Wish you were closer. I have an old one left over from the depression days when they have work crews. Basically it is a double wing plow followed by a metal seat for someone to stuff in seedlings and then a reverse plow an opening so not to bend over the planted tree.

As Ann mentioned, Goodman is also an inexpensive brand that seems to work good, from what I know they are not that high of an efficiency.

I have one of those also running on natural gas and their central air unit. I also have 2 Heil central air units with no problems at all.

I don't like the ultra-high efficiency furnaces since the air coming out of the registers is not all that warm. Doesn't give you that feeling of warmth when it blows. My Lennox is that way and it always has a problem clogging itself up requiring cleanings several times a year. It gets some sort of white buildup on the vent and around the burners. It is running on propane and that may be the problem.

In my opinion JD and Cub Cadet have made a marketing blunder by selling through box stores and TSC. It will give them short term sales but at a cost. They, however, are selling only low end merchandise there that will not hold up like their premium models. People will forget they bought the cheap stuff when it breaks and won't go back. A JD dealer will sell the same low end product for the same price as the box store. When a customer comes into their store they attempt to steer customers to higher end products. The reputations of both Deere and Cadet are on the line with their low end products. I predict that will "bite them" in the near future.

Dennis, I've sent several e-mails to you over the past month telling you that I've been unable to post correctly on Barrelpoint. Haven't heard a response nor has anything changed. As I stated in my messages, when starting a new thread it doesn't show as a new post. A reply on an existing post that could be several pages long, post it as the very first one and again not showing it as a new post.

I've always been told that the curved beam loaders have greater visibility. Yea, they are stuck way out in front of the front tires. I'm told they do not have the same (actual) lift capacity although they are rated the same.

Darn I missed it! FastWalker hassled me some years back and cost me about $6,000.00 in attorney fees, but I don't have any bad feelings towards him. Business is business, however he was out of line and knew he had no basis for his infringement allegations.

In defense of his product:

Recently he has been copying our hitch design (his is called E-Z mover which is not similar to his advertized model at Tractor Point) to a degree, where he has removed some of the side gussets. (We, however, actually use standard hitch sleeves from Putnam, Rigid, etc. with re-inforced lip where Flexpoint has not). Through testing we have found that our earlier design was way over designed. I frequently haul a 10,000 lb. load with my 27HP, 2600lb. compact utility with FEL. When using common sense, it is practical and safe.

Remember, guys with 6,000 lb. trucks are pulling 10,000+ lb. trailers at 80 mph down the highway. They have trailer brakes, but how many of them have them adjusted correctly or how has their load been distributed. I've seen allot of trailer type RV's laying on their side from jack knifing, etc. Speed kills!!!!

Pulling a 10,000 lb. trailer up and down steep hills and around sharp corners with a light tractor without rear wheel weights and front loader isn't the best situation. The tractor's brakes are sufficient if you have traction and are doing so at a slow pace. Unfortunately, there are no laws requiring tractor and truck drivers to have common sense and brains.

Typically you should have about 500-1000 lbs. tongue weight. As brand X, we only sell them with a safety chain to handle negative tongue weights as well. We don't do goosenecks for obvious reasons.

Our current Brand X hitch adapter when bolted to a category 2 drawbar and operated by an 80+ HP. tractor bends when backing (jack knifing it in reverse) a triple axle dump trailer with 26,000 lb. load when the tires are in 6" deep sandy ruts where the front trailer axle/wheels are actually pushing sideways rather than rotating and tracking. If someone asks, we rate ours for a 10,000 lb. rating for 30 and plus HP. tractors and 7,000 lbs. for smaller tractors.

I would hope that Summit has also tested their products to the nth degree as we have and hope that have similar ratings. If they haven't, I can act as an expert witness.

A friend just bought 1000 gallons at $1.69 here in Michigan. Rumor is that gas prices are going down, we'll see.

I put a deposit on a corn burner furnace last week for my farm house rental. It is 71,000 BTU that will hook into the furnace and use existing ductwork. Total installed price is about $3,000.00. Current furnace uses about 1,500 to 2,000 gallons of propane in a heating season. I can get a heating energy credit this year on my tax return, and write off the purchase of the furnace. The house is surrounded this year with 40 acres of corn. It is a win situation, I think!

I've found that using a 3 point hitch attached single point sub-soiler works well by driving around the perimeter of the stump. Start driving circles around it from a distance away getting the smaller roots first and then driving to make smaller circles. Once they are loose they come to the surface. Then wrap a chain around one at a time and pull them out.

Be careful a Woman in SW Michigan died the other day by getting crushed when pulling stumps. The tractor flipped over backwards.

That is a sign of poor blood flow that leads to amputitis. Nerve damage can also give similar discomfort that is permanent from a vitamin C deficiency. Are you legs or heels either cold feeling by touch or your body telling you that they feel hot? <br>

I'm not familiar with that model. If it is a lawn and garden tractor, the starter gear doesn't come in to engage. It needs some grease lubrication. Another possiblity is a poor battery connection. Suggest cleaning them at the battery terminals and also check at the little box next to the battery.

If it is a compact utility tractor, the addition of a solenoid relay has been discussed. If you look under previous discussions under Cub Cadet you should find it as well as under some of my posts. I have a diagram that was gotten from Larry Lutz and have scanned and e-mailed it to others.

I'm not familiar with that model designation. If it is a lawn and garden tractor, the electronic PTO clutch is out of adjustment. If the gap is too wide (from wear) it typically won't engage. I'm not sure but think the gap is .011". If you take off the grille and side panels you can see 3 bolts that tighten down the clutch. These need to be uniform in height.<br>

I have 782's, 1862 and 1864 models. I had a bad muffler on the 1864 and let it go for a while and it heated up the clutch until it fatiqued and broke.

I carry one of those cheapie jump starters with me all the time. Most of the time they work. I use the light and air compressor often as well. If you are jumping a battery that is totally dead with some bad cells, it probably won't do it. Most diesel's require alot of cranking power don't think they are the solution.<br>

A nice pair of long jumper cables are always handy if you have a car or truck nearby. <br>

With all my other stuff laying around, I usually steal the battery from my dump trailer which can be removed by loosening 2 wing nuts. Same thing goes for my boat, I can steal the battery from my electric trolling motor.<br>

For the price of a new battery ($70-80.00) you can afford to have one laying around. You can make a box to store it in.<br>

Ken: Any galvanized surface will rust in the spots that get scratched. If you haul any stone, or use a shovel to remove any contents, you'll begin the process. Like was said, the electro stuff is real thin.

I just leave my trailer bed get rusty, but keep it out of the rain. Local farmers put a heavy coat or more of paint on the bed surface. They then line the bottom and sometimes the sides with a material that is like UHMW (kinda like nylon). It comes in big sheets and comes in several thicknesses.

It can take a real beating if you dump stone on it, absorbs shock so it is dent resistant, doesn't rust and is real slippery for dumping. They usually fasten it with countersunk screws and chaulk edges so moisture doesn't get underneath it.

Suggest looking into this as a possible approach.

You're always welcome to stop by for refreshments, etc. up in Oscoda when traveling on your northern routes. The old Wurtsmith AirForce base is a few minutes away from my condo.

That was a SAC airbase, so the airfield is big enough for loaded B-52's coming or going. It is a beautiful airfield and doesn't get that much use compared to its capabilities.

Most dump trailers with about a 7000 GVW rating use one 4" diameter cylinder for a payload capacity of 4,500-5,000 lbs. From the size of your trailer it would seem you could go to a lots smaller cylinder size. That is, dependent upon your pumps psi capacity.

Have you driven in a bunch of rain lately such that the module got wet? Another chance is to disconnect the battery at the terminals for over 1/2 hour. I've been told that the computer then resets itself.

I have a room with T & G cedar. One of the walls has them at a 45 degree angle. The others are horizontal. I used a natural min-wax stain on the cedar and then covered it with two coats of poly in a satin finish. I had the boards sanded at the shop to get them smooth. I have Andersen windows and patio doors. They are trimmed in pine. I matched this with a birch min-wax stain for an almost perfect color match. This room is adjacent to our kitchen and somewhat open. We have hickory kitchen cabinets done in a honey stain. This all matches quite well. The cathredal ceiling is done in white to keep it bright. Lots of windows with white vertical blinds. That turned out well. We have a table and hutch that has some light birch stain mixed with a white finish that also blends.
