[QUOTE=bz1bz1;155229] Not a regular, just surfing but noticed this post.I've been through several of 3 point issues with my new 2008 2520 and my 62D MMM so I had to get on here and respond.Here's what I learned:The 3 point draft arms each have two holes in them that can be used to connect the rock shaft lifting linkages to the draft arms.You have to have the lift linkages connected to the proper hole in each arm.One set of holes closest to the tractor will give you the most travel.Apparently some units get installed wrong.I read a JD DTAC report that explained this problem.The other set of holes will seriously limit both up and down travel.Check this first.According to the DTAC this is the cause of most problems with restricted implement vertical travel.The other problem a lot of people are having with the 2520 3 point is draft arms hitting the R4 tires in full raised position with certain implements.This is such a prevalent problem that JD is replacing the draft arms with a new design that are bent so that they provide more tire clearance.I got this fix for free on my tractor.There is a DTAC report on this as well that describes the problem.JD does not have a formal recall replacement program yet but if you complain a lot you'll eventually get the new arms.I had this problem with all my JD implements and others say that there IMatch also will not fit unless they turn the pins inward.If you want tons of data on this go to <URL REMOVED> and do a search on 2520.Read all posts about 3 point hitch or tire clearance problems.Lots of people are getting this fixed.For anyone with 62D mower deck.There is a replacement program for the anti-scalp wheels.There has been so many problems with the front castors digging into sod that JD will replace all 4 wheels with a more rounded corner version and also provide instructions on how to install zerk fittings on the front castor wheels so they can be greased and thus spin correctly.The castor axis had no way to lubricate on earlier decks.I got these free parts and it drastically improved the ability of the wheels to do their job without digging in.The newer decks starting some time in 2007 already have these wheels and zerks.Thee is a DTAC for this also.I spent many months figuring out what caused these problems for me and eventually got them all fixed by digging around on the internet.My dealer was no help in finding the fixes to these problems.I hope you all have better luck. I was searching the web for possible solutions to an issue with my 3PH when I came across this thread. I realize that it's quite old, but felt the need to correct information that was provided in this post.

The lower arms on the 3PH of the 2520 do, in fact, have two different holes in them. The rear-most holes are the ones that the lift linkage is to be connected to, and that linkage should never be connected to the ones closer to the front of the machine.

The frontward holes in the lift arms are for connecting the adjustable anti-sway components. There is a sleeve that fits over a pin from the center of the machine to the transaxle portion where the wheel is mounted (one per side). This sleeve has a chain link connected to it, and then an adjustable turnbuckle. On the other side is similar hardware that then attaches to the lift arm. Adjusting these properly is what ensures that side-to-side sway of implements / attachments is minimized, and will also help with the lift arms coming into contact with the tires.

Bumped the rpms up by readjusting the throttle cable and made a big difference in the top speed. The primary clutch spider studs being worn so bad gives me cause for concern.

Could be less serious than that. There are inline sediment screens, lots of them. They get clogged, causing low pressure fuel starvation. First one is in the tank, directly above the sediment bowl. Second and sometimes third one is/are in the fuel bowl assembly. Then each rubber fuel line has at least one inside the banjo fitting(s). <br>

I spent most of Tuesday at the farm, not really helping but helping the auction folks identify some of my more uncommon tools. We are having the same auction firm do the farm and tool auction as did our house hold goods sale. They handled things in a very professional way so I'm sure they will do fine for the farm things too. Some of my tools were a first time thing for them even tho they been around for thirty some years. They belong to an auctioneers association that gets the word out to people who may have an interest in some of the things we have.

One of you mentioned taking the load off the kids sometime down the road, this is one of our goals. Another goal was us having the choice of where we spend our sunset years instead of being told where we will spend them.

There aren't any retired farmers here in our group, mostly retired factory workers, and construction people, but it is interesting learning how others handled their life's work too.

Order a manual. I am using the repair manual for an Allis Chalmers 5020.

Your fill point is a big rubber plug just below and in front of the seat. The oil level plug is the bolt to the left of the PTO selector. Tractor Supply has a two gallon jug that meets the AC 821 oil specs.

Trying to find Hinomoto E230 parts is a pain, but when I look for AC 5020 parts, a lot more options come up.

Where have you tried? Have you taken the part you need to a tractor shop? Forget the brand and model, depending on what it is there are aftermarket parts for most lift arms and the linkage for them.

Tractor Supply here does carry some. Not my first choice.

Welcome to TP Scott. Normally we don't beat up newbies, wait till friends to do that. LOL

Not sure on that tractor but Massey use to have gear shift lever you could pull up just the littlest bit and it would come out of place preventing the shifting out of a gear. If that is what has happened with you and you have that transmission: two big ifs.

There is a plate the great shift lever is mounted in on top of the transmission. A few bolts hold it on. Clean around it but remove it. Look straight down to where the end of the lever would be. When in neutral there is slot where two slides come together. If they are not total in line then maybe with just a screw driver line them up. That should take it out of first and all gears. You are changing gears so the force needed for that.

Now if that is the problem, learn to not pull up on the gear shift knob when shifting. You may find the pin the lever is on needs replacing due to wear allowing this.

You "may" be able to pull up on the gear shift lever and slowing keep trying to find the slot without removing the plate but that really is a shot in the dark.

Do not see where you answered about pulling the choke.
We have a gator that was doing the same thing and it was totally fuel related. Use of ethanol. Used Sea Foam at least twice and pure gas and think system is finally clean. Had mind made up carb had to be taken off and cleaned out but last few times use run fine.

My guess is the hydraulic pump is worn and won't pick up it's prime. Usually the easiest thing to do is to overfill the transmission by a few gallons until the pump starts working or sometimes just jacking the rear of the tractor up several inches will be enough to divert the oil far enough forward to allow the pump to start working.

Sounds like the samething that happened to me.The guy I bought mine off of had it sitting outside and water got in tne tran/hyd oil.Was it foamy? I just changed the Hydo oil and cleaned the screen.Been good to go since.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 825 PTO doesn't use a clutch. It uses a gear and band system

well it turned out to be a hot and ground wire that was rubbed thru in the harness where it enters the channel under the floor pan. All is good now and I've got my gator back!! Thank you to everyone who had suggestions! Kim

Do not think have seen any issue with shotgun ammo here. Wal Mart is using it to keep shelves partly filled. Hunting rifle ammo is hit and miss at Wal Mart but gun stores seem fine. Handgun ammo again at Wal Mart is scare but did find some 9 MM a couple of weeks back at fair price. Since then seen none. Have not looked for handgun ammo at gun store but my impression is they are stocked rather well. At least there are no gaps on the shelves...well other than where 22 all types go and my impression is the 17 are also in short supply even in gun stores here.

Or, the black stuff might be creosote - which is a good thing. Nothing suggested so far is incorrect. But before proceeding into those areas I'd first stop ground water from coming in in the first place. Usual solution is to backfill the perimeter where the outside walls meet the ground. Force the water to go anywhere BUT under the walls. Perforated drainage tubes can stop it at the door(s)

The outside temp. means nothing to the glow plugs, but I would point out, there's a big difference between [u]using[/u] glow plugs and [u]needing/u] glow plugs in warm weather.

On some machines, like our Kubota's, you don't have an option, thyey're like those in diesel autos and trucks, as soon as you turn the key they come on. The length of time they stay on is however varied based on temperature.

As for the tilt steering issue, are you sure you (and the owner) understand how the position lock works and are operating it correctly?

So, drained the transmission, and there was very little gear oil in there. No more than 2 quarts. Filled and drove it around a little to circulate it. My problem presented itself in HI gears. Switched to LO and the problem seems to be gone. Don't think it had anything to do with HI or LO, though, just took a few minutes for the oil to get up and coat the gears in the transmission.<br>

Info. for anyone who needs to know, I put some Traveller RENEW UTF fluid in the transmission. I was then told by a Belarus dealer to NOT use this or any UTF fluid in the transmission of the Belarus 250AS that is actually from Russia (like mine). Those fluids are too thin. Only put 85-140 Gear Oil or 80-90 Gear Oil in the Belarus 250AS transmission.<br>
