I noticed that the site ranking updates only M-F and not on weekends. That seems strange. Aren't weekend hits important? Or do they compute these manually? Maybe they're using a batch update that is kicked off manually, but it seems sort of primitive.

Greg, I spent a few years as manager of a tire and battery store and disagree about the significance of SG testing. I have personally tested many batteries that measured full battery voltage and failed the load test due to internal shorts. On the flip side, if a SG test showed a weak cell the battery could still pass a load test and start the vehicle. I never saw a battery that passed a load test fail to crank a car that had good cables, connections and a working starter.

Dealers sell stuff to make money, not because there's always a need.

Every time my truck is at the dealer they try to sell me something. I've been having the dealer do LOFs during work hours since it's so convenient (they share the parking lot where I work).

Anyway, last time they called and said "You need to have your fuel injection flushed, only $199.95. That needs to be done every 30k miles and it's overdue".

I asked them why it wasn't in the maintenance schedule.

They said "There's a lot of stuff that's not in the maintenance schedule". That's their standard reply.

No thanks, it's running fine.

Actually, the last time I had a fuel injection cleaning done my mileage dropped by 10% for the next two tanks.

I don't know anything about that tractor but generally it's wise to look for the easy things first. Have you crawled under the tractor to check that no linkages have become disconnected? Is this a hydro transmission?

I would recommend an AGM battery (AGM is a technology, not a brand). They are rugged, don't outgas, don't contain liquid acid that can spill or splash and self-discharge at a lower rate than standard lead acid batteries.<br>

Optimas used to be a good brand but I heard they were bought out and the quality has gone way downhill. <br>

Find out what group battery is in your machine and then google. IIRC the battery I put in my JD is an "MK" brand and it's been fine.

The fact that Nigerians have no rights doesn't refute the fact that Nigerians were endowed with rights by God, it just means that governments and thugs have taken them away. If a person lived alone in a natural state with nobody to bother them they would enjoy all the rights that God gave them.

These are probably not your problems but I'll throw them out there anyway.

Are both front tires the same size?
Are both rear tires the same size?
Is the rear ballasted equally right to left?
Could one rear tire be loaded with fluid and the other not?

I'm going to try to make the one in Beaverton, but my wife and I sent short letters containing tea bags to all our reps, senators and the president. It was awfully hard to stomach writing those letters with the words "The honorable...." preceding their names.

Ya know, the fact that the problem occurred when you were moving brush might provide a clue. Being electronically controlled, it could be that a stick tore an electrical connection loose (that seems to happen at times with eHydro transmissions). Or, it could have bent a piece of linkage, or kinked a hydraulic line, or even jammed itself in the linkage somewhere where it's limiting movement. It might be worth a try to crawl underneath with a good light and carefully examine all the linkages, wiring and hard lines.

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for warning everyone. The feed is the most problematic area on the Jinma chippers too. I gotta say the $9k I spent on a used 85hp tow behind bandit chipper was some of the best money I've ever spent. It flat out works.

I don't know anything about your shibaura but here's one possibility. On my JD there's a diverter switch that allows the joystick to operate the loader in one position and the rear cylinders in another. Does your machine have a diverter switch?

Initially abolition of the electoral college rubbed me the wrong way too. But one advantage of getting rid of it would be that it would make it more difficult for politicians to game the system for their advantage. Witness the current administrations attempt to seize control of the census.

Regarding term limits, both sides have their points, but I have concluded that career politicians for the most part simply don't put the country first. We need people that are in awe of their responsibility and in touch with their constituents back home.

Thanks for the recommendation Randy. We don't really have anything to monitor that isn't in view of the house, around a one acre area. The rest of the property is heavily forested.

All equipment that won't fit in the garage and shed is chained to trees in view of the house, so cameras mounted on the house and connected to a central DVR should do the job. Some of those cameras are pretty pricey and I'm looking at about 8-12 cameras in total.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. I use a 32hp JD on 15 acres and it does just fine. For the real heavy loads just take smaller bites. The only thing I haven't been able to do is lift a 3000 lb pallet of blocks with the loader forks.

Be aware of the safety issues. They aren't terribly hard to roll. Don't go sideways on hills, just up and down. After rolling mine one I went from R4 industrial tires to R1 AG tires set to the widest possible mounting configuration, which increased stability quite a bit. Also, when pulling you have to keep the tow weight below the axle center line, otherwise it's easy to flip over backwards. Wear your seat belt and keep the ROPS locked up.

Murf, I was thinking about your electric bill. You mentioned a pool. If the pool has a half horsepower motor that would use somewhere around 1kwh. On our pool we had to run the circulating pump about 8 hours/day IIRC. If you do the same that's 8 kwh/day, or 240 kwh/month just for the pool pump.<br>

On a level playing field companies and employees would need to cooperate to prosper. Government first failed in their roll to maintain the level playfield which gave too much power to management. The fact that an adversarial relationship exists should cause failure. Propping up any endeavor that should rightly fail will also fail. Both management and unions are at fault, and both should suffer the consequences. As should government, but that seems a little unlikely unless the voters wise up (if there is even a right to vote in four years).<br>

My problem with unions is collectivism. Individuals should not be required to turn over their individual rights to the collective in order to make a living.<br>
<br>
BTW, the term "workers" is right out of the communist manifesto. The term "employee" seems to properly describe what the relationship should be, an individual agreeing to represent and perform functions on behalf of an employer.
