Yes I did trade the 790 in, and yes it's 4x4 with a 521 loader with loaded rear tires and an open drivers station (no cab).The tires are filled with calicum cloride. I probley need to get that stuff out of there beings I can already see a rust color around the valve stem's.

I started with a 790 for my country place and It's been a good little machine, but in time Ive come up with different plans and idea's and I'm finding out that the better machine would have been in the 40 to 50 hp range. It will be hard to find one of that size in the money range your talking about, But there are a lot of older models out there that can be found. Don't go to small or you'll wish you didn't down the road.I did and now It's costing me a bit to upgrade. That my take on it.

The 5320 is not a compact(65 horse turbo )And I believe the 4020's are still called compact's on a larger frame with more ponies, They are also turbo charged.the 5000 tractors are the start of a bigger breed machine.

The 790 is not the ideal bale mover, I have tried it with mine. Not at all safe, you must get a machine with more weight. I'm going to be trading mine in for something to do that same chore. looked a a 5105 then went back to a 4710 now I'm real close to closing in on a used 5205 the middle of this week. It's a 2000 model with a 521 loader and a 129 hrs. on it for 21000. that's almost one of the smallest models for moving bales around in a safe manner. plus I want the extra hp that model offers.at 48 pto hp it can handle some of the smaller balers, and give me more power for working on my food plots. Forgot to mention that the 790 is a great compact machine, been real happy with mine,It's just time for me to step up to a real utitily tractor.

Thank's guy's , sounds like it should be alright. I'm not dead set on this machine yet, But I'm going to getting something more powerful for sure.At least something I can move bales with.And the 4710 seems to be ( from what I'm told )about the smallest unit to do that with.And I still want to be able to maintain food plots without cooking the machine.

The 790 has a really high ballast rate for it's size, that would lead me to believe the axles are pretty stought.maybe they keep pressures lower for other reasons<br>

The GM should come around once it breaks in some. I have had three guys around town here say the same thing about running rings around the GM , BUT when we line up they all got a good look at my taillights!<br>

That's why I posted about a larger tractor that could pull at least a 15 footer.A 5 or 6 footer is a little small for a 1oo acre mowing

I think you'll be very happy with the 790 it's a hard workin machine with a wallet easy price tag. I got mine right before the Horse power cut but they only took a few, surely you won't notice any lack of a fine machine.

Chief if your moving a boat with your set up I asume you can move pretty heavy objects using the 3 point. I like the idea of being able to latch onto a trailer easier with that set up but I'm concerned if it would safer just to use the draw bar dragging a 16 foot trailer around to gather wood?
