Just purchased a 49" ccm rotary tiller. The tiller is very solid and does a great job...Works very good behind the Kioti LB1914...

Picked up a 58" CCM tiller today. Appears to be well made and works well in my initial test runs thru the garden. Only problem I had was the fact that the PTO shaft had to be very short, but I finally worked that out (I have a JD 790, and the 3 pt. arms aren't very long, so it sits pretty close to the tractor). ....

The manual for the CCM tillers is very poor in the area of adjusting the length of the PTO shaft.
The best way to do it is to remove the plastic guard, cut the shaft halves to the correct length, then fit the plastic guard to the new length.
Cutting guard and shaft in one operation leaves the shaft halves shorter than necessary...which means less overlap.
Raising the tiller can then cause the shaft halves to seperate if there is insufficient overlap.

I bought mine from a local dealer. Mark Carter of CCM (Ironpeddler) called me to help connect me with the local distributor who then called and connected me with the local dealer. His prices are higher than what is posted on CCM site, but I was dealing with two additional levels of profit to be made. I'm very satisfied with it. It sure beats the old walk behind tiller. ....

You are correct...I went to another tiller site and found good instructions for cutting the drive shaft..I made a cardboard template of the drive shaft length prior to cutting. I am considering adding a I-Match quick hitch to the tractor..At that time it will add about three inches to the drive shaft length. Keep in mind that you do not want to extend the implement to far behind the tractor...it will take weight off the front wheels...requiring adding weights to the front to keep the tractor balanced..I am pleased with the tiller and it does a fine job.. ....
