The truck sounds good! The steering felt alittle loose, it just may be i'm not use to it.. I didnt reallize it had two batteries. The rear rotars have some rust on them, so if i go with the truck i'll try to get them to replace the rears. The wire harness on the back is totally corroded..
Now I just need to get the dealer to work the price and/or sell my 2000 Nissan Sentra.

Was there any white smoke, or make then normally? If your air filter is bady plugged you could see such performance..

I went down to a local hardware store and saw a roll of 100 signs, went to the check out and they where 50.00 some odd dollars for the roll. I thought that was a bit steep. Or does that sound reasonable for signs? Any good sources? I checked TSC online and didn’t see any on there when I searched.<br>

I been thinking from Murfs last post on the Use R1 R4s( the gumbo) if I scrap out that black muck and fill with dirt fill a bit higher so can make a little drainage trench to keep it drier. Now I need to find stone or fill...

I was thinking of keeping inside, so that should work well. I just have to figure out if I should try to fill it with off-road, or the stuff at the pump for $1.79 gal.

Raceing slicks is exactly what I have.

The Mud is really bad, I have a hard time just drive on the flat gound you see in pic #11.

Do I get chains for the rears or all 4?

I hear ya! I'm in the same boat with my JD790. I have the rear hydo hook ups but I just don't want it to be weak. I will I could talk to someone who has used it on our tractors to see if its going to be a waste.

I was also figuring worst case i could get a 22 gpm pump, prince pto pumps and run it on that.

I can get my equipment on in just a few minutes. The most difficult piece was the ballast box. It managed to sink to the mud with all the rain we've had.

I have found that when you detach an implement you should select a level, hard surface, and also make certain the implement is straight behind the tractor, not swaying at all. Makes for getting it off much easier.

I hook up both link arms first, and then the top link, pto.

If the implement has sunk hook up the left hand side of the tractor [left, if your sittin on it], first. This arm can't be adjusted other than up and down with the 3ph control.
Once you have the left on connect the right hand arm. This arm has an adjustable vertical link, so if the implement pin is lower than the left side it is easy to adjust and lower. Same goes with the horizontal adjustments.

If you center up to the implement you'll be fine.
If you had to adjust the horizontal sway be sure to raise the implement up slowly and once to the top of is travel push it to the left and right to make sure I doesn't sway too much and clip your tires.

I've heard of people using hay bales to contain the pile. I believe there was a disscusion about this not to long ago..
I've just have been waiting to drive by one of the farmers homes and pick up 8 or so bales and a load of black gold to help start up my pile...

I know many of the parts are made in US and Canada, and the engines, Yanmar, Japan.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that there assembled in Illinois.

I love my 790 great tractor..

I've been looking at the 3 point log splitter in the nothern tool catalog. However it says the continuous tonnage is only 15.7 tons. Does any one have this spliter, and does anyone have an idea how to determine how much tonage one will need. I'll only be splitting a few cords a year, and i like the idea of using the tractor for it..<br>

Dig up at least 2 1/2 feet from the base, more if you can move the ball and at least 1 1/2' deep. Take your time and realy feel what you are doing.. I take it easy round the base and feel out where there are any big main roots, and try to get the most of them. I tend to move the larger trees in the spring because the gound is much moister, and the trees have a full growing season to take root. You can also do well planting in the fall. OneAce, I've used the easy photo program on the site and resized them to like 600 x 400 and then when you save them be sure to change the Quality Level [size slider] until you've hit the 30kb mark..
