What is the best loader for the money to put on an 1980 long 460? All I want it for is to pick up round bales of hay and put it on a trailer. Only going to stack bales 1 high on trailer?

You need to find a loader that has a mounting kit for the Long 460 and then ask yourself a number of questions as to what things you need:
1) location of controlls
2) ease of mount/removal
3) Dealer support
4) lift capacity
5) ease of bucket/spear change.

The only loader manufacturer (that I know of) that lists the spec. on the web is Allied, a respectable brand. They list a loader for the 460 (395) and two for the 460 DT (595 and 395). The 395 would require the alternate cylinders to lift the normal bales. I have a friend that has a Long to bales. I am not sure what loader he has. ....
