Help please! My JD7 Backhoe has a broken crowd cylinder and I need to know where to get a complete one. I called surpluscenter.com and they need to know the retracted length as I have the bore and stroke info. Any help on getting the missing info would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott

Broken? How is it broken? They are almost always
repairable. If you can not do it yourself, check with a local hydraulics shop. I have had them repaired for less than $100 and I have personally repaired welds, seals, and bent rods myself. JD probably wants $500 for one, but they sure can get it. You are not likely to find a cylinder from the likes of Surplus Center as you need a specific bore, stroke, and end link (pin) size. ....
