My dealer told me that the 4000 series was replacing both the 55 and 70 series.<br>When this was announced there was and still is considerable demand for the 770<br>model. So in response to the public demand, Deere turned the 770 into a 790,<br>with a few enhancements and a couple horsepower. To my knowledge this will be the<br>only 90 series released.

Is John Deere replacing the 70 series tractors

When I got my estimate on a 4300, the dealer told me I would be just as welloff going next door [to the farm store] to get a rear blade and box scraper. That they woulld be less expensive and just as good. <br>

I have been told to stay away from the New Holland Boomers, that they aren't as good as the Kubota and John Deeres. I think this may be some type of brand loyality problem. If anyone has praticle info with reguards to the Boomers service records please give an answer to this post. I would like to hear from other owners and operaters. Thanks for your time ,

Carl, I have a 675 4wd w/front end loader. I am currently building a cad digger back hoe that will mount on the three point. When I was last at the green dealer I was sniffing around a 4000 series tractor and observed the transaxle set up you described with the gears out at the wheels. My tractor is not set up like that. The hoe I am building will have limitations that I hope match the tractor. I hope I don't have the same set up as the 4000 series. I will be putting a magnet on the gear case ect... when I get home this evening. Great information. Thanks.

Scott, be forwarned! Front end loaders are like pick up trucks. Once you have one you'll never be without one. I have a little JD 675 w/model 60 front end loader. My second tractor. Frist one had a loader too. See what I mean?

The ones with the baffles are designed that way to maximize the the wind velocity and the amount of lift the blades can create. The good thing with these is they will draw the grass up after your tractor tires flatten it.<br>Without baffles you don't get the draw and may have some high spots the next day when the grass recovers from the tractor treads. The good part about the one without baffles is it will probably not clog up as easily, although you should not have a problem with this as long as you mow dry grass

I have a L3600 and I also have a loader. I love them both. I move 1200# round bales without a problem. Check your book to see the 3-pt hitch capabilities. I know for mine, it is over 2000#. If you have good weight in the front, you should not have a problem. I pull a 9

I am ready to buy a Boomer TC25D with hydro, supersteer, 7308 front loader and a quality bush hog. What is this worth. I have got a dealer at $17,600 without the bush hog. Is this a good deal.<br>Thanks.

There is a hydraulic strainer on the 55 series tractors you need to check. <br>I had an 855 with similar problems. Just above the PTO shaft there is a fitting<br>held to the tractor by 3 or 4 bolts, it has a larger rubber connected to it. Dis-<br>connect the hose and then the bolts and pull the cover. There is a hydraulic <br>fluid strainer in there that may need cleaning. Change your hydraulic filter too.<br>There is no need to buy another strainer, just clean the one you have. <br>Hope this Helps.<br>Brent

If you get the JD 790 with 4WD it has live PTO. I would definitly recommend this for any type of mower. No matter which brand you choose, go for the live PTO if you do any mowing.
