Well, ncrunch can still use a soft aluminum washer to gauge the torque on his oil-drain plug - no worry about breaking or melting there.

Trying to find a good use for your torque wrenches.
The CUTs do come with torque specs for all the bolts (have to be questioned in light of comments by earthwrks), maybe that's where you can put them to use. I understand you have to check all the bolts every 200hrs or so.

Good posts DeTwang' the worst thing about it - I hate Mexican food! Germans brought us sausage - good, italians brought us pizza - even better. Mexicans are bringing tacos and doritos. I hate that stuff. My dog once picked up a nacho on the street when I was walking her and had to throw up. There's not a single good Italian restaurant around here anymore - all the food is made by mexicans and they make it to their taste (or lack thereof).

My point though is, wealth is intrinsically safer when it's invested in something that has intrinsic value, like real estate and commodities, including precious metals. Our paper money / electronic bank accounts are only as good as the economic state of our country - which is not getting better - I just heard this morning that the federal government has underfunded their pension plans by $4.5 TRILLION! So, if I had to take my compensation in greenbacks or gold coins, I'd take the latter.

Art and Murf may be right when it comes to utility, but I would advice against screwing up a "1790 vintage Pennsylvania German bank barn" by adding onto it a lean-to or what have you. Just doesn't feel right. Build elsewhere if you need to, seems like you have the space.

Since none of our resident experts gave you their final word on your quotes, I'll give you my ignorant opinion. You do not want anything that was used at at state fairs and demos. Surely those folks didn't baby that tractor when it needed it most. Out of these two, I'd get the new tractor.

How else are you going to mow those spots? That's why you got the rear mower, to get it into tight spots. Just be careful with what you're backing into; if you jam into something, in addition to bending the deck on the mower, you can easily damage the PTO shaft.

I found my LA402 loader to be very easy to attach/detach and I don't have that much experience with it. I did it in the garage on concrete floor which is actually not very level at all, but didn't have a problem anyway. I don't know if there's a major difference between the way different Kubota loaders are attached, but for the LA402, once you get the side frame lined up with the receivers on the main frame, it's a matter of 1 - 2 minutes to finish the hook up.

you got it right 100%. I want to know how many felons convicted of violent crimes are currently out of prison. They are the ones who continue to commit crimes when out of prison. Those folks should be simply rounded up and shot. If that results in riots, the rioters should be rounded up and shot, too.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting water in the grease joints. Just wash the tractor and clean up the extra grease and water around the joints with a rug, then give a few pumps with a grease gun and that should get the water out of the joints.<br>

I don't know how much Kubota charges for their MMM blades, but I used to pay $7.99 for a John Deer blade at the Home Depot. My take on this is, it's easier to sharpen these blades any which way you want and get new ones when the old ones get wear out in a couple of years.

There's nothing wrong with using e-bay, just keep your eyes open. Ask for certified check only, or you can also use paypal if you know how that works. Check the feedback on the buyer and you should be OK. You'll definitely get the biggest exposure to potential buyers by going with e-bay.

I've had a Stihl chain saw for three years now and it's seen it's share of use. I haven't had to tighted the chain on it for two years, but the last two times I used it, I saw it slack and had to tighten it up. Looking at the size of the shavings, the chain seems to be sharp. Could there be something wrong with my saw?
