ok guys this is my first post. i have a 855 jd. has fel on it and is 4wd. pto hp is rated 19 hp. i am ordering a kk 48 gear drive and says it is rated 20 hp.and i think weighs in around 600 pds. do you think i would have a problem with the one hp diff.. thanks mike

China will attack us. It is inevitable, only a matter of when. As long as the short sighted American Government allows them to DUMP products here without tariff, we are sunk. Our industrial base will be wiped out in short order and what will we have to fight a war with? Our 'service economy' cannot make planes, tanks, guns or even the fuel to run them.

Actually my wife talked me into getting the backhoe. I don't know how she could have known how useful it would be. As for renting - I couldn't justify a tractor with just loader over renting also. It IS about convenience. AND pride. AND just wanting to ride on one of these babies and feel the power of the diesel and hydraulics.

There are many jobs I have done on my property that I would never have done if I had to go out and rent a machine. With the backhoe I have put in drainage systems on a whim. I have put in PVC just to carry extension cords underground so as to not interfere with mowing. I will have EVERY rock dug up on my property and every square inch mowable. I have transplanted large trees around the property each spring until I have everything perfect.

I figure I might get $50,000 more for my property some day as a result of having the tractor - $25,000 from the tractor and loader - $25,000 from the backhoe.

I have not used my new tiller yet (so I am talking about prior knowlege and use of a tiller with a skid steer)
Hands down, if your planning on tilling sod (and you have 2 weeks to spare or more) Hit the plot with 41% Glysophate (Round up or its generic). You would not believe the difference haveing dead vegitation under your tiller makes verse live rooted growing turf. With all surface vegitation dead, your talking one pass tilling again plus it will incorporate into the new seed bed much better. Allow a few weeks for the new weed seeds that reach the serface to germinate. Hit it again with round up and your good to go on your seed bed. Best method I have ever found working with food plots. Round up is worth its weight in gold for time savings and weed free new grass.

After sitting for a while my tc33 is leaving about a teaspon of coolant on the floor , looks like it is coming from the front cover gasket, what am I in for as far as time and materials?<br>

FYI to all, spoke to my dealer on Saturday and he said the cold weather was suspect as there is a solenoid that caused MFWD to engage. Possibly iced up. Thawed it out for the day in the heated garage and reevaluated this morning. All is back up and operational! Engaged and disengaged multiple times with no issues. (left in MFWD for the next storm).

Dick, this is something I found on the net. Hope it helps.

"If your fan is not coming on, chances are that someone did not get the air out of the cooling system. There is a switch in the radiator that controls the fan, if no coolant is in contact with the sensor then your fan wont come on and the engine gets hot. To solve this you have to run the Mule until it gets warm and then park it on a hill with the nose up in the air. Let it cool completly down then check your coolant level on level ground. 9 out of ten times that will solve the problem. Otherwise it is a stuck thermostat."

Did you have a written contract with the contractor who installed it?
I have had good luck with with The Better Business Bureau if they are a member they have thirty days to resolve disputes or loose their standing. Just a thought, you can find their web site and check BBB.com I think.

N.H.had winds clocked at 129 mph fri. night.

Dodge needs the rust and paint warranty. Look back at the early 90's cars especially the white and then at the neons. paint was all ways coming of those.

Most machine shop around me will bore a cyl for about $40. If possible I would only go .010" or 10 over. That saves room for future rebuilds. Get the spec out of the manual of ask the parts guys and they would be able to get for you.

I have been told that semians breaker panels now are making the same kinda device for thier panels. There is a semins panel you can buy with it already installed, but it is marked under another name. I have been told both the square D and semins generator switch lockouts are about 20 dollars.
It seems that some of you guys have a hard time between your inspectors and uttility companys. Around here I make an appointment with the uttility company then the inspectors. the uttilitys will come out at 8 to turn off power and return latter when you call them to turn it back on. The inspectors will come out sometime during the day to check out your job, he will then give you an inspection slip to give the uttilitys so they know it ok to hook back up. Heck one power company will even let me pull the meter to kill power to the house.

Got one of those. It has treated me good. Got it with 185 hours on it last year. Now it has 250 hours. Paid 7K with JD tiller and box blade. Thought it was to much but had to get something quick before she changed her mind.

The more digging I do the worse it gets.

Now there are visions of an L2800 or 3400 in my head. I was quoted $16,900 for the B7800, LA402 (FEL) and a MMM. If I switch to an aftermarket RFM, the L's get into the same price range. Larger tractor, larger FEL, same money. Too large for finish mowing? The property is 76 acres, though.

Help me, help me! I'm so confused.

Art, their are a couple of places that supply motor parts for Volvo engines (IPD). Rings and oversized pistons can be obtained for the B-20, B23 etc.

It is a while since I worked on Volvo Penta I am not sure which engines are actually Volvo engines now. The 4 and 6 were, but the 8 was a GM.

DR I talked with the lawyers but I am not sure if I have any evidence after all these years. In 99 no one would check for the truck self igniting.

I've had a Belarus 825 for several years now. It has been a good honest work horse. I rebuild the 3PT hitch cylinder and that fixed a lot of the messy leakage in the rear of the tractor. My dealer worked on the leak in the spool valves & stopped them for about $100.00. I've used mine for a lot of loader work and dirt work. The 4WD is very nice & hard to find for the price of a Belarus. It has a lot of low end torque & the motor is very strong. Mine has the "dial gear shift knob" which I really like now that I've learned it. Not a bad tractor at all, just a lot of bad press. At least thats my opinon of my tractor.
