I ordered a new tractor in the beginning of June and I am still waiting to receive it. I was curious on how long people have waited for their 4000 series tractors to be delivered. John Deere was to expect it off the line in the beginning of September. I have heard of dealers having the model I purchased in their inventory. I guess it is better to wait so the kinks can be worked out. I would also like to hear the reviews from fellow 4400 owners. Thanks

I know how you feel, I ordered my 4300 hst on May 15, and was told it was warehoused on 9/10. As of this date I am still waiting, I checked with the dealer on 9/24 and was told that he has been billed for it and expected it this week. Like you I am anxious and hope that the wait is worth it. ....

Being the first tractor "I" actually own or should say purchased, I can say that I've waited my whole life. So a 6 week wait was faily reasonable in my case, our dealer told us it would be 4-6 weeks. I absolutely love our 4100,and feel it was worth the wait. I have only two complaints. No dirt screen inside the neck of the fuel tank, and folding ROPS aren't available on a 4100. Being used to little cheap-O lawnmowers OR 75-100hp farm tractors, the 4100 was a different animal for me to adjust to using. It has the same steering radius as our old lawn mower, with big tractor features(ergonomics,controls,PTO,ect..) After you install/remove a loader and belly mower on a 4000, you will quickly develop the big wide smile syndrome. If I had the chance to re-spend what and where I spent that check, the only thing I would have done different is ordered Turfs instead of R4s. I loved the R4s, but my lawn would speak otherwise. ....

Nick,I ordered my 4400 (HST, 4wd, R4's, 430 loader, third scv, folding ROP's, 60" belly mower) in early June and took delivery Labor Day weekend. I'm glad I waited. The tractor is everything, and then some. I can't believe how fast the hydraulics are, and the 4wd is a must for loader work. The belly mower does an excellent job of finish mowing. I must admit that the height adjustment on the mower is a little tricky (or I'm making it more difficult than it should be). I was originally looking at a 4100, but wanted the live PTO. Moved up to the 4200, but wanted the larger loader. You know how the story goes. Overall, if I had to buy another, this would be the tractor. My dealer told me that on the day he delivered mine, if I ordered another, it would be Christmas before it arrived. ....

My 4400HST with loader and belly mower took a little over two months to arrive. Mine was an early model which had bugs (several minor and one significant) that I hope have been cleared up on the most recent models being assembled, including yours that is yet to arrive. This tractor is too much of a pleasure to use to have had "new tractor bugs" because JD did not do enough of their homework. Because a number of the early 4200-4300-4400 tractors had such bugs, it is my hope that JD will own up to it and extend the tractor's warranty for an extra year as a good faith reimbursement to those of us that did JD's field testing for them and that had to put up with the pesky bugs. ....

I ordered my 4400 HST the last week of April and it arrived at the dealer on August 19th. I ordered a front blade at the same time and it has still not arrived however. The tractor, loader and snowblower all were delivered for Labor Day playing. So far so good. I am still learning the best way of attaching everything since my yard is not exactly level! Only complaint has been the clouding instrument panel. Also I haven't figured out the best way of attaching the PTO shaft to the snowblower. It is in a low, diffiuclt space for this guys poor shoulders and arms to get at. ....
