Has anyone installed an engine block heater on their Cub? If so how difficult, where did it install, cost? I may have to leave my Cub outdoors this winter, (Southern Maine) and I will probably have to install one. Thanks.

Although I haven't had to do it, I think generally it's just knocking out a freeze plug and replacing it with a heater, although some tractors have a threaded port for them. There is discussion in the archives but I don't know if any is about Cubs in particular.

I'd stick with factory parts but some people have had luck finding heaters of right diameter in auto stores at lower costs than factory parts. However, such a substitute has to be the right length as well. One that's too long may go against the interior water jacket. A substitute also should have similar wattage as a factory heater as well, although I think 250W is almost universal. ....
