Unfortunately the season is here for staining my vertical shiplap siding. I can't figure out how to do this with my tractor. To now I had used Benjamin Moore oil base for the vertical surfaces and Cabot oil base for the decking floors (Benjamin Moore doesn't have an oil base decking stain).

The paint person at my local lumber yard asked why I was using Benjamin Moore. He told me he was selling mostly Cabot to the professionals. Any opinions as to the best quality stain, and oil base (Alkyd) vs Acrylic?

You need to get a 3-point sprayer with a spray wand and fill it up with the stain of your choice :)

Sorry, no personal opinion of the two stains you mention. We use Sikkens DEK on our ipe deck and it's pretty darned good stuff. ....

Lucerne, I have a backhoe which my wife encouraged me to buy! I have told her on several occasions she was right. I do an awful lot of work with the backhoe. (You can see her on the tractor in my pics.) But I have been telling her lately that I always get the right advice from tractorpoint, and that the guys on tractorpoint think I should get another tractor! I really like that yellow John Deere of yours :) ....

The 110 is pretty powerful, both loader and hoe. They did a good job designing it. It drives like a skid steer, very fast and agile. Alot of times I can turn it by sliding the front end sideways when going in reverse and then hit forward while in a turn. It sure does alot of work in a day. Put in 7 hrs today, looks like I'm working tomorrow too. I got rear foot controll hydraulics because I put on a thumb and might get a hammer $8500.00 ouch, quick release hoe bucket, and a skid steer quick disconect hd front bucket. Only thing I wish I got and recomend is front hydraulics run through the joy stick with a switch to run front or rear implements with the stick, say a angle on a blade or a sweeper on front. It all adds up though, near $50,000.00 just for what I got. ....

I have Cabot OVT stain on my cedar siding, Cabot Finish on the Trim, and Cabot Australian Oil (CAO) on the Cedar deck.

The Cabot OVT and Finish have stood up very well, on the Deck the CAO lasts about a year and stands up the best of the Cabot stains that are not opaque.

Dennis, I think I may switch over to the Cabot OVT. I am getting tired of this oil base cleanup. And I am not happy with the gallon to gallon consistency of Benjamin Moore. Thanks for your input! ....
