Isn't it odd that oil prices have fallen in half with little discussion in the news media, likewise little coverage of the wars exists and nothing at all is being said about the destruction of Galvaston, TX now that the liberals have their superhero elect going to DC. I sometimes feel that we common Americans have been manipulated for the past 8 years and it wasn't by Repulicans. It seems the news media only wants to report bad things!

Just a follow-up on the life of a jumpstarter.

Mine worked well for about 10 years but just lost its zip this past week. It won't even turn over a lawntractor engine now. I still can use the light but that is about all. It was a well spent $39.95 in terms of use and longevity! Am going to get another larger unit.

Suggest you be careful with the powerwasher. If you use a stripper nozzle and get too close, you will notice discoloration. The vinyl fades and it will look like graffiti. TSP is the only cleaner to my knowledge that will easily clean the surface. Be really careful with that stuff. On painted aluminum trim or siding it will wash/rinse the color off. If you get it on windows, it will etch the glass and leave water drip stains. That is real trouble to get rid of the watermarks. Been there, done that!!

I've never owned a Jeep but have my eye on a Wrangler Unlimited (4) door with (3) piece removable hardtop. A local dealer tricked a black one out with 4" lift, brush guards and special black wheels with 35" tires and some lights.

I drive by it about once a week, stop in and touch it. I'm having trouble parting with my money, but it sure looks good.

I think you have a very small market of people willing to purchase a shopbuilt(homemade) loader while it has to be brand and model specific to fit as well.

My dad built one for a Farmall Super C. When cleaning up the estate, ended up selling the tractor, striping the cylinders and took the loader to the scrap iron yard.

I'd go with a larger tractor and BH combination. If it is over your budget, suggest looking at a nice used unit. Would also forget the MMM and get a zero turn or other stand alone unit. I took my 72"MMM off years ago and never put it back on. I was mowing under and around trees and felt it was a pain.

We are some tough cookies here in Michigan!

Even our fabulous Detroit mayor is so tough, he is exchanging his $2,000.00 suits for alternating orange and white horizontal stripes. He is a real big boy, so none of the inmates will be playing cho-cho with him. He definitely won't be the caboose for anybody.

I generally stay away from trouble, but if trouble knocks on the door, I greet it with enthausiasm. They usually are chicken for a real confrontation. I'm old enough to know when not to mix it up but generally use gas. Tell'em how it is, be more crude than they can imagine and rip a good fart before leaving. That is force them to leave, not you. You are then the last man standing and have won without throwing a punch!

It is always wise in a restaurant to have something in your hand during the approach like a hot cup of coffee or bottled beer. You can get clumsy and spill it on their crotch or whack'em on the nose with the cup/bottle.

So what would YOU do with a loudmouth in a restaurant

Basically from the factory, your battery juice goes to the ignition switch, then through a number of safety switches before getting to the starter. Because of all this, a voltage drop ocurrs which is too low to turn the starter. That was a big problem with combines in the 50's.

With the attached fix. Power goes through all the safety switches and then into a relay that gets voltage directly from the battery going a short distance to the starter and you get a solid 12 volts.

My dad and I never new what to do with the JD55 combine except to keep towing it, to start it, and bitch about the Hercules engine.

In my case, I had your basic drafty 2 story 4 1/2 bedroom farmhouse with huge walkin closets in each bedroom. During the peak heating periods, we'd go through atleast one 400 gallon propane tank per month, while the house was never very warm.<br>

The Harmon hooked into the forced air furnace and the furnace fan motor is constantly running. The pellet stove has a thermometer that calls for more or less heat or automatically shuts-off or "on" as was called for. About once a month you cleaned out an ash tray. A couple times a heating season you cleaned out the unit.<br>

A side vent stainless steel stack was put in (stainless is expensive)but could have been also hooked up thru a normal chimney.

In Michigan, gas was $3.67 last week and is now $3.95 again. Diesel has been hovering around $4.59/$4.79 the last couple of months.

I've never had any luck mulching. Seems like I'm always trying to cut too much at a time. Could this be your problem? How about a slower ground speed?

Deere's website says it weighs 2900 lbs. I don't think that is too heavy, however, I'd get rid of liquid filled tires for finish mowing. What type of tires does it have?<br>

With the money you're saving by getting used and comparing the cost of purchasing a MMM and MM PTO or finish mower in addition to a brush hog, you can get a decent Zero turn for finishing. You could then leave the filled tires, and get a brush hog for rougher mowing.<br>

You can get a new Toro 50" zero turn with bagger for about $3,400.00. That will out mow most utility tractors even with a larger deck. It has a light foot print and lets the wife or kids mow while you're doing other heavier work.

If the easy outs broke that is that they are too hard being brittle. I use Magna brand that we get from an industrial distributor (Like Grainger, etc.) rather than ones for home use.

Suggest drilling them out as large as you can to get good insertion up by the larger end of the shaft. Make sure you get the drilled holes on the screw axis and close to center. I try to apply a small amount of torque trying to get it out and then keep twisting harder to get it out rather than rapidly hanking on it. That helps to reduce breakage but some break anyway.

Glad to hear that you're doing ok!

It is going to take a long time for it to heal. Allot stuff got smashed and the pain is it rebelling against you. As the nerve endings heal and regrow there will be pain and discomfort. In the weeks to come it will ease, but it will be numb at times and sensitive to cold for a year or two.

I have had experience with that kinda stuff from practice. Don't get hooked on pain killers! When resting or sleeping you will find that it throbs less in certain positions like laying your hand across your chest above your heart.

I just read this morning that Whirlpool brands include Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid and Jenn-Air. A few years ago Consumer's Report listed Whirlpool as having some of the best washers and dryers. We have a Whirlpool set and my wife dislikes the dryer's cool down cycle since it leaves the clothes wrinkled. We have a GE microwave and flat top stove that both seem to work great. The KitchenAid dishwasher also works great. Their all about 10 years old now.

Me and electricity don't mix well but my guess is the cart runs on 48 volts and the computer and or charger on 8 volts.

By switching battery types, you possibly smoked the computer or the charger is running at the wrong voltage and won't recharge correctly.

If you individually charge the batteries (while disconnected) with a normal charger and get the batteries to full power, does the unit work?

BobCat has recently introduced a sickle bar attachment for the front like their other attachments and states that you can cut saplings up to 1 or more inches.

I have an old Farmall sickle bar and it can cut a few "green" saplings here and there about the size of a pencil or pen. You can break a few blades, pop rivets or brake the wood pitman arm when overdoing it. A sickle bar is intended for cutting hay or tall grass. If you don't have allot of brush or small saplings how about a string style trimmer with a blade and pre-cut them before going over it with a sickle bar.

While growing up, Dad and I cleared about 40 acres of woodlands. Most was Elm, Oak and Maple trees. We had many 2-3 ft. diameter and larger trees that took a 45-50 HP 2WD farm tractor to pull out. We generally short chained them to get some lift while pulling to stop the trunk end from digging in. We also did most of that pulling during cold months when frost and/or light snow was on the ground. I remember more about being cold, wet and miserable than really how hard the work was. Dad also built a skid plate that we would roll the log on and chain it down and then pull it on the skid. That worked much easier. Some of the trees were large enough that the tractor had difficulty in getting started for pulling. We would wrap the chain around the log at a 2-3 o'clock position and start slightly off sided. That way when starting out the log would roll slightly getting enertia working for us.

As everyone has said, "BE CAREFUL" it is dangerous work!!

To clean up we used a 2 point sub-soiler to dig up the tree roots around the periphery of the stump before pulling it. That made it go easy and clean. I will post a picture of the heavy duty subsoiler on my pics in the near future (it is going up for sale).

My $.02 would be a minimum of 45HP 4wd with R-1's (large diameter front& rear tires for clearance) with heavy duty FEL and lots of ground clearance.

Another consideration is the vent stack. I've had some weird stuff happen with a partially clogged stack. Check for bird nests or stuck critters.

I've been looking at purchasing an electric motorcycle. The lack of any noise emission makes me wonder. They should mount reverse beeper sensors all around. I've been looking at "zeromotorcycles.com" and waiting for their street version to come out.
