I have a 420a belarus tractor that the hydraulic pump is starting to get a little weak. pump howls. I have been told that all 420a have a left hand pump, but you need to specify this when ordering. Is the a way to tell for sure if i have a left hand pump? it does have the round cover on it. <br>

The linkage is moving the shaft and hydraulic fluid is moving to the housing but the arms will not raise. I'm stuck on what to do next.

Yes with Directv you have price creep, to stem it you have to call and ask for the customer retention department ans say that you want to disconnect the service. They will try to convince you to stay with offers of $10 off for this and that and stuff for free for a short period like free showtime or Starz etc..<br>

I returned the humming bulb and got a Par38 Daylight Flood LED 1400 lumens 120 watt equivalent uses 23 watts. Same outfit Feit Ultratech. The 5000k light for my office is much better for my office than the 1600 lumen 2700k temperature that I returned. With this light I do not need the desk lamp or the bookcase lights I have. And no noise and very little heat, the other one that hummed was quite hot...

Complicating the problem is that to access the area requires rental of a boom lift every time. I have been trying coercive ways to discourage them but when I am home and they are pecking the pellet gun will make an appearance. I hope to miss the chimney!

The title of this thread and the gospel reading sperak of the "Prodical Son", I have to kind of chuckle a bit.
Our three sons were a joy to raise, but the two daughters, eleven years age difference were a bit more of a challenge.
I'm sure all parents have heard this statement. "Mom, girl one had this how come I girl two don't?". At the risk of being flogged by any lady Tractor Pointers, the boys never seemed to care what boy one, boy two, or three had. But those two girls sure did. Ok, I've probably said way too much already so I'll quit with that.

Does the bucket work?

I have no idea outside of the drive system what would stop booth pto and rear lift from working unless your pto is hyd controlled. Does it engage with a toggle or short lever or does it use shift lever probably mounted on the side of the transmission and need to use clutch to shift into pto and out?

If your pto is hyd control my guess is you have a relief valve that is the issue. kt

How about some questions? How is the condition of your hydraulic/transmission fluid? How about the screw on filter? Don't know it has one but my guess is it has a sucton screen down low on the transmission housing. Are you aware of it and whether it has been cleaned in a while? Most are behind a triangular 3 bolt flange. A problem with any of the above can cause your symtoms.

Hmmm. I haven't had to poke into my front axle, other than to change the oil. There's no guidance on fixing this in the service manual (http://service.mtdproducts.com/Training_Education/772-4207/772-4207.pdf), indicating that it's probably pretty much like any other oil seal.

My guess is you'll need a press of some kind to get the old seal out of the hub housing and to put the new one in. Generally this requires a pin that's close to the outside diameter of the seal and a press plate with a hole to fit the seal to take it out. The seal looks to have a flange on it, so you you press from the inside to remove and press from the outside (probably with no pin needed) to install the new one.

Once you get the hub assembly apart you can probably get either your tractor dealer or a local auto mechanic to put the new seal in for a few bucks - a lot less than hauling the tractor to them and having them repair it.

Consider ordering replacement o-rings for the hub assembly as well as the seal...

I have a John Deere 1050 with a 3T90TJ Yanmar engine. I also have a 3T90LE Yanmar engine. Does anyone know if the LE model Yanmar will bolt up, fit, work in the place of the TJ model? I know there is a slight difference in HP.

I see there is gear oil dripping from front left wheel hub. It could be a oil seal. Question for someone who's familar with repair is. If I take that shaft off to get at Oil seal will all oil pour out? Better question maybe How do I replace the oil seal? Sorry guys not a mechanic but I'm willing to get dirty:)<br>

FYI: Since I just bought the 7265 I went to the dealer. He did everything. replaced Battery,glow plugs, etc. Turns out the STARTER was the problem. Not cranking fast enough. Seller had Starter rebuilt(Guess new one was $1200) Once the rebuilt starter installed have not had a problem starting on the coldest of days. PS Glow plugs light still only comes on for 3-4 seconds. But that is normal. Thanks for all your inputs.

Been away from computer for a few days.

So it ran fine for a while after you replaced the lost hyd oil. Does the manual call for 10w40 for the hyd system? Not the engine but the hyd system.

Is there a filter in the hyd system, if so have you replaced it?

You have looked and it sounds like the linkage is all moving and shifting as it should.

How to test the pump, I would suggest getting a mechanic with gauges to test it. Hyd systems run or are designed to run pressure of say 2 to 3000 PSI and that pressure can be dangerous to let loose. I am not suggesting you try this but if you are determined to do some testing with tractor cut off break a fitting loose very little and cover with a good heavy rag it should run out with tractor running (I would only run at idle) and system being operated. Still recommend you get mechanic in that system.

On the hose bursting, did it run all oil out of the system allowing the pump to run dry?

I have a leak in my hydraulic pipe that runs from the pump in the engine compartment to the HST. The pipe is made of aluminum and the leak is coming from the 90deg bend. I have ordered a new one but I can't seem to figure out how to take the old one off. Does any one have any experience with this? Please send a private post to my email:

Hello butch and welcome to the site.
I'm not a Massey owner, but most three point systems work about the same. There is a whole grocery list of possible problems, but we'll start with the most basic.
1 Is the system full of fluid?
2 Do the other hydraulic functions like power steering or loader if so equipped lift normally?
3 Filters can be clogged, have you changed them?
4 How about the three point control lever, they are usually fastened to a shaft that goes inside, is it slipping on the shaft?
5 Did the three point arms used to stay up with the engine off before this problem cropped up?
6 The arms settling can have a lot of causes too, but most of them are messy to fix. A leaking bypass or pressure relief valve, a leaking seal on the ram inside the tractor that connects to the shaft that the three point arms are on. The three point valve it's self can be stuck, have some grit or something holding a valve partly open. These things are going to be greasy and oily to work with, besides taking a hydraulic valve apart can involve lots of little parts, balls, O-Rings, springs, etc., that can be hard to get back together correctly.
