutch and pressure plate off his Ford maybe same model as this just do not remember and said he was told it was also used on some Ford cars. That shop measured the plate and I think was able to match it up. Hopes that helps. kt
