Andy the TC35D I drove did not have a loader mounted, all controls are where you would want them, hydro pedels are easy to operate it is really a nice tractor. So why am I buying the JD? Main reason for me buying a tractor is for the backhoe. New Holland does not have a hoe to fit this tractor yet, Woods does not have a subframe bracket to fit yet, I do not want a three point hitch mounted hoe and everyone says its three months out before they will be available. I am an electrical contractor who has done all the electrical work for the JD dealership in this area going back 30 years, grew up right next door to this place as a small kid and always wanted a green tractor! All that said I think the JD may be just a little bit better made tractor. Will have to pay more up front to buy but may also be worth more 10 years down the road and I also want the Power Reverser transmission, not offered by New Holland. If I could get the hoe I want and did not have the ties to this dealership that I have good chance I'd buy Blue.

questions about the kubota l260i have located locally a kubota l260 tractor 2wd for $4000 runs good low hours<br>some guages and lights not working, also does not have hydraulic taps to run <br>accessory equipment.local kubota dealer says this item is no longer available.since this is my first tractor, any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.is the tractor worth $4000.is the auxiliary control valvue available anywhere.thank you in advance for any coments.

Yes, it will do everything you want and more. You'll be surprised at what a compact tractor can actually do. If you have the patience and time, it can do just about anything. As far as prices are concerned, it will depend somewhat on where you live but drop Steve Carver (see this board) an email. He's helpful, honest and fair. I'm sure he will be able to help you but check your local dealers too, Kubota, Deere and New Holland, the color of the paint doesn't really matter. Don't forget about aftermarket suppliers as well. I'm sure some of the other guys will be able to help you there with the makes to check out. There are some pretty knowledgeable contributors to this board. It's important that you decide what you really want to use it for so you can get the right type and quality of implements for you. You'll both have a lot of fun with your new toy. Funny, my wife objected when I threatened to do the same thing to her Cadillac. You women are funny that way. No sense of priorities.

My dealer told me that the sale of the JD 48 backhoes are still on hold. That they are still working on correcting a problem with the mounts.

You'll need at least the TC25 to pull a 72" Finish mower. And, Yes, New Holland makes a 72" Mid-mount mower for the TC25, 29 & 33.
I tried the 60" Mid-mount mower on my TC29D and didn't like it. If you're getting it mostly for mowing it's great. I bought mine for Loader work as well as using other 3 pt. implements, and the Mid-mount mower was in my way & interfered with the operation on the 3 pt. hitch. I replaced the mid-mount with a 60" Land Pride FDR1560 & am very pleased with it. I went with the 60" instead of the 72" so I could mow where ever my tractor could go. In other words if my tires will fit between two objects I know I can mow it with out my mower getting caught.
If you went with a 60" Pull behind mower you could get a Boomer as small as the TC21. 60" Mid-mount with the TC18 and up.

Ken, I could have bought a sub frame for mine, but went with the 3pt hitch set up instead with no regrets. they must make a sub frame mount for your tractor.Good luck!! JEFF

Hi Mark! I have a pump for mine.I have no problem going anywhere as far as manuverability, Go with the stronger unit. I'am very happy with the woods 7500. I have dug out 20-30 decent size tree stumps, Dug out footings for a neihbors barn,And trenched for dreanage pipe.I would definitally buy another woods!!! As far as the 3pt hitch goes no problem at all!!Tighten the sway chains and it is solid.No regrets buying the whole package would'nt change anything!! Good luck Mark let me know how you make out!!

I would say it is a little high, mainly because he has no transportation costs. As I said, I paid $1800 for at least 1/2 acre but probably 1/2 the depth and they had to travel a long ways with a huge trailer to move the equipment. I would certainly get a few more bids, at least for peace of mind. I don't begrudge them their money since the equipment costs so much but don't overpay.

John,I've got weights all over a Pittsburgh-Taylor 5 footer disc. Also angling the banks of the discs so that the curved leading edge of the disc blade is parallel to the line of travel makes a disc more aggressive. At some point,however,hard ground and vegetation will defeat a disc. This is where a "pushing down" 3 point would really help.

I bought a pulverizer with double rollers but have discovered some shortcomings in its use. If the ground has any plant debrie in it, (mine was a bean field from last year) the plant material balls up and just drags atop the ground, interfering with the ability of the teeth to scrape the ground. When the teeth do work, they only scrape a few inches of the surface. I decided that I would need to disc the ground first, so I found a 40 year old 6 foot disc to use first. After first discing, I will use the pulverizer to finish with. When the conditions are right, the pulverizer does leave a real nice finish for seeding a lawn.

Terry, simply put the pros are, the tractor is wider, the cons are, the tractor is wider.... If you have 4' wide implements, like a snow blower, and you widen the wheel track to 4'6", then you have created a real pain in the ... snow! If however, you are working on slopes or doing loader work, then you might wish to consider it. Best of luck.

I don't know if this is what you were looking for, but it seems that in response to your original post you might be looking for other deere models from which 3ph's will fit, which are the cat.0 3ph's from a 316 w/Onan, 318,322,332,and 420. Oh, and the 330 too, but they were only made for a year.

Bill, I didn't notice any fuel knock but i'm not certain I would know what it sounds like in a diesel engine. When I get the tractor back from the dealer I will try some fuel conditioner.

Robert, I also have a TC29D with the 7308 Front-end Loader and a 60" Land Pride Finish mower on my 3pt. hitch. Love the tractor, it's a great machine. The thing I like the most is the way ALL the controls are layed out so well. Make operatiing it so easy. Also like the tilt steering as well, helps with getting on & off. The thing I least like is the same as Rick, the HST & brakes are on the same side. Don't really have a need to turn with the aid of the brakes (It turns on a dime even in FWD) but it would be nice to have that option. As Rick said the Folding ROPS is great too, goes in the garage with loader & mower no problem. Overall it's a great machine.

Thanks Murt for the insight on the crankcase vent holes. The tractor is 20 yrs. old so I guess the oil weeping is normal!
