Is there such a thing?<br>

For each of the last five years snowfall has been heavier than the year before. Yet we've had a few years with no snow at all.<br>

I've been using the bucket to clear a driveway pad and a 100 foot driveway but the spoils are at 10 feet high now and it's still snowing. <br>

I hate spending money on an implement that will go unused 99% of the time. So, is there a cheap way to blow snow? It doesn't even need to be tractor operated (Blasphemy!)<br>

DC Volts. It may not measure any voltage output unless it's connected to a battery. If it's an auto ranging meter just set it to auto, otherwise set it to the smallest range larger than 12 volts. A 15 volt range would work fine. A good way to know that it's working would be to connect it to a battery, measure the voltage with the charger turned off, then turn it on and measure again. The charging voltage should be ~13.5V or higher.

A smart charger might not output any charging voltage if the battery is completely dead or has an open circuit.

One trick to "booting up" a totally dead battery is to connect a known good battery in parallel with the dead one and then hook up the charger. Being totally dead will surely shorten the life of a battery but this trick can get it going again for awhile.

Mark, our 05 Highlander did not use individual tire sensors and instead used the ABS sensor to detect low pressure. When the tire pressure drops the effective diameter shrinks, the tire seems to spin faster, and the TPMS lights up an indicator in the instrument panel. There was no audible alarm. That system was awful, it false alarmed all the time when we traveled gravel roads and resetting it ever week was a pain. Eventually we gave up and just ignored the light.

The Tacoma has individual sensors, which has been dead reliable, but a real PIA for swapping tires+wheels between winter and summer. There's really no excuse for a design that requires the dealer to reprogram sensors with a wheel swap. That could have been done automatically with good design. Some guys have removed all five sensors and put them in a sealed PVC tube with a valve stem. Pump it up to pressure, throw the tube in the glovebox, and voila, no TPMS light.

Harvey, we've had three vehicles with TPMS. An 08 Subaru, 05 Toyota Highlander, and the 07 Tacoma and none of them have any special requirements for rotation.

I wish I had a 2004 Tacoma instead of the 2007. The Japanese made ones were smaller and of higher quality. The 07 has been OK but it's definitely more fragile than the 04 and earlier ones.

When we bought our 15 acres the rural power co-op had a blanket easement on the whole parcel. As part of the purchase they agreed to relinquish the easement in exchange for a future easement to cover right-of-way for lines that run along the north side of the property and the line to our house. They did relinquish the blanket easement but have never asked for a new one, and I'm not about to bring it up.

I don't think 2,4-D will sterilize the soil. I sprayed a bunch of scotch broom and blackberry early last spring and those areas are pretty green with grass now. Now that Triox stuff I used in Phoenix in the mid-80's is another story. Don't know if they even make that stuff anymore.

I have no idea how that engine is plumbed but those symptoms sound identical to a problem I had with an old VW Scirocco. It turned out to be a very simple problem - a flex boot between the throttle body housing and the intake box had cracked, leaking air and causing the engine to run way to lean. Although these engines are generally pretty simple, it would be worth checking for vacuum leaks if there are any vacuum lines on it.

We just set out a salt lick to attract the deer so we can watch 'em, we don't shoot 'em. But I wouldn't hesitate if there was a need.

Thanks, Murf, I'll look into those. Power shouldn't be a problem, there's outlets and lights in every gable.

But I'd hire someone to install them. I'm too old and too chicken to work on a three story 12/12 roof :)

Is there any chance that the arms are oriented incorrectly or are the wrong arms? Does Kubota advise different arms for units with backhoes?

I like the standalone splitter. Tow it to the job site, disconnect it, as wood is split it gets loaded into both ends of the tractor and ferried back and forth between the jobsite and woodshed.
