most of my plots run along a wooded creek and im not sure tiller would fair so well on some of the roots if been ancountering, iv'e pull alot of them up and broken through alot also, so they should start to rot soon, i might look into tiller next year after roots rot away.tiller does seem to really fine job on dirt but deer plots really dont need to be preped to heavly to grow well.

cant seem to find tread where someone was talking about pulling 6.5 disk with 30 HP machine.looking to get one here shortly and was wondering how they said it work for them.the one im looking at weights 570 lbs. and has 20 sixteen inch disk, notched in front and smooth in the rear.would like to hear your thoughts again.

ya it was a little wet, i was just to make up time beings im not going to be able to work on the plots for afew weeks.Im sure it wont be nearly as bad when it's dryer.

buddy at work has had problems with rockshaft stuttering on 4700 JD but dealer fixed it, now he's happy as all get out.good powerful tractor, he raves about it alot.

790 seems to have the lowest capacity in all compacts, can any body explain the real advantage in haveing high capacity on compacts, all the 4000 series have much higher cap, some are sized pretty close to 790. doesn't seem to be a real advantage to be able to lift something on 3pt that tractor wont be able to operate or pull effectly. so what is the advantage?

just got email from JD web that states 790 has exactly what there web site shows 30 gross hp 25 pto hp. WHO DO WE BELIEVE HERE????????? SEEMS NO ONE REALLY KNOWS!

Im happy to hear that beings the low prices fit my budget,haven't heard much about that brand on this site and was sort of wondering why, though it was maybe not very good quality or something.hear alot about JD, landspride, and such but just a little spendy.just going to be cutting creek edges, few trails through woods and some pasture work, sounds like it should work out fine so far. hope to hear more from others though. thanks all for input.

some say that a 4 foot is easer on machine than 5 foot , can someone help me understand that better. i was told by dealer that i should run at 2600 rpm using 513 cutter that is 5ft on my 790, can you run 4ft at lower rpm , if not how is that easer on machine.

if your cutting weed as tall as bike you must travel really slow, not good on air cooled machines my cooling fan use to kick one constantly, at lease it worked but sold mine before it done the bike in.

ya i used no plow also its ok but must replant ever season and doesn't make hay. get ph right and the alpha and clover will last at least 3 years, sometimes more.from what i can see the deer really like the alpha the best.

iuse big bear 400 4x4 works fine but like mark said its time consuming.go with compact tractor if you have very much to do, asyou can push larger blade.

ncsugrad98 for a guy your size the 790 or tc30 are going to leave you sardeened, im 5-10 155lbs and my 790 is a little tight, and the tc 30 wasn't much bigger. i almost bought tc30, but got better deal on green machine.they are real comparble machines, but for a guy your size your going to need a larger framed model. start saving. best of luck with what you choose.

wolbert the point is im not downing the tractor but if service is needed i was told i would have to PROBLEY ship tractor back to dealer where i was going to buy it from, and that is several states away.didnt want to deal with that IF something had to serviced.
