I have a new holland TC29 and I am having trouble with my loader. I can lift up pretty good, but when I try to lower the bucket slowly, it drops 2-3 times faster then it is suppose to. I have had this tractor for 4 years and never had this problem before. Any advice you can give me?

Thank you for asking, No, I was on my way in from the woods with a loader bucket full of pine wood when the backhow dropped down . The frame broke (rectangular) broke on top and down each side the bottom just bent. The tracdtor was bought new with backhow and loader bucket in 2009(date on picture is not correct) There is a weld on the top where the frame is doubled from there back. The tractor is used mostly to bring in firewood. I did some backhoe work for township,dug grave,and swimming pool.One problem with the backhoe is the outriggers don't stay tight about 5 minutes work and I have to tighten them.When taken in for the warranty inspection this problem was mentioned to them they stated nothing was wrong with it. This problem causes the tractor to move. Do you feel this could be part of the problem. Thank you

We had two different types, both John Deere. Deere likely costs a bit more, but we had both spreaders for 20+ years, and with good cleanup they looked like new and brought new price when we had our sale last fall.
The first was a two wheel trailer type with a ground driven spinner. It was Ok for bulky material like fertilizer or lime, but not the best for seed.
The second was also a trailer type with a row of star shaped wheels about two inches apart that would lightly incorporate the seed in loose soil. The seed metering system was much more accurate than a spinner type. It could also be used for fertilizer, but not lime. I did however only use it once for fertilizer, it had too many places that granules of fertilizer can hide in and sooner than you think start rusting things out, I wouldn't recommend this machine for fertilizer.

Well a few days before Christmas there was two local places that refill the 20 pound tanks here doing so for about $6 if memory is correct. Other places said that is about what the gas cost. They were directly across from each other and had a price war going on. I am not aware of any issue with propane here and no idea on what we paid when our tank was filled about two months back.

A bit more information would help.
Are you attaching the driver to the loader frame, or the three point hitch?
Does the driver have it's own hydraulic valves, if so you likely will need a power beyond kit on your 4300 to feed constant hydraulic flow to the driver.

Ken,

Somehow I missed this post from last month. Very glad I read your thoughts.

My kids either about to enter college or half way through now so I don't get to see the little ones around the tree.

For my wife and two kids we have come full circle on Xmas gifting, so now we don't do it at all. Instead it is a day for family and retail shopping no longer has a place in that day for us.

That said you sentiments were heart felt.... and made me think of my childhood days.

I got the Foton all back together. I've had the valve soaking in a 50/50 mix with acetone and atf. It didn't free it up. Got the new valve ordered today, it'll take 7-10 days to get it. Used the loader to dig out today, sure doesn't work like the back blade. The four wheel drive is nice. Didn't get stuck at all. Larry.

You might consider a Massey-Ferguson 1500 series, but take care that you get one that's assembled in Georgia. Some cut-rate outfits are selling Agcos (Chinese MF) as Masseys. The Farmall B (Case/IH) is another possibility. But like all compact utilities, confirm the country of origin before committing to a purchase.

Joel, I hope you are correct. I had a hunch the wire that attaches to the fuel solenoid may be arcing. So, I disconnected it and reattached. Tractor started without blowing a fuse. I hope that solves the problem. I hope to use it after the storm ends here in Indiana.

So...I changed the HST/hydraulic oil today and the two associated filters and it runs well once again. However, the hydraulic oil filter (the one on the frame rail) didn't burst but was loose! Somehow after 290 hours it had loosened enough to gush oil. Now the temperature was near record setting low temps and it was due for its 300 hour change. But, from now on the first thing I'll attempt to do is tighten the filter to see if that stops the leak. Interesting is that the replacement filter (I always keep spares on hand) is smaller than the one I replaced. It came from a sealed CNH bag and I cross checked the bag part number and it's the correct one. Maybe I had the cold weather filter on it? It's hard to tell as CNH doesn't mark the parts number on the filters, just a 4 digit alphanumeric code (old one: 4V01, new one: 9X17 (smaller)).

Speaking of institutions, my wife and I have always purchased Tshirts that are advertised by postcard in the mail that are customized to state your family name - then a word like "University" or "Vineyard", etc. Well last year we purchased the one that said our family name and then the word "Asylum" being the jokester that I am.

I later took a trip and was returning on the NYS thruway and stopped off for a break at a rest stop while wearing the shirt. I saw a truck driver looking at me up and down, I thought he was a pretty shady looking character. Later I thought back and realized that he probably suspected that I was an escapee! I'll use more discretion with that shirt next time :)
