Glad you like your tractor! My own opinion is that there just aren't any poor tractors among the major brands right now. Whatever brand you get you won't ever regret going with the dealer that treats you right.

Just purchased a TC29 and was wondering what the differences are between a Landpride AT2560 and FD2560. I know that AT is the acronym for "Air Tunnel", but was wondering what the price difference was, and the pros/cons of both models. Thanks.

You might reverse the wheels to get a wider stance and more clearance between thw wheels.

Wow, sounds like a wild ride. Glad you did not get hurt. My greatest fear when trailering is blowing a tire out. I hope to upgrade my tow rig (Bronco) to something similar to the Dodge ram. I also insured the tractor (just liability) through my insurance agent. Just in case it falls of the trailer and injures someone.

I saw an implement for sale that looked like the basic make up of a cultivator, but it has "v shaped" cutting edges loosely attached to the rotating pto driven mechanism by large chain links instead of rotating blades like on a cultivator. It also has a heavy steel cylinder that travels behind these cutting edges. Is this thing a chain harrow or a pulverizer? OR something else? It is an older unit made by Ford & is about 6' wide...

Don't know much about anybackhoe's other than the NH.
Do, however, think I ripped off a bit after finding out
about this board. Wish I new about it BEFORE I bought my 25D.
Paid 21 K fo it, super steer, loader, mower & 1 remoute.

Randy, your comment might explain why with the valve stem at the top I still get liquid when trying to check tire pressure. Then again they just might be overfilled, just my luck. Just thinking out loud, if it's in the owners manual and installed by the dealer then rusted wheels would be a warranty item ,ay?

Bob - I don't know if this will help you, but here is how I adjust my rotary cutter. On level ground, of course, I adjust the height of the 3 point so that the front of the cutter is at the height I want it. Then I adjust my solid toplink so that the rear of the cutter is at the height I want it (I run it about 1/2 inch higher in back than in front-things don't seem to fly out as much that way). Then I adjust the rear wheel to support the cutter at that height. Then I loosen the toplink a tad so that the rear of the cutter can go a little further down when I crest hills and to take some of the stress of the toplink. This takes only about 5 minutes. Of course you will probably need to adjust one of your arms so that it also level side-to-side. Maybe give this a try and see if it works. My hitch (stock on a JD 855) also has a couple of tabs I can turn out to get a little vertical float -turn them in to lock.

Can someone please explain the differences between the auxiliary hydraulic kit and the rear hydraulic kit offered for the JD4100? I would like to be able to use the FEL and a hydraulic 3pt top link at the same time.

I use a landpride tiller, but brands sould not make a big difference. When it gets rocky or tree roots (small ones) in the area I lower the RPM's to a idel and just creep, My rule of thumb is if the tiller don't jump or clater because of rocks, roots or even hard ground you will never hurt it. trottle back in those area's and watch the tiller, it will tell you when it's time to clean your area again. my 2 cents

Keith: I use a 60" JD tiller quite a bit in my business (plant nursery). I guess rock picking size might be influenced by what you were ultimately going to do with the tilled ground. But that said, for my purposes I would never pick a 2" rock. Maybe I'm just lazy, or maybe my soil is just so incredibly rocky that if I did pick 2" rocks there would be almost no time to do anything else ... but it's been my experience that any rock smaller than my fist doesn't present a problem for the tiller. Maybe my approach of leaving the "smaller" rocks accelerates wear on the tines, but I can assure you that you'll find the hidden rocks that are the size of a loaf of bread will be a more serious problem. Not breaking the tines, but bringing the tiller to a sudden stop. So, my rule of thumb is: fist size or bigger, it gets picked.

One of the fellows at the hunting camp wants to buy a seedling tree planter that works from a 3 pt. hitch and pto. We are not talking about a quality long term use piece of equipment. We are looking for functional and cheep. We are located in Michigan. Any offers out there?

The link below has pictures of the bent cylinder. If the link works. There are some things I do not understand from the posts above. If the cylinder was hardened why did it not break? It bent alot and does not have a crack of any kind in it. If it was not hardened properly why did it not fail before? I have done alot heaver diging in the past than I was doing when it failed. My dealer service manager says that air in the fluid would not cause the relief valve to fail. Well than what caused it to bend? I do remember one day after using the tractor that the fluid looked milky in the sight glass. A few minuts later it looked fine. With the backhoe on I can not see the sight glass. I will be checking with the dealer tomarrow to see what they have come up with.

I got a price of 14,755 today for a TC35D and a price of 13,952 for a TC33D. I'm going with the 35 even though it's more tractor than i need.

Well, just signed the dotted line on a TC29, folding ROPS, deluxe hitch, R4's, live PTO and a 60" Landpride rear mount finish mower for $13,120. I couldn't find a better deal,I hope it's worth it! The insight provided on this board is great. I'll be back on soon looking for advice on a loader. Thanks. P.S. For all the standard TC29 owners out there my dealer provided me the engine panels that cover and protect the motor. My dealer agreed that removing the panels is a marketing ploy to give the tractor a stripped down appearance when compared to the 29D, thus, hoping that the consumer will spend the extra $1500 to $1800 for the D model. The frame near the engine is predrilled to accomodate the panels, NH simply removed them.
